As a huge fan of DGD especially the Tilian era, I’m nothing but excited for the new era. Tilian was great in DGD but it’s time for a breath of fresh air, which these 2 bangers absolutely are

I agree to your point about not missing Tillian in these songs. No doubt that Tillian is great at what he does but I’m so excited for this new era of DGD.

These 2 songs are the best DGD songs released hands down. I have them on repeat
these songs were actually written in tilians key and with tilian supposed to be the clean vocalist. tilian even said they recorded the songs in his house then when he got kicked they rerecorded it with andrews vocals. i dont expect their songs going forward to sound like these two.
Just saw Eidola live opening for Periphery and they where definitely heavier than last time i saw them. Andrew sounded great live and think he will do well as lead clean vocal for DGD.
Saw him take over for Tilian the last time they came to Dallas. He did amazing. Have also seen him with Eidola but that was years ago.

At first listen I thought they got Michael Bohn as their new singer. Andrew's vocals are sensational
Never was a fan really but these 2 songs with Andrew are good stuff and now I'm interested.
As someone who has listened to dgd for most of their life, I really have to say that while I loved Tillian's voice, I completely agree - I didn't miss him on these songs. I noticed on some of the newer releases that Andrew was given more time, and those were my favorite parts of the songs (plus whatever Jon is doing, he really deserves to be more in the spotlight, which i think is the plan).

Didn't like Straight from the heart much the first time I heard it, but it's definitely growing on me. Speed Demon is awesome and I'm super stoked about the future for DGD! BTW! I don't remember if you guys checked out the latest album from Galleons? If you didn't, you're missing out! I also think you would love the album "Odyssey" by Valiant Hearts (Tom Byrne is the singer in both Galleons and Valiant Hearts).

late but the only 2 members that have been there for every single album has been Will Swan and Matt Mingus. Jon was on almost every album other than Happiness
Personally I'm really going to miss Tilian, I felt like his voice paired with the instrumentation of this band was truly one in a million. That being said, I do think Straight from the Heart is a promising direction for the remaining members of the band. I tend to think the clean vocals in Speed Demon were very likely written by and for Tilian while he was still in the band, so it doesn't feel as natural with Andrew singing it. For me he shined much brighter on Straight from the Heart, and that ending bit was sick
Love the new songs. But interested to see how the tillian songs sound live
You guys need to check out Secret Band! It's basically DGD but with only Jon as a vocalist, they make a lot more heavier music too

Have enjoyed what I’ve heard on and off, but not really been a fan since the Jonny Craig era…but on first listen, think Speed Demon might be my favourite track from them since DBM. Impressed.
It was good, but it’s literally just Secret Band +. I really enjoyed the angelic vocals of Tilian.
As a bassist, I can tell you that Tim’s riffs and fills are sorely missed to me.
So Interested for new formula, its time to move on tilian 😂

I think Andrew hits all the same vocals as Tillian did, but I think Andrew has more range.
He definitely can not hit the same highs as Tilian, but he doesn’t have to. He’s got a strong voice that is more versatile. Dude can croon, yell and scream while pumping iron. Andrew’s a beast.

Love John and the heavier feel. However the cleans just don’t quite do it. They have always had the best of the best. I honestly think they should just bring Johnny back. At least for features at the minimum. Johnny has been clean for almost two years now. The longest he has ever been clean.
Is it bad that after playing these two songs on repeat, i started skipping more songs ft tillian..dont get me wrong i loved the songs with him but my goodness these songs are sooooo goood!
