In the 1940s, my grandmother, living in rural Canada, made linen cloth for sheets and towels. She would plant the flax (linen), let it grow, harvest it, soak it in pond water to rot everything except the fibers, beat and dry the fiber, spin it and then weave it into cloth. I still have two of her kitchen towels today. They are a treasure to me.

I think the difference is people NOW know what to make and what to do to survive. I can google what i need to survive in the wild and how to make what i need to survive. What to eat, where to sleep, ect. While back then, they just had to go with the flow.

+Ahsan Shaikh Just a leather bag, medical herbs ,thin water pot and something non perishable to grow, then you are ready to hike back to civilization with tutorials of this guy....... if you want of course
@r steevens Yea. That's outside of the solar system. The perspective is different when looking at one solar system from outside of it, as oppose to looking at planet in our own solar system. We can see the light reflect off Venus because were in the same solar system as Venus, orbiting around the same star. When you're looking at planets orbiting around a different star, then you can only see them by the shadow. Do you believe that Venus actually isn't a planet, but a star, and NASA is telling us it's a planet? Because if so, come on. Venus was discovered in before NASA even existed.
@r steevens It's extremely far away. It looks like a star to us, because it's so far away, that we can't see any detail. Look at this picture. www.google.com/search?q=pic+of+earth+from+saturn&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiJjJ3IpLneAhUSSN8KHUYLCR4Q_AUIEygB&biw=2048&bih=1042#imgrc=pqztuSbt4VuNoM: The arrow is pointing to Earth. It looks like a star too, because the picture was taken so far away. I know Venus is closer to Earth, but still far enough away to seem so small.
@r steevens They pulsate because of our turbulent atmosphere. I see you're one of those people. Who doesn't believe anything, and thinks everything they've been told is a lie, even though coming up with all these lies and fooling billions of people is a waste of time. And as far as I'm concerned, people like you just want to feel better and more intelligent then then everyone else, so you make yourself believe the opposite of everything you've been taught and then make yourself think you're right. So whatever. Think whatever you want. I respect your opinions, even if I don't agree with them. It's a free country. Think whatever you want. I just don't see the motive that NASA, or anyone, would have to lie about this stuff to this extent.
it's amazing the primitive technology how you do all these things, and to think that humanity couldn't live like that anymore. congratulations to you and his team showed the best of living without modern technology.
and also without the toilet stuff, fish stuff, no-pants stuff, crazy sounds stuff, and ofcourse without the slapping and throwing of various foods and items
this guy gets more advanced with each video. in ten years he's going to figure out how to make a working automobile from his bare hands and in 20 he'll be making computers, in 30 years he will have surpassed the technology of us mere mortals and will be living in space.
Sandvich Om Nom Yeah. Grew a stack of yams and potatoes and tied them together with woven fabric. Melted some sand for a glass lens and VOILA! Primitive camera technology!
Other simple looms that would be around in the same era would be a weighted warp loom and a backstrap loom. Both will have the ability to weave finer cloth especially as you find plants that you can harvest fibers from. Great innovation with your loom building, and spinning a great rainy day activity.
Do you have any intentions on making glass? I know that you need special materials and not only sand, but if you were able to find what you need it would be pretty cool to see you make glass. You could probably use for a lot of useful stuff, like fire lamps, bowls, drinking glasses, etc. You could maybe use some Egyptian or roman techniques for that like in your other videos.
Amaizing! The way this guy just makes stuff from scratch and the result is awesome. Got some great wilderness survival tips thanks to this channel. Keep making great videos! If you would make a hammock out of tree fibe that would be the best!

I think the difference is people NOW know what to make and what to do to survive. I can google what i need to survive in the wild and how to make what i need to survive. What to eat, where to sleep, ect. While back then, they just had to go with the flow.
@@vv2304 what do you mean? People have evolved
Alright. That's it. I've seen enough to convince me. We need to start a Kickstarter to crowdfund a time machine to send this guy back in time to speed up the technological progression of humanity.
+Mrs Brisby I guess this kind of stuff is pretty ancient
Definetley
+Mrs Brisby HE has a Patreon page. www.patreon.com/user?u=2945881&ty=h
+Mrs Brisby plot twist: we actually will send him back in time and he is the reason why we are where we are right now (technologically)
My name is jeff How can he be there if we've sent him in the past ?
John Plant is a modern treasure. Thanks bro
I'm thoroughly impressed with this dude. A little jealous, even.

You know, you are the only person that I know of with only 16 videos and over 1 million subscribers. It's great.
And might I add, he never spoke in any of those 16 videos.
+kyle nagata probably the first youtuber to reach 1M subs without the stupid "PLEASE SUBSCRIBE AND LIKE THE VIDEO" shit
The ingenuity, diligence and discipline required to do these primitive tasks is quite impressive. Keep up the good work!
What type of wood you usted to Build that HD camera?
Lol
He is using a GoPotato
Okay okay We get it people need to stop with this same question
+xLink Kai so technically he grew it
+wenston91 very funny! wow! great job! keep it up! proud of you!

This man has singlehandedly built a small village just for the fun of it.

