Did anybody else start to worry he was just going to keep making bigger and bigger ovens?
Those are hearths.
that has to be one thing that sucks about this type of building....making those over and over lol

Dirt that becomes clay, dirt that becomes lime, dirt that becomes cement, dirt that becomes bricks... Man, this guy knows his dirt.
I know a thing or two myself. Okay, just the one thing. I can make dirt into mud.
just dont call him DIRTy haha

And one day, man becomes dirt.
You forgot say (MAN) Becomes dirt and so, great ending to a very fine story.😎
im just amazed he was able to make a webcam out of coconuts and bamboo.
and a camera man
I’m more amazed how he made the internet personally out of bamboo and clay
well if he didn't have a camera you wouldn't be seeing this
Also editing and sound room n productions Although intriguing to say the least. I deeply ponder just how fast is their internet data unlimited or WI-FI
He does not live like this... He is trying to demonstrate how primitive people lived or lives.

Will he find the ocean? I don't think so
How does this man stay so clean? In 5 minutes i'd be sweating and covered in dirt.
easy he lives near water i supose
I'm going to guess he isn't sweating because in another video he made he showed making some food from some type of bird, and this paste they make from some sort of a tree/branch. Cooked it all down and he used no sugar and salt, this is what makes us sweat... I guaranty you if you eat a diet of no sugar, no artificial sugar, there is about 50 different types of synthetic sugars, do not eat any of that and you'll notice a huge difference in sweating, I know I do, and no salt intake will also add to not raising your blood pressure which also makes you sweat....
From not sweating I noticed he's not slapping himself all the time to fight away the flying insects because I think they are attracted to the sweat? I'm betting this guy has a perfect score in all his bloodwork, he'll never die of some artery blockage... :)
@@MrJoeeye59 he is not slapping because he get used to insects. Same thing with people working in forests, after some time they dont mind about swarms of mosquitos.
Most east-asian people sweat very little. That's the way they are (yes i'm talking about race)
@@MrJoeeye59 low sodium intake isn't recommended , he must have a good diet but i don't think that he is not consuming any salt

Ancient water filtration system
Да, хочется хотя бы субтитры. Беру это, смешиваю с этим и получаю вот это...
This is unbelievable. The only problem is that we have no sense of time passing. It is hard to realize how much work goes into this project. You did a great job. Thanks.
Jack Mann d
After all, i dont understand the idea of this construction. Does it have some bath purposes? If he only mean to filter a few water, this can be realised by two communicated clay pots. Maybe less resulting volume, but thousand times easier.
looks to me like some sorts of Water Storage / "replacement Well"
the "Filter Part" is big enough to load / unload the materials with bigger tools
and also has a bigger filter capacity / duration
_maybe the bigger hole on top is also for Rain ... a wider area to let Rain pour into ... maybe_
its pretty ingenious. once the filter bed sets, it will rarely need to be "reset," saving lots of time and energy in the long run. he can constantly dump water from the creek (probably not that potable) or filter rain water into the upper tank and always have a large volume of clean water to use. however, the genius doesnt stop there. note the overflow tap in the main tank which dumps onto the surrounding concrete floor which then runs off into a small cistern that can be used to water plants, make mud, etc. once this is built, all the energy needed to do all these water gathering and filtering tasks are almost automated, neolithic style.
I guess its rather unsafe to keep such amount of water in this climate 24/7. You can wash and dry clay pot, then use it again and be quite sure its aseptic. Who knows what can happen in this "replacement Well" in a few days - bacteriums, little worms, micro water-plants. Keep in mind, that watering plants doesnt need filtered water, why else you may need such Well? And so much work done...

This here is my heart and soul idea of living. I actually did something similar to this on the land I was brought up on, while my mother was drinking her life away. We lived on a hill, with many trees which I used for many things making "Forts", and I learned a lot on my own, I didn't feel lonely at all. From the acacia trees you can make rope, and all sorts of things from the bark peeled-off in spring or winter. They are a hearty tree that grows amazingly fast. I've made baskets, ropes, and used the bark for tying together other cut trees. I had pine trees to use and make tree nests, but most of all, the wild animals made friends with me. I had a pet Virginia Opossum, named Contessa, that I loved dearly. She was sooooo sweet, and had babies which were a bundle of joy and so darn cute. I brought them to places I worked later when working with disabled adults. Slimer, they called him, one of the male offspring, loved rubbing his face at the nap of the client's neck to say, "Hello! I like you lots" and the rest were just as wonderful. I spoiled them with salmon, snails, vitamin-fortified sardine bait, etc.

