I gave CPR to a bird many years ago. It fell into a water bucket and was floating motionless in the water. I took it out, held it upside down by its legs and gently squeezed (as in CPR) it's "chest". Water poured out. After a few minutes the bird revived and after another few minutes it flew away. I often wondered if the little guy survived or maybe got pneumonia and died. Whatever happened it was a very long time ago.

i recently found a dying duck. It was in the water and struggling to keep its head over the water. At first i assumed that it was sleeping (i have almost never seen a duck sleep or learnt about them so i wouldn't know) so i left it. I tried turning it over after a bit but it just went back. I thought something was wrong so i brought it on land and gave it cpr. Later on, others had seen what happened and called some people over. They took it away in a towel and (hopefully) it survived.

Related to the upside down roller coaster: When I was nine, I rode one of these with my two older sisters at the fairgrounds and it stopped like this for five minutes or so. We were all freaked out, but it became really scary when me and my sisters realized that my seat belt was not tight enough across my body so I began slipping. They struggled to hold me up and the entirety of everyone on the ride were screaming for the operator to bring the roller coaster carts down because I was in danger of falling to my death. The operator had stepped out and was nowhere to be seen for that five minutes. Eventually the ride was brought down and everyone got off. I remember so disoriented and scared my sisters brought me back to my parents. I don't remember what happened after that, but I kind of hope that the operator was fired.

I currently work in a mosquito research lab in the department of UF Entomology. Mosquitos are attracted to the carbon dioxide in our breath. Interestingly, mosquitos are attracted to those with a higher metabolic rate (which explains why some people are basically mosquito magnets). Carbon dioxide is also a popular choice for various mosquito control devices and many use dry ice for this reason!

people who study mosquitos (Culicidology) say: they like when you have a strong smell (like BO smells and breath cuz of CO2), but blood type preference in various populations does appear to exist. It actually can be a very good idea to wash your fruit (especially strawberries) in vinegar water. It kills mold spores, which means your berries or other delicate fruits are very unlikely to go moldy on you.
For the same reason, you can sometimes use vinegar to deal with, eg, a mild yeast infection, or dandruff. The yeasties don't like the acidity.

3:37 To be fair, I've noticed a huge change in the taste of fruits these days. I've always washed my fruit exactly the same since I was a kid. For some reason I noticed the same very strong flavor present on all of my fruits and vegetables. It made it so I couldn't actually eat them because it made me lose my appetite. My wife started washing them with baking soda added to the water and letting it soak for a minute. The flavor was gone. It just tasted like fresh fruit. I'm convinced there's been a change in the pesticides being used and I was tasting that (or my pallet developed more for some reason) and washing with baking soda removed that extra funk from the pesticides.

@@foam3132 From what I know there is simply inconclusive evidence and lack of research into the subject for us to answer that, but the current tesis is leaning towards no, as there is simply lackluster evidence of this being the case. However, apparently having recently ingested a beer or something sweet, being pregnant, sweating or even just being in a group of people does actually increase the mosquitos attraction towards you. All but the last can be explained by the body odors you produce, like sweat having lots of acids that mosquitos like or how pregnancy alters hormone levels and therefore the body odor. And the last one is due to the higher CO2 density in the air, thusly letting the mosquitos know that there's living things, probably with some suckable blood, nearby.

so yeah, when i was a kid, i had ALL of those red flag headache/migraine symptoms. Doctors never did anything. said it was just stress. i mean yeah, i had anxiety and ADHD, but these migraines RULED MY LIFE! my parents thought i was exaggerating. the pain is infinitely better now, but honestly I'm lucky i didn't end up with something horrible happening to me

6:25 It might be healthier, but for people with scoliosis and EDS this feels like a much safer way to get things done without causing a disk slip or dislocation.

Yeah I think it's good for people who have some type of physical ailment that prevents them from working out naturally, but unfortunately these types of procedures and technologies aren't being marketed towards people like that. They're being marketed to otherwise healthy adults who would benefit much more from doing regular exercise. But it's all about the money with these companies.

You can work all these muscles without the strain of crunches, etc. Yoga is a great example (assuming it's a real teacher and not just some "power flow" thing. )🙏

I have Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. I’d love to see more about it on your channel sometime! There’s a lot of misconceptions about it that even a lot of doctors have. Not all of course, but some do.

I don’t want to hear anyone crying about things being “not natural” unless they live outside and poop on the ground cause toilets and houses aren’t natural either but I don’t hear them griping about that.

Didn’t Mythbusters find that air dryers are less sanitary if you don’t completely dry your hands but that it IS more sanitary when you dry your hands off completely?