For shittin in the woods and hitting rocks together? Bow down, Tesla!
Would love to spend time and learn off this man. One day we will be living a primative life style if the stock market and technology crashes.
#handmadecloth #primitivecloth #khaddicloth
The wait for these are so worth it. So interesting what you can do!
Patience is a blessing
the moment you choose him over bear grylls
hahaha. yeah right!
different approaches. he shows you how live in wild, bear grylls shows you how to escape it
Bear Grylls is all about survival, especially in places like deserts etc. This guy is all about thriving in a forest with lots of natural resources
+Ahsan Shaikh Just a leather bag, medical herbs ,thin water pot and something non perishable to grow, then you are ready to hike back to civilization with tutorials of this guy....... if you want of course
@ Ahsan Shaikh
True, but it can be a lot easier to escape the wild if you first know how to live and thrive in it.
The sound of peeling bark is soooo satisfying to me
* peeling bark noises *
Satisfaction intensifies
These videos always give me ASMR.
nice, that's right! Why didn't I notice that?
Wow, I love your channel! Very relaxing stuff.
Now he can finally make a shirt
I think that requires other kinds of fiber, for example in the description he talks about banana fiber
+Nicolás Hurtado he's joking man
+Nicolás Hurtado he's joking man
Daniel Stevenson I thought he wasn't.Damn it,I thought I could distinguish this things XD
+Victor Löthner No, he's just fine the way he is. He can leave that to people who aren't in as good shape as he is. :P
This guy has a crazy amount of patience
undoubtedly the best channel on UA-cam that exists, because it does not post lying videos and I thank you for that
bro you should start your own nation. I would join...for a week or so
Before dying of starvation xD
+Kuchizuke he has a farm so food is good

Primitive Technology: Quarry on Venus
រឿងដំរីនិងចាបបាន
@r steevens There's this thing called the sun that shines light that reflects off the planets.
Look at this picture. www.google.com/search?q=pic+of+earth+from+saturn&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiJjJ3IpLneAhUSSN8KHUYLCR4Q_AUIEygB&biw=2048&bih=1042#imgrc=pqztuSbt4VuNoM:
The arrow is pointing to Earth.
0:46 How to basic before his modernization.
lol
His ancestors are smiling at him, can you say the same?
He doesn't have the eggs.
@@thomaszhang3101 lol fuck
This guy loves sticks. He uses sticks for sticks. Get him a brand new stick for Christmas, and gee whizz, he'll be happy all year. Great stuff John!

im ready for this guy to start refining iron and move to the bronze age
iron is not bronze
okay iron age then lol.
Well he would need some ore. And I don't think that he will find any in the middle of the forest ^^
There might be, who knows?
You should read the description for his charcoal making video.

His level of patience and focus is insane
this dude is brave walking around barefoot in the woods. I get scared I'd step on a thorn or somethin😂
his feet are probably destroyed by now
+Mario Or Derek destroyed? The guy probably has inch thick callus on his feet. He could stomp out a landmine at this point
Margenen true.
Margenen actually, that's kinda disgusting
And know whats even scarier?
He does this is Australia D:
Freaking Australia!
next time on primitive technology...
*how to make a working 4k television out of mud, woven bark fiber, and stones*
Omg 😂
(+GRAYSCO18 JC18) That's pretty much how amazing this guy is.
Next:
"How to make Anti-Matter WarpDrive spaceship fuel out of charcoal"
+choubidou13 growtopia
lol
it's amazing the primitive technology how you do all these things, and to think that humanity couldn't live like that anymore. congratulations to you and his team showed the best of living without modern technology.
Your patience is outstanding .. I admire what you do young man..
This guy is like how to basic but without the egg stuff
and also without the toilet stuff, fish stuff, no-pants stuff, crazy sounds stuff, and ofcourse without the slapping and throwing of various foods and items
and the fact that this is actually awesome compared to that bullshit.
This is nothing like "how to basic"
And it is an actual How to.
I get what you mean with the silence and the cuts between shots
this guy gets more advanced with each video. in ten years he's going to figure out how to make a working automobile from his bare hands and in 20 he'll be making computers, in 30 years he will have surpassed the technology of us mere mortals and will be living in space.
Thanks for not using any background music. Nothing beats nature's sounds.
This guy is amazing! Best channel on yt! Schools should be teaching stuff like this!
Man cameras back then were pretty decent!
Sandvich Om Nom
Yeah.
All technology showing not old peoples using 100 years ago but we forgot everything thanks to show again.thxxx
+Animal Mother some basic metal working would be cool too
GoneeMaster Yea but he already said he was planning on metal working, i wanted to bring up something new.
he did? I didn't know that
Yea he mentioned it in the comments when other people suggested metal workings. Although I'm not sure which video it was.
thanks
Amaizing! The way this guy just makes stuff from scratch and the result is awesome. Got some great wilderness survival tips thanks to this channel. Keep making great videos! If you would make a hammock out of tree fibe that would be the best!
I am sure if this guy had cotton seeds he could make a blanket out of it. The fact he created this much out of so little is amazing
Wow... 1 million subs without saying a word...
You don’t even need to watch the videos in order to know what he’s doing because it’s a completely different project. Truly amazing work
