I LOVE this! A panel can be used in many ways. The quilt police know where I live and can come get me, anytime, if they don’t like artists cutting panels. It’s ‘fabric’ and that’s what we do. The squares all make perfect little vignettes which enhance the artwork. It becomes far more pleasing when cut up, And how immensely satisfying to watch the cutting process.
These would be Great for an I Spy quilt or the center squares in a cathedral window quilt. You got my brain going this video's ♡
Cutting panels are so exciting and can be made into so many different things. I’m glad you did it with this panel with so many different colors 😊

What a terrific idea to use a panel that’s not really to your liking. The colours will have a cohesive but contrasting quality, and the bonus of interesting squares is wonderful.

Your recent videos ... starting with y'all at Bass Pro Shop ... have been helping me thru one of those f'n ruff health periods. Thank you, Darlene, Mr. Joe, and sweet Rocket pup. We hit 90*F here in south Texas today. 🧡
I love how the squares look ,they highlight the details of the panel. You don't see everything when it is a panel because there is so much going on in the picture.

I recently bought FIVE of this same panel - 4 to make Four Patch Posey quilt, and another one so I could cut it up - will probably put a solid inner border and use the cut-up pieces for the outer border. Hmm, I may cut the 5th into 2-inch squares and make a checkerboard border with those and some solids for contrast.
3.5" was a perfect choice! I love the tiny photos❤️

I love this. I bought a Christmas panel last year after Christmas for $5.00.i had no idea what I was going to do with it. I think I just might experiment!!! I like the puzzle idea with sashing. Omg, not enough time in a day.!!!!😂 Thanks Darlene.

3 1/2 inch squares was the perfect size to cut this panel into.

Yes, your panel will NOT be cut. No way I'm doing all that cutting, lol.
Will you be sewing it back together, it’s like a puzzle! What are you going to do with the squares? I actually love this idea for a panel and I would stitch it back together only using a 1/8th seam allowance instead of the standard 1/4th. 🤷🏼♀️🤔

My heart broke a little watching you cut up that lovely panel ... but I can see how using a whole panel wouldn't be very creative ... but it was so pretty ... ! :-) Thanks for the neat idea, though. It is a neat idea ... just ... lol ... I dunno ... thanks Darlene, for all you do.
Some people do ridiculous things on UA-cam just to get everyone to comment in negative ways because the negative comments cause more people to comment which cause more people to comment which cause more people to comment just like I'm doing. And it's a way of getting the video with more views more comments more likes more dislikes and that's how you make money
Wrong. That's not how I make money. Advertisers pay based on views and watch time. Comments and likes have nothing to do with that algorithm.
