The foul call was horrible, especially given how the game was being called all game. There was a lot of contact being allowed all game, including for example on Creighton's drive at the 0:39 sec. mark. You want to refs to make consistent calls and not needlessly decide the outcome. Not as bad as the Seton Hall/Michigan 1989 call with the phantom foul in OT, but still pretty bad. But as with Seton Hall back then, Creighton needed to make more of its chances. Bottom line it came down to SDSt driving in the final seconds.

The same guy who they called the foul on literally got karate chopped across the arm so bad earlier in the half he couldnt play and was never the same. Ref seen it happen and no call. I liked that they let them play but you cant switch up the refereeing in the final seconds like that. Be consistent

Not a fan of either team, just a fan of the game.... Absolutely don't like that we bust out a stopwatch at the end of the game to determine if the clock started on time. I guarantee that tenths of a second are gained and lost throughout the game on just about every inbounds pass where a human being has to turn on and off the clock or shot clock. It's an inexact science performed, in this case, by impartial officials. Why only scrutinize the final moments of the game and not every single instance throughout the game? Go back and check the inbound pass SDS made just before the last foul was called...didn't seem the clock started quickly enough there either. Maybe there should have been more time for the hail Mary pass at the end?
It was just a bad play to begin with. Would rather pass the ball to at least half court and take a shot rather than risk a full court pass that can be turned over. That should really be for less than a second. Theres still time to catch turn and shoot.
one of the worst officiated games of the year. All game long kalkbrenner was getting hacked in the post and he only got 1 and 1 call. he should have had at least 10 fts with how much contact there was in the post. then of course at the end of the game they have to call a weak hip check to give sdsu ft's wtih 1 second left. Also not to mention the questionable no call with 8 minutes to go where a SDSU guard hacked at ryan nembhards right wrist and he you could tell he wasnt the same after the dirty no call. it wasnt even a basketball play either, nembhard had the ball dribbling with his left and the dude just comes over his back and swats his right wrist and the ref was staring at him and calls nothing.
Creighton got away with a bunch of fouls, themselves, and I saw AT LEAST 3 cases where Creighton ballhandlers traveled, but weren't called. That last play had to be called, it was an obvious, clear foul. Not calling it would have given Creighton an overtime they hadn't earned. SDSU came back in this game multiple times and just wore Creighton down. Give SDSU credit for never giving up, never letting up, and giving it 110% from beginning to end, even when their shots weren't going in.

Creighton got away with several fouls earlier, and had at least 3 travels not called. They already had gotten the benefit of officiating going their way. This was a clear foul, and not calling it would have given Creighton an overtime they hadn't earned.
Its simple, when a person is shooting, you dont have the right to make physical contact with him, the defender clearly put his hand on him, its a foul.
"Cheat" and "Dirty" plays happen at the end of every close game, and are committed by the team that knows they're in trouble. Refs know this. Coaches know this, and they know it is worth the risk because half the time the refs will miss it. This time, the refs saw it.
And the fact that I’m the inbound SDU player traveled dragging his pivot foot so if going to call rules should have been a travel before the last shot anyways. I caught it live don’t know how they couldn’t see it but saw the contact.
@@maxanderson9882 your kinda proving my point. Other travels were missed just like many fouls were missed if that last one is called. If whole game was called that way SDU would have had 3 guys or more fouled out and CU would have had lots of free throw attempts. Nothing controversial whatsoever about that foul call. 💯 a foul all day everyday in every league. If they had no call on it, that would be controversial.
The definition of a inconsistent "ticky tack" call. As surprisingly (yet pleasantly) physical this game was......this was a terrible call for the refs to make. Right call, yes.....yet THIS was a disingenuous call for the game to end like that. Just be consistent!!! If it's not a foul ALL GAME LONG (based on the physicality of the game!) then DONT let a ticky tack call determine the outcomes of games. Be consistent. Period!💯👎🏿😩
It was a good call, it was the right call. Rules are rules, there shouldn't be an exception in the last seconds. Had the play went the other way, people would be at the ref for NOT making a call. Tough job.
Blame the ref... But you can also blame Creighton for allowing SDSU's defense to dictate the pace they played...It showed early... Creighton wanted to open up the floor more, but the Aztecs dictated where they were going to go, and forced them to play a much different game....as with every team SDSU has played, the opposition was made "uncomfortable". That's not new, and overlooked. So go ahead and make the call for Creighton...you can see SDSU still was never given a chance on a majority of pundits. Not in the first 2 rounds, and especially against Bama... but that's what they do... need to make it a story cuz their own narrative didn't match the results...."They math'd wrong"
I have never watched a Creighton game before today. I didn't even know where Creighton was located. My point is that I've got no prejudice here, but I can say this: Creighton got robbed.

