Mamma didn't raise no TWO TRIP LOSER, haha! If I look at the hotspot on the dudes head in the Euphoria shot, I'd guess that the key light is coming more from the top front and causing the spill on the bed and curtain. You guys did a sick job at recreating the look and vibe! I love it! Lemme go watch Saltburn now just incase 😉 haha.
First time coming across your channel. Love to see a focus of actually making things with your gear instead of so many channels that go on and on (much like this comment) about gear without ever actually producing anything. Cool vid. Love the euphoria look and seeing how you’ve recreated it.
Beautiful work Brady. One observation though, the shadow of the character in the reference falls on the bed and offscreen which tells us the key light wasn't lifted as high up as yours because, the higher the light, the closer the shadow to the character. Great video. Big fan.
This looks perfect! I just watched 'parthfinder' .. meh film but it had so much darkness and hard light which I really liked. I'd love to see how hard light on faces can look 'good'
Great video. It's good to learn how to break these things down. How to think like a DP. I'm getting better at doing this (taking a photo and determining how it would be lit)... but I still struggle to walk into a room and come up with ideas on how to light something on my own.
@@BradyBessette I think your work is great. Perhaps, however, you might do a video on how to think like a DP. It's one thing to be able to copy a shot, it's another to walk into a room and come up with lighting. When a DP walks into a space (a kitchen, a bedroom, or even that room you used there), what goes through their mind in terms of how they would go about creating a lighting setup? That's one thing I don't see a lot of people talking about - how to THINK like a DP. You seem to have that at least in part, figured out. I'd be curious of your thoughts. Thanks for the inspiration.
I really enjoy watching experienced DP’s do shot recreations. Obviously, I’m not with you on set to hear your thoughts as you think up a lighting setup, but here, I can see and hear your process for how to achieve a look. I have the hardest time figuring out step 1. Where do I start? I feel like this video helped in that regard. Thanks!
Great exercise. Althrough the key seems way harder. Looking as the shadows and how the light shine on the guitar neck, I would have through of a tungsten unit with light or no diffusion (dimmed / corrected ctb)
Hey in my last video I showed my euphoria recreations. It drives me nuts that I can’t get the harsh light onto of the soft light.😄They managed it to have harsh and soft light in such a beautiful harmony. 🍿
12:15 "I'm not a colorist. Dont make fun of me." Well, if you want/need one, I have a reel for you 😏 🥸. Also, I think this looks good for allegedly not being one.
Nobody's gonna know why this comment is pinned
Why is it?
🤣🤣🤣
🤣🤣🤣
Lighting is spot on. But really goes to show how much having a set designer plays a roll in the final product.
Honestly makes all the difference
Recreation can be the best practice for filmmakers! Literally doing what the greats did and understanding why they did it. Great stuff!
Great content Brady! 💥
I'm amazed on how every new video you post is better then the last. Loved it.
That is so sweet thank you
Thank you , Brady! Your hard work has really helped me throughout my lighting journey... I really appreciate ya!!!!

It really is difficult. Even looking back at my shot of this I pick it apart a ton still

Love the video! It's simple, but yet so interesting to see your thought process. Keep going! Love it!❤
Love the scene recreation exercise. Very fun way to learn the craft!
I love it!
Loved this low key video- I'm gonna give it a try too! Thanks for sharing!

Dude.. love your vibe 🤘
Maybe do a lighting set up from a scene from Saltburn followed by your grading process. It might be a longer video but id watch it x
At 11:27, what is the item called used to hold the tube light? I've been searching for one for a second now but I can't seem to find the name.
This is amazing 💡
Excelent Brady!!!!
Magnifique, thanks for inspiration

Thank you!!
Love your work and your energy! Hope to connect with you at some point!!
Ohh ❤
But why didn’t you move the practical on the right side into the shot? 🤔
I think just a time thing, I knew it wouldn’t be perfect but I tried. I was doing everything alone
@@BradyBessette oh okay okay :)
wow

U already got it?????????
He was smoking so there was also haze near the practical
忽略了床铺和窗户形成的透视关系,这就是电影为什么不怎么用 50 MM,没有空间感。
Best tip of the day! How not to burns your hands on the light bulb! ;)
Lolol thank u mom
