The way I clicked this video so fast, I never expected you to react to this band. Thats crazy. Im glad you liked this. This band has a major cult following
Dance Gavin Dance has different era's. This era you just heard is with Tillian Pierce. I believe he joined in 2012. Johnny Craig kicked it all off though.
For me dance gavin dance is one of those bands that i dont really listen to like that, but whenever i happen to listen to one of their songs i fuck with it. Btw if you like that high pitch shit then try listening to King for a Day by Pierce the Veil
Honestly happy you're reacting to DGD. As soon as I saw how much you liked Panic at the Disco's "I Write Sins, Not Tragedies," I knew you would probably be a fan of post-hardcore bands like DGD. If you're looking for similar vocal/music styles look into these bands: Hail the Sun, A Lot Like Birds, Kurt Travis, Circa Survive. "Human Target Practice" by Hail the Sun or "Vanity's Fair" by A Lot Like Birds are bangers. "Desperate" by Kurt Travis is also top tier for just beautiful vocals, and was also the lead singer of A Lot Like Birds.
My favorite band of all time. Someone tell him to listen to Jonny and Kurt era too tho lmao. This guy gets it. Thank you for the wonderful reaction. 🥲❤
If Rob likes unique voices I feel like he would enjoy listening to something by Billy Talent, that lead singer's voice isn't like anyone elses I've heard.
Knowing the kind of rock music you’ve mentioned liking in the past I’m not at all surprised that you vibe with these guys I’m more surprised I didn’t think of them sooner as a group you’d like
Did not expect a DGD track on here!! Been a long time fan of them. I think you’ll like Synergy and Head Hunter, they’re a bit newer in their discography. Groovy. Anything off Mothership is a certified bop. Tree city sessions are good for ideas on how they sound live. I love seeing people find this band, they were a hidden gem for quite a while.
This is my very favorite band. They now have three vocalist. 4 if you include when Will Swan raps. Will Swan is one of the greatest guitarists of our time, imo. His mind just works different. You should definitely check out their album "Jackpot Juicer." It is their newest album and they just keep getting better. I love them so much! Lmao
Their guitarist Will Swan is nuts, and hes occasionally a 3rd vocalist doing screams or rapping. His noodly play is really influential to the current post-hardcore scene as a whole (swancore)
Hip hop has a spot for DGD! I’ve been rapping since I was 15, I’m 30 now and I pull inspiration from this band left and right! So much versatility and talent in this group! Easily one of my favorite bands, gotta check out their whole discography, they’re amazing!
Duuude if you like this style, check out the band Alexisonfire! They're not as poppy sounding as this, but they have a similar thing going on with beautiful high pitched vocals harmonising with intense screams, plus really cool guitar riffs and that super high energy punk kinda flavour. Have a listen to "Accidents", or "Hey, Its Your Funeral Mama". Both bangers from 2004, every angsty white boy used to rock out to them back in the day.
Would love for you to listen to an older song by DGD so you can compare Tilian’s voice to Jonny Craig’s. Tree Village or Carl Baker would be my go-tos Edit: adding to this, Chucky vs The Giant Tortoise. You’re welcome They’ve also covered That’s What I Like by Bruno Mars and it’s an absolute BANGER
Dude, you might as well get lost in some of the Swancore bands. Sinavar, Royal Coda, etc. Will Swan is a juggernaut. And if you enjoy the high pitched androgynous sound, then you should listen to some Hail the Sun. Donovan Melero vocals are what you are looking for.
Man I really want to see what your reaction is going to be to Primus. "My Name is Mud," preferably. I'm pretty sure there's going to be a lot of "what the FUCK is happening." On a less wtf note, you might like IAMX, similar high vocals to DGD.
Would love to hear you react To Eddie Van Helen guitar solo.. One of the Best guitar solos you will probably ever see. His range and skill is unbelievable.
Never heard of these guys. They're not my thing. Just found your channel and started working my way through your stuff. You had me worried at first, especially with Tool, but I'm glad you gave them another chance. I don't think they would've let you live that down. Please Do Radiohead!!! Creep is their popular Karaoke song, and will probably get you lots of views. The band hates that song though, and I'd LOVE to hear you react to something more obscure, like No Surprises. Por que no los dos?
Yeah, I’m sorry, I just can’t get on board the entitled scream. Every time I hear a band that has this sound I get this vision of kid yelling at his Mom and just needs punched in the mouth! Just my 2 cents. Listen to “The Remedy” by Puscifer.
@@orlandorodriguez8270 yeah the kid yelling at the world because things aren’t going their way or handed to them like they think it should be. Yes, I’m Gen X. Just my opinion. Doesn’t mean much in the grand scheme of things. But it’s the image that first enters my head.