Primitive hell, for not using any “ modern tools” this guy is doing some very impressive work. Just think what he could do if he only had a shovel,a pick axe,and a sturdy knife. Having said that I find these videos amazing and enjoyable to watch. The only thing I would like to see are some captions to explain what some of the materials are that he is using.
shovel, pickaxe and knife make your work easier and faster, but don't really make much difference in the end result. Also, pretty sure he could use them if he wanted, but he apparently prefers to show the advanced results achievable with stone age technology. Totally with you on the captions, though
Some channels ask their users to do crowd captioning (especially for translation), maybe he could do the same ?
With a knife, shovel and ax, it's easy to survive even where I live. Siberia is where Baikal. With a naked ass, we just do not survive))) We do not have jungles here, but the taiga .. In the evening, mosquitoes will devour to death in half an hour, if you are without clothes. Previously, this was the execution. They tied a man to a tree and in an hour he was dead.
Дима Димин Sounds Absolutely Horrific! I think I will stick to Devon, England. We do have Mosquitos here and Vipers and Weaverfish and occasional mysterious big cats but not that bad. I dont care if people think I'm 'nesh'. I will stick to the land of cream teas, haunted pubs, the Hound of the Baskervilles & oh a few other things. It can be creepy on the moor though, when a fog comes down and its so thick you have to drive along at walking pace, with the drivers door partly open hoping to keep track of where the edge of the road is and then, on the radio, there comes a report saying that three dangerous prisoners have escaped from Princetown Prison and on no account should they be approached and you should ensure all doors and windows are firmly locked.
Ron Walton the materials are pretty basic lots of it being clay dirt wood stone mud etc
Is anyone besides me impressed with that 1-BOWL he uses throughout the whole video?

I get that the white stone is limestone, and that after being roasted and mixed with water it becomes quick lime. I'm not sure what the black stone is: mica? Shale? And there must also be sand in the concrete? It would help to have recipes.
I think the black part is lignite its a type of natural coal. looks like he is using it over top to super heat the stones.
The black one is coal!
the white is not limestone, its some kind of branch or root, you can see it next to where he pounds it
you are talking about the white powder at the start of the video what he is talking about is diff he is talking about the rocks that are cooked in the furnace which I do believe is Limestone
The thing he crushed at the beginning, was it food or a rock? Cause he ate it with the bird...
Is it only lime stone and coal?
Not only does he know how to make concrete, think about the engineering. I loved the way he built up to a larger concrete kiln for firing the limestone. Just awesome...!
I have a question, due to absence of verbal input in the video...wouldn't it have been simpler to apply all the flooring materials at the point of maybe 3 or 4 bricks high, then complete the rest? instead of making it almost last process, requiring him to jump down into the structure & work around the mushy concrete floor, within the confines of the walls already built up around him? There may be a good reason that makes it necessary...I may have just missed that part?
I don't think you're talking about the larger kiln. Sounds like you're questioning the water filtration system, is that correct?
@@sharonking7727 Sharon, why don't you just ask the content creator directly, since he is the expert here? Why are you asking some random commenter, as if the man in the video wouldn't be qualified to answer?
Yes, he appears to know what he is doing. However, I am surprised he got any free lime on the first roast using wood. To do that, you have to heat the carbonate to over 800 deg C, which is a dull orange color. The second roast using charcoal definitely got hot enough.
Such skill, so simple - makes us all look a bit silly with our lack of knowledge about how to naturally sustain ourselves.

Lime reacts with water, producing calcium hydroxide. The reaction is exothermic, which means it produces lots of heat as a byproduct, hence the sizzling and steam coming out.

