Ilyass Abbad you do realize that would be pretty difficult. The only gun you can use would be a handgun. This cuts down your accuracy. The first shot would have all pedestrians running and make it harder to aim. Then you will have guards shooting at you.🤷🏻♂️ don’t think it will happen and more will come from barracks
Ilyass Abbad do you realize how far you’d have to be to shoot?? You can’t conceal either one to get close and then to hit a moving target from 50yards is still pretty challenging. They would have to be farther than that. I’m assuming you don’t own guns/ never shot one... the only one you could really do it with is a pistol and I explained why it’s unlikely.

It’s weird not seeing people there, but I salute our soldiers for this and all they do, thank you to all services members.
This is what courage and respect is.... nothing will stop these soldiers guarding the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier... nothing. That's what we all need during these times...

This needs to be seen by all Americans.
Sadly, this would be lost on many Americans. Too many are preoccupied with self-promotion and are obsessed with so-called social media. We have become a nation of Facebook fools, Instagram idiots, Twitter twits, etc.
These soldiers guarding the Tomb of the Unknowns are an example of doing something greater than oneself with no personal gain. Most Americans wouldn't understand that, as evidenced by some of the crass comments here.

I had flights booked to the usa from Australia for may holidays Arlington cemetery was one of the places I was going to visit sadly from a far at this time good to see guards still guarding the tomb of the unkown soldier
Yea...I was supposed to go for a field trip April 2nd and 3rd and it was canceled a month before. It was going to be my first time going to Washington D.C. and it cost 300-400 American dollars and I still havent gotten it back.

If you guys get the opportunity to chk out DC on your own or with school do so. It's worth it. You can easily do it for less than what the school is charging. Everything is free except hotels,food and transportation.
They don't do it for the audience. They do it for the tomb, to protect it at all costs.
This is an awesome place to check out, if you are visiting DC. The sementary is beautiful, well kept and there are other things to chk out. You get search at the entrance of the cementary. Don't rent bikes thinking you can bring them in.

A little boy must be disciplined and taught the proper values so that he can mature into a man. In today's world, concepts like "respect" have been perverted. Children are now taught to demand respect, although they do not deserve it. They are taught to disrespect everything and everyone. Boys are discouraged from becoming men, because it's not cool to be a responsible, respectable, and productive man in today's world.

I went here for a senior trip from Long Island New York and when we got here, it was burning hot, there was another school there to those kids man were so loud and disrespectful
Unfortunately, that's what our country has become. Children are not taught respect anymore. Instead, they are taught to be as obnoxious as possible. Today's children are entitled brats who love to act like wild animals where ever they are.
So what happens if the guard needs help due to a group of vandals? No radio, no live ammunition no taser, no cuffs.
There are cameras everywhere around the tomb. I’m sure they have a loaded mag under the jacket or somewhere so it’s ready to be put in the rifle. They may even have a hidden sidearm on them, also they have the razor sharp bayonet on the end of the rifle too.
They have a bayonet, and the NCOs carry loaded pistols.

I don't think their rifles have any bullets. All they have is a bayonet so they would probably not fight if someone with a gun showed up. But if someone tried to punch or stab them, I'm sure they would defend themselves and the Tomb

when 9/11/01 i was(20) 21 almost and i watch in horror and feeling sad about all the people in all foams of life lost souls and i just know what in few months after a wars since 2002-2011 and all the heroes that fallen and all came home OK but they saw and relive each day with PST and i am still sad about and i believe in highbring(god) but never gone to crunch
now with this passed few months with people are passing away my prayers are going out to the world wide for all
take each day and live fullest we are only human and i am in morning of lost of so many lives around the world

Nobody , the tomb is empty now because the family of the now identified unknown soldier requested for the remains to be removed and moved to a different cemetery. There are only three unknown soldiers left which are beneath the three white squares.
Who are they expecting to come? Aliens?
It's mostly symbolic, but they defend it from people who like to paint graffiti and damage grave stones

They are infantry Soldiers who most definitely and seriously guard the Unknowns. Their only mission is at the Tomb, not the entire Cemetery.

Not a warming hut. The box has a phone directly connected to the Quarters, a spray water bottle (to keep gloves wet) and a full length mirror. During full honor ceremonies, the Sentinel stands guard in the box.
Meanwhile at California beaches, groups of young kids told TV reporter:
"This only kills old people. This will not stop us from drinking and partying. "
Same with the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Moscow, Russia... 🇷🇺
