Makes me proud to have served over 30 years in the Air Force and Army watching these brilliant airmen!!! OUTSTANDING!!!!!!
I'm an army vet and a proud Airforce dad. This was an incredible display of discipline and precision.
Proud grandson of a Marine Corps vet... Not the same I know but he's the highest ranked soldier in the Marine Corps or among the highest ranked.

I was honored to have an attempt to be a drill team member in the Army. Failed by a small margin. It's so satisfying to perform these actions and it's a blast to show off to friends. Keeps you in shape too.
Many people don't realize the hours of practice that that these guys put in. They also have to be proficient in there career field. I was on my high school JROTC drill team for three years and my Air National Guard drill team for two years. I have watched the drill teams from all branches and they all put on one hell of a show. I am also an active duty Army veteran so I am proud to call all of them my brothers.
Would have been 10x better if there wasn't any cheering
1) we are loud and proud
2) they're supposed to remain disciplined and focused at all times no matter what

I’m in my high school colorguard so we do more artistic performances, but i have so much respect for this!!! it’s hard doing rifle, and the way they were so perfectly in sync, and spun them so cleanly??! i’m in awe!! and the fact that their rifles actually have blades??? WOW!! and i cant get over that Snapping of the rifles!! uGH SO GOOD!!! i’m at a loss for words- this is amazing. 👏🏼
Hey! I just graduated this year and they are INCREDIBLE. Also, the blades at the end of their weapons are called bayonets, and we’re historically used on the front lines of a battle to allow soldiers to be effective in the case of close quarters combat. This means if they were no longer at a distance to be able to fire at the enemy, they still had a blade on the end of the weapon to keep them safe. Also, the way they lay their hands flat on the rifle is reflecting inspection of their weapons, which happened when they were trained.
Dawg Im also I color guard and it's nowhere more artistic than this, this is some next level stuff

As a Former Marine I can appreciate the Precision, the Snap, and the Pop! These Air Force Brothers have their act together. But the crowd made it sound like they were at a Pep Rally.
Wow! Such a beautiful performance. The crowd in my opinion is disrespectful to the "Silent" Drill Team. Way too much hootin' and howling from them. It is awesome what the men are doing. People should learn how to respect those who are performing until they have finished. Then all of the cheering can be done. The men deserve respect while they are doing their routine. Other audience members may have the same thought. You're not able to get the full effect of the sounds made by the Air Force with the movement they do along with the sounds that come from the rifles and the speed. Listen to the beginning of A FEW GOOD MEN and you'll see what I'm referring to.
Jill Geddes I thought the announcer usually encourages cheering claiming that the croud can't break their concentration but I could be wrong.
Disrespectful (probably drunk) slobs in the crowd. Typical.
USMC Mom you’re right, that does not happen when the marines perform.
Completely agree. People should learn how to behave in such events.
Most of the hooting was from the airmen in the crowd. This isnt the Marine silent drill. Air Force has fun. I know where you are coming from though.
The Air Force has always been the summum of flying weapons, no matter on what flight level. Well done!

No, they are encouraged to yell and screech to show how concentration the honor guard are. I swear civilians get triggered for the soldiers.

Whoever's in the background yelling "Here we go, Here we go" and other stuff can you plz stfu. I'm trying to respect their skills and honor without hearing others telling them how they are performing. Thank you.
I think it might be friends of the drill team. When the camera pans to the crowd, you can see a group of airmen in the crowd.
it could be their parents supporting their sons
Yelling screaming and cheering them on is encouraged! It's how we get going! Trust me j know...I did this in the USAF!

Amazing but why do Americans have to screech and yell all the time?
those are mostly fellow soldiers. they are offering enthusiasm & encouragement. now i hate when i go to a concert & everyone in the audience feels they have to sing along.
s mast Why do you think at concerts songs have parts, where the lyrics are gone and the artist encourages the audience to sing along?
Esprit De Corps
Why not? Showing that kind of support mean the world to the airmen.
cause this is #murica
What they neglect to tell you is that the Marine silent drill team, besides drilling without sound, they drill with 11 pound M-1 rifles and 1 pound fixed bayonets, while every other drill team drills with dummy Springfield rifles designed for their lightness and balance. The M-1 on the other hand was designed to kill and is a real working weapon. The Springfields weigh a couple of pounds and are balanced to be spun. The M-1 isn’t and is much more difficult and dangerous to drill with.
They are just as good as the silent drill team of the Marine corps hoorah hoorah
Okay, I'm going to catch hell for this, but they give the USMC silent drill platoon a run for their money. Damn good work.
no other branch of the military can even come close to the usmc silent drill platoon. they're all good, every branch, but the corps' are just the best.
cruiser
I tend to disagree. After watching both teams, there are things I noticed.
For one you'll notice on the Silent Drill Platoon, the rifles that are tossed for inspection about 2/3 of the way through their standard ceremony card have no bayonets affixed. They are removed to mitigate danger to the Marines on the line. Air Force never removes bayonets, even when doing unders/overs or doubles. The most complicated maneuver I've seen the Silent Drill Platoon do with a fixed bayonet is a flat order, or something akin to it.
The other thing that inclines me toward the USAF team is that before all ceremonies, the announcer for the Silent Platoon requests that there be no flash photography during the ceremony, for the sake of not causing one of the performers to lose visual acuity for any period of time. Before a USAF preformance, the announcer encourages flash photography and intentionally instructs the crowd to yell and cheer as loud as they can. In his words: "You will NOT break their concentration."
Don't get me wrong, the Silent Platoon is imcredible, but the sheer bravado the USAF team displays, along with a perfectly matched amount of technical skill, has me putting the Silent Platoon as a close second.
A few years back they had a competition among the Armed Services drill teams in DC. USAF Honor Guards did beat the USMC silent drill platoon.
USMC. Copycats

Sad to see such small crowd. One must always carry soldiers in their hearts
As a retired Army guy I am impressed and proud of these Airmen! I do not find the cheering on as disrespectful at all. As a matter of fact, they are not at a tomb or some solemn veterans location. They are out in public showing off, proudly, I might add. And as mentioned, it's their colleagues that are cheering them on. They are kickin ass in their own way and their colleagues are confirming it