Best case scenario, have enough $$$$$ to have food, water & propane tanks delivered, as well as building supplies & tools for a simple Frame cabin. Stick & straw is great for tropical climates but cold or rainy weather needs appropriate offsets to accommodate potential extremes. There ya go...this young man just gave you & me & others like us, a plan for getting & keeping a life. We just have to want it (life, that is) enough to use our brains & skills to perpetuate something good for ourselves. Not wait around for a government or ??? to decide what we will eat & where & how we shall live. If you/I don't own your/my own with enough reserves to keep it...our individual destinies will always be vulnerable to someone else's domination...for better...or worse!
LOVED THIS VIDEO..WE NEED MORE LIKE IT..& maybe with a bit more verbal explanation of the 'ingredients' put into all that material the skillful young man utilized to create a way of "life" offgrid & out of reach of human predators 😀God bless our amazing planet Earth!! Thanks for the reminders!!😘
That's a prefect guide how to survive after WWIII :)
Thanks, very interesting video.
Mr Cabot you’re a total turd
yeah climate change isn't real. It is made up excuse for the government to step in and control our society. Allowing them to justify chemtrailing, poisoning the human population. Look it up
+EarthStriker83 ...what more did you need.. We don't need 10 hours of watching every single move with chatter competing with inappropriate noise that is featured in other videos as so called mood music!!! THIS was a pleasure..a chance to THINK...to SEE CLEARLY, not much explanation needed...just a chance to lock into a mental awarenes, of ones imagination & capabilities, if one focuses consistently on ones PURPOSE. This young man got his point across...amazingly well. He takes pride in his own human intelligence & healthy body. Its a great reminder of how simple but enjoyable life can be...if we are willing to give up the increasing compulsion to be an Entertained couch potato😉

this dude make concrete like a master chef...
I am an hour in is he possibly making a sewer treatment plant I'm confused
Pretty much yea
When you’ve binged watched Primitive Technology and can spot Primitive Life’s mistakes. 😂
I always felt like Primitive Technology was the superior of the two
I mean I hey both give us what we want to see.
Also just pointing out technology does google a lot of things you know he said these things in the subtitles of earlier videos
@@phil_matic so superior that the average lifespan was way under 40.
@@germa2k Did you not get what I was saying? I was saying that the UA-cam channel called Primitive Technology was better than the Primitive Life's channel.
Thankyou
I love how you make concrete with different aggregates for different tasks. Very professional
Do you know why he used clay for the blocks and sand for the mortar?
+Daniel Misseri - I think it's slate rather than clay he's using. I think he's using it because he has no access to gravel.
Stas Granin you speak concrete nice 👍. Did you know if he used hogs blood or any blood for that matter it would cure under water
+ Joseph Barron, since he grows fish and chicken, I'd say he uses a 50/50 mix of both bloods. Gives it a nice satin finish
@@StanislavG. Should I take this conversation seriously, or not? to an outsider peering in, it looks like jibberish between two madmen, i'd like an opinion.
These are some serious skills. .. in a SHTF moment,, I would hope to have friends and allies with these skills
His hands absolutely resist heat.
they were cooled off by then. lmao obv hes not picking up hot rocks
@@cheenis99 stay were steaming when he put water on them
checkurs :] not from heat, but from a chemical reaction. Burning limestone at high heat for a long time bakes out CO2 from the calcium carbonate that makes up the stone. The stone then becomes highly caustic “quicklime” or CaO (calcium oxide) and reacts with water to form Calcium Hydroxide (Ca(OH)2) which is used as mortar. This is a highly exothermic reaction so hence the steam.
I just wish he would have waited until the clay ovens he built had dried before he used them....lol...those cracks are driving me INSANE! lol
Hello. I have a quick question. So when you were grinding something around 2:30 i saw you pulling a rope. How would that be easier that hitting it directly? I have never done what you showed so i am curious.
Adithya, I can not wait for an official reply. My theory is that he can kinda' throw his arm/body weight into the smashing part, but then the weight on the arm uses gravity to put the hammer back in the upright position. Then, all he has to raise up is his arm/self, not his arm and the rock or log that does the smashing. So to me that ergonomically puts less stress on his lower back on the upstroke, making it more of an ab toner and shoulder builder than a lower back stress. After all, almost all of the other stuff he does in this vid requires lifting with the lower back.
Oh i see, but wouldn't it hit harder and get the job done if you hit it downwards is what i thought.
He's using gravity and a pully to lift a much heavier log. The weight of the log would be very difficult to lift and lower so repetitively using muscle power alone. The pulley redirects the force and takes less effort.
Actually, eavening, the pulley only reduces the amount of effort if there's more than one. A single pulley changes only the direction of force (you pull down on rope to lift up other side). Now, if you had 2 pullies, then your effort would be halved, and the distance that the other side of the pulley was connected to would also be halved. So...
Imagine you have a 20 pound weight tied to a rope, which is passed over a single pulley. When you pull the free end of the rope, you must use 20 pounds of effort to lift the 20 pound weight. If you pull the rope for a distance of 10 inches, then the weight also moves 10 inches.
Now, if you add a 2nd pulley to the configuration, things change. Now, you'll only need to exert 10 pounds of effort to life the 20 pound weight, but the weight also will only move half as far as you pull the free end of the rope. So, if you pull the rope 10 inches, the weight would only lift up 5 inches.
It's probably clearer if you can see images with a description so check out the "One wheel" and "Two wheels" sections of this page: www.explainthatstuff.com/pulleys.html
Hope that helps. Cheers!
Richard Harlos II, thank you! I knew there was something about more pulleys making less work needed. But also from personal experience, when you hammer with your hand and arm, there is the percussive rebound acting on your hand. Even a single pulley saves the work of controling the rebound and saves your hand of the percussive strike.
When I get anxious, I turn to this genre of videos to calm down.
I just want to know what that powder he put in his bird stew was near the beginning of the video. Anyone got a clue?
Mushroom maybe? I'm not sure tho I'd also like to know
Pretty sure it was coconut
Humming bird beek extract... lol
This is the best channel EVER!! I've been watching it for 5 hours.
I know it's impressive, but, and this may sound really dumb... but what did he make in the end? I'm pretty confused actually.
thats why im reading the comments. i want to know to.
rain gatherer and water cleaning system with drainage to the garden so the extra doesnt go to waste
water filtration system lol
OMG no steel toe cap boots, no hard hat, no safty goggles, no work gloves. I don't know how they manage to survive out there.
they stopped being pussies
Dude probably became invincible once he became immune to getting his toes stubbed
He is CAREFUL because he isn't an IDIOT...He knows if he screws up he is SCREWED... Attention to Detail is important!! And he has it, because it is his behind that is screwed if he doesn't!
How do you think mankind survived before technology?! Seriously!
He just gets on with the job. No f*cn with safety assessments, risk analysis, no ppe, no bulls*t. Probably starve to death by the time all that was organised!
HA soooo ... did anyone else catch that hes growing weed in there
Charles Smith yep!