That former HS QB should have played football in collge
What a throw 👏👏
his foot was on the line, GAME OVER!
@@BlazingShackles Your foot is allowed to be on the line...
@@dominicgunderson you can put your foot anywhere you want, your mouth for instance.
Absolutely not, that was clearly a foul, I can only guess you are a Creighton fan or had money on them, I got no dog in this fight and that was 100% a foul and it was called right.
It is a clear foul. Anytime you touch the body of a shooter, that is a foul!
The same guy who they called the foul on literally got karate chopped across the arm so bad earlier in the half he couldnt play and was never the same. Ref seen it happen and no call. I liked that they let them play but you cant switch up the refereeing in the final seconds like that. Be consistent
@@deanfirnatine7814-It is not a foul if the exact same type of contact was not being called all game. There were like 20 fouls called the entire game. Even then it was iffy at most.
@@obieknobbe If the ref saw it , and it was as bad as u say, he would have called it.
I'm glad that the Aztecs are going to the final four. 😀👍🏀

@@joeomalley2835 cool 😎 I was born in San Diego. 😀👍🏀
It was the right call if they don’t call that and Creighton wins on overtime then what?
Let players decide in this moment.
@@davidparson2364 Nonsense, everytime you touch the body of the shooter, it is a foul!
@@davidparson2364 the player decided the game, he made the FT
GD right. I knew this would be a physical matchup. Didn't expect a referee to made it a decision, as in boxing
@@erikrupp692 cope, look what team fouls more on average. creighton is 3rd best in the country when it comes to not fouling. SDSU played dirty and got away with it
@@nickpaine - Maybe the Creighton player shouldn't have pushed Trammel while he was in the air in the act of shooting. It WAS a foul. Not calling it would have been a violation of the rules just like the foul was. The ref did the right thing. Had the Creighton player not pushed Trammel while shooting we wouldn't be having this discussion.
You are comparing post play to a mid range shot. They aren't the same play so stop trying to compare them.
Was it a foul sure but had it been called a foul all game? If so there would have been many more fouls called.
He knocked the shooter over. Blatant foul
it’s just trippy asf watching a physical aggressive game like that with the whistles swallowed until the final second….
Creighton got away with several fouls earlier, and had at least 3 travels not called. They already had gotten the benefit of officiating going their way. This was a clear foul, and not calling it would have given Creighton an overtime they hadn't earned.
@Paul McAnally but they did earn it, they won!!!
Not to mention beating Alabama by 7
Its simple, when a person is shooting, you dont have the right to make physical contact with him, the defender clearly put his hand on him, its a foul.
@@BP7BlackPearl - Put his hand on him and PUSHED. That's a foul. You can't NOT call that. You have to call it.
@Paul McAnally Held Creighton to 23 second half points, thats how they earned it.
"Cheat" and "Dirty" plays happen at the end of every close game, and are committed by the team that knows they're in trouble. Refs know this. Coaches know this, and they know it is worth the risk because half the time the refs will miss it. This time, the refs saw it.
I didn't see either of those types of plays here.
And the fact that I’m the inbound SDU player traveled dragging his pivot foot so if going to call rules should have been a travel before the last shot anyways. I caught it live don’t know how they couldn’t see it but saw the contact.
How about the 3-5 travels Creighton had during the game that went uncalled. Don’t leave it to the refs, simple as that. Best team won
Thought I was the only one who noticed that
@@maxanderson9882 your kinda proving my point. Other travels were missed just like many fouls were missed if that last one is called. If whole game was called that way SDU would have had 3 guys or more fouled out and CU would have had lots of free throw attempts. End of day CU need to make the shots they need to make and last call wouldn’t have mattered. When officials can’t be consistent with what they call is the issue.
San Diego State held Creighton to 23 points in the 2nd half. That is why they won! San Diego State also held Alabama to 23 points in the 1st half - that it also why they won! DEFENSE!
Clarkie gotta lose his mommy's granny glasses
It was the correct call. Nmhard should have let him miss and go to OT. Creighton had a good run. San Diego state has no offense.😂😂
No offense that outscored Alabama by 7
Apparently Creighton had even less of an offense. And since Trammell scored twelve points, and Nembhard only scored seven, who's missing now?
Nothing controversial whatsoever about that foul call. 💯 a foul all day everyday in every league. If they had no call on it, that would be controversial.
The definition of a inconsistent "ticky tack" call. As surprisingly (yet pleasantly) physical this game was......this was a terrible call for the refs to make. Right call, yes.....yet THIS was a disingenuous call for the game to end like that. Just be consistent!!! If it's not a foul ALL GAME LONG (based on the physicality of the game!) then DONT let a ticky tack call determine the outcomes of games. Be consistent. Period!💯👎🏿😩
The foul was horse hockey on R2. Some of the contact (by defenders on both teams) was WAY beyond that tap. Swallow the whistle ref.
Clear foul and the time did run out end of story
I have never watched a Creighton game before today. I didn't even know where Creighton was located. My point is that I've got no prejudice here, but I can say this: Creighton got robbed.
Really they were 3/17 from 3 pt line. SDSU inbounder was color blind throwing the ball to Creighton player for the layup. It was a foul, had it been not called nobody would have gotten too crazy over it. But a foul is a foul.
You are absolutely correct!
This just means you don't know anything about basketball. Both teams played fair & square. The refs did a good job! Go cry a river!

The official who made the call wanted to decide the game. There was probably 100 similar points of contact during the game that didn't get called. Worst call I've ever seen, the only winner was the official who ruined the game. NO EXCUSES , he wanted to decide the game.
