3-Point Hitch Field Cultivator on John Deere 750

Wing section off of a vibra-tine field cultivator modified to fit my John Deere 750. Section of ‘clodbuster’ fitted on the back which also serves for depth control. Thanks to Mick and Steven Wessel for giving me the backbone parts to pull this off.

Ground needs a harrow run over it first, those are a seed bed finishing tool ahead of planting usually. They do a excellent job of incorporation of fertilizer and chemicals into the seed bed. Great job on it !

Good job figuring out what works for you. From what I've seen I believe the basket will work much better at a higher ground speed if possible. Would be aggravating but with that top link on the basket you could probably run the tines in the ground then go back and lower the basket to touch without the tines in the ground and get the ground speed you need. Just a thought

That would do good with a disk, and so you don't bunch up as bad, remove a couple tines and space them out I little more, and it would save you a head ache

You’re not really going fast enough to get any benefit from that rotary chopper on the rear.

I wasn’t quite up to speed here. It was my first time out and the ground was quite wet. I tilled 8 acres last spring and ran mostly in 3rd gear which is 1.6 mph on that 750. Any faster will bog that little tractor and also causes clogs within the tines.

To me it looks like the ground is way to wet! You’re going to end up with dry hard balls of mud, not good!