~cooks bird without bleeding it or gutting it first~
That can NOT be a very satisfying meal.
I've made that mistake before.
If you don't bleed it, it tastes overpoweringly coppery (like a mouth full of pennies).
If you don't gut it first, you can literally TASTE the boiled bird shit that leeches out from the intestines into the broth, meat, and whatever else you've cooked with the meal.
(And that's not even mentioning the fecal diseases/bacteria that can survive those temperatures for upward of 15 minutes, which is considerably longer than it takes to cook such a small bird.)
TL;DR-
Always bleed and gut your food.
Not doing so is one of the many things that lead to plagues in the dark ages.
Chicken blood prolly gives stamina 🤷🏾
he is only burning off the fluff before he guts it. Same as you would do with a pig for its hairs
That's how you get feathers off a bird dip it in boiling water, notice the bird is still raw. And the bleeding, it wasn't that big. I think this guy knows what the fuck he is doing. I sure as fuck ain't gonna question him.
you cant show that on yt goofy he did all that tho
you commented to soon he did gut it
Im now realizing how useful a ruler and shovel would be right now
Aka bamboo
can i give you a sugestion? The next time that you cook some bird, and have some time, put less fire and the bird whithout water in the pot and add the water slowly(arperging whith your hands) for the fat comes aut to the skin to the bottom of the pot and it will fry your meal, whith a beultiful golden color and whith much more flavor. Great video man!!
Did you say nest time on purpose? It took me two reads to catch it. lol
I'm assuming you know how to cook a good wild meal. When it's time build our own primative village, ill come find you and learn your knowledge and vise versa. 😎
+Rafael Moro Lmao..my thoughts exactly.. he lost alot of flavor making his broth..I have been trying to figure out what he crushed and added to the meal.. as far as the ant goes...I hear they taste a bit like pepper.. perhaps it added a much needed bite to his meal... lol.. all kidding aside.. I am in awe of how skilled these men are...these videos are very fascinating to watch.. I do enjoy them very much.
karlevlogs It's not a wild knowledge, it's just a way to use the fat of the meal. You can use in kitchen also.
1step: CaCO3(Limestone)
+ heat energy(1000~1200 dgree) = CaO
2step: CaO + H2O -> heat energy, and it is material of concrete
The better brick quality is due to the CaO being brought to a higher temperature.
this is like my third time watching this I just wish i could distinguish rocks

This is probably how the pyramids of Egypt got started.
Nope. If he was to build even one pyramid in this speed, they would still not have been finished yet. The work started 13,000 years ago, if I have understood archeology right.
It looks like he put chalk in with that chicken!
Jan Garber I think it was some kind of dried root vegetable.
Jan Garber., It is casava (yuca) powder, which is a root that provides starch as a compliment in his diet.
@@charliedelta9501 I was actually searching the comments to see what plant he was using. Thanks! ♥
