  • Join Anna Renderer for a functional strength routine that is perfect if you're new to working out. With moves like squat jacks, sumo squats with side bend, and single leg curls with press, your legs and arms in particular will be feeling the burn.
    Equipment needed:
    2 light dumbbells
    2 medium dumbbells

    This is one of popsugar’s workouts that I consistently come back to. Hard enough but not to the point of being discouraging. I love seeing different body types represented and Anna is just so positive.

      Seems like a lot of people are having difficulty in their "alot" part in their body. Not sure where this is as I am not a doctor and have no idea about human biology. I do a lot of workout and luckily I am still healthy but maybe I need to be looking into this since it seems to be a concern....thank you!

      Hi Andrea! Is this also for men? I am a man and just saw this lesson! I tried it but it is very difficult 😟I could only do it without any weights at all but only lasted till around 9 minutes when my arms completely gave up. I am very low and unconfident and really want to feel strong and empowered😟

      @@rupinjeremiah9589 if you’re not used to this type of exercise it will be very hard when you start! That’s completely normal. Do this video 2x a week and you will see very rapid improvement. I’ve been doing it for a year now and it was hard for me at first, now much easier and I’ve added weights

I am still not able to finish the lesson even though I am not using any weights at all 😟 I really want to be strong and confident if it is possible. It is incredible for me how all the women here are so muscular and empowered!

    Anna is back in full force! Love this strength workout Anna! Wished it was a tad longer...45 - 60 mins with some more HIIT & Pilates built in though. Love it anyhow! ❤️🙏

    Oh. My. Gosh! This was amazing! I loved this video. I was looking for a video that gave me something different to my "routine" and still had something for my abs but focused on my arms. This was the one! I used 5lb weights through out this entire video.

    I have a question--how can you get better at those pushups without being able to do them right? No matter how hard I try, my body will not do anything other than worm. My chest goes up like a foot before it's physically possible for me to get my belly up. Any advice?

    Alternatives for plank work would be appreciated too. Some of us are doing the “worm” because we’re not quite as strong as you are yet. Some of the other modifications were really helpful.

    Its a good workout, but she should have mentioned to get up from the floor slowly on the second circuit. You can definitely get dizzy by getting up the way she did. But I love the ways you can modify this workout and the stretches at the end.

    I loved this workout❤️ thank you. I am just in the beginning of my pregnancy but can't jump anymore(nausea), so the modifications were awesome. Does anybody have tips for workouts with no jumping but still toning and strengthening your muscles?

      you can do still do the workouts just modify it without the jumping and do more reps. for example when they do jumping jacks just do squats, but make them fast. congratulations also

    This may be my favourite.
    Even thoug I will be sore tomorrow, ha ha ha. "If I am not a little sore tomorrow, then I didn't work hard enough today."
    (BTW, I am 70 and I kept up..... and did only half the modified verson.)

    I found this workout had some flaws:
    1. Too repetitive. Repeating a circuit twice is less boring. Three times just makes me bored and my muscles fatigue and cramp.
    2. Too static. My quads were cramping bc of the lack of mobility with these moves. Plus no stretching between circuits.
    3. Rough on knees
    Overall glad I did it (with lots of my own modifications) but won't be doing this one again. I prefer the dynamic, fun, and very effective moves of Kit Rich and Marnie Alton.

    these functional workouts are my absolute fave. i love how there are modifications for every level!!! ever since i injured my back I’ve found it so hard to find suitable workouts that are fun - but I finally succeeded! please do more of these 🥰🥰🥰🙌🏼

    I love Anna and I’m so glad she’s back. I didn’t care for this specific workout because I don’t like workouts that repeat the same exercises over and over. I’d rather have 30 minutes of all unique exercises. Wouldn’t we work more body parts with a wider variety of exercises?