Ain't no effect on Tilian's vocals. Man's just built different. This band is in my top 3 of all time. Nonstop certified bangers. You gotta check out some songs with their past vocalists. Blue Dream is an absolute masterpiece classic with Johnny Craig, a very soulful/R&B sounding guy. Carl Barker is a fan favorite with Kurt Travis, a very poppy vocalist with a little edge. They sound almost like completely different bands, but their guitarist Will Swan and Drummer Matt Mingus have held down the fort from day one, so their foundations are solid as hell.
yesss i’m so glad you liked this one!! i’m constantly trying to put people onto it 😂 and i really appreciate that you did the research on the vocal/screaming instead of waiting for the comments to correct you!!
I was never a big fan of early DGD but I saw them live at Vans Warped Tour in 2017 and loved them ever since. Dudes are crazy talented. I recommend every song off the Mothership album. My favorite would be Chucky vs. The Giant Tortoise.
They have a crazy good discography. They have had 3 separate lead clean vocalists. The band started in 2005 with Jonny Craig as their vocalist (think beautiful soulful voice), then they let Jonny go when he had trouble with drugs and missed the first song of one of the concerts. Then they had Kurt Travis he is an amazing vocalist and they had him for 2 albums before they decided they were going to try their luck with Jonny Craig again when he said he was clean, they released an album and then went on tour which kinda triggered Jonny to fall back into addiction thus causing him to be kicked out yet again. Which leads us into their current singer, Tilian Pearson (the singer in the song, and yes he sounds like this live too!) Recently they did add a new singer Andrew Wells (also very talented) as a backup clean vocalist as well as second guitar. Their harsh vocalist is Jon Mess for every single album except "Hapiness" where their lead guitarist took the role of harsh vocals. If you want to listen to a song with a similar vibe with the same vocalist I would suggest checking out one of their songs called "Inspire the Liars". It has the same lineup of band members and is from arguably their best album. If you want to hear something a little heavier, but still with the same line up of members (+ Andrew Wells) I would suggest their newest single "War Machine." If you would like to hear something from them by a different lead vocalist I would suggest something like "And I Told Them I Invented Times New Roman" which has Jonny Craig as the lead vocalist. Or if you would like to hear something with Kurt Travis I would suggest something like "Me and Zoloft Get Along Just Fine" or "Uneasy Hearts Weigh the Most" Sorry for such the long comment, this band has a long history and so it's difficult to fit it into short and concise comment haha.
Bro this is one of the best first DGD reactions I've seen! I love how you dove into the singing and instrumentation. Also, that shit "Bad motha fucka" had me rolling 😂 More DGD!
If you like the higher pitched voice, absolutely check out Coheed and Cambria. "Welcome Home" or "In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth" are both good introductions.
After watching your rage reactions, I just knew a lil math rock and djent-y music was your vibe. I recommend more DGD, specifically Inspire The Liars and Evaporate (personal fav). But I'd also recommend the band Issues and the song "Flojo" from them.
Hahahaha my guy! I sing this on the way to the gym with my girl sometimes now lol. Also, I know you do anime reactions. RIP to our guy Akira smh 🙏🏾 legend
They have a very diverse discography to let some members show off their stuff. If you like the lead singer's voice you might like "Here comes the Winner" he has some good vocal moments in there
More. Their catalog is impressive. So much range. So much talent.
Cant say i was expecting Dance Gavin Dance lmao I think post-hardcore would be exactly your style
I'm *begging* for some more post-hardcore stuff on this channel! Maybe even some modern metalcore!
You know it's a banger when you close your eyes listening to it and when you open them you see Rob bobbing his head the exact same way as you.
The way I clicked this video so fast, I never expected you to react to this band. Thats crazy. Im glad you liked this. This band has a major cult following
Same 😂
Also same
Bro listen to some early stuff with their first singer johnny Craig, like spooks or and I told them I invented times new Roman.
@@DepthSky-f4x oh I'm so old I literally found them in a cd store for their first album. That's my favorite one
This is one of my favorite DGD reactions of all time haha
No for fuggin real! I died at “something they play at Target or something!”
Lol how many UA-camrs actually react to DGD? It's pretty rare
It warms my heart seeing so many people find DGD through reactions like this. :) They’re a great band.
I didn't expect you to dig this genre... there's a massive amount of music a lot like this.
This song goes so unbelievable hard! Glad you checked it out, I've been obsessed with it for a solid 2 months since I first heard it.
Wow, I've never heard of them, but they fricking DESTROY.
Their catalog goes all the way way back, tons of amazing albums. I remember buying their cds back in 2008!
Dance Gavin Dance has different era's. This era you just heard is with Tillian Pierce. I believe he joined in 2012. Johnny Craig kicked it all off though.
they just cant seem to find a singer that doesn't do something stupid and get kicked out of the band
@@TheRealAb216 True, but yet they have managed to put 3 of the greatest clean singers in the game in the spotlight as a positive outcome.
@@TheRealAb216it’s been 9 years! lol not like Tillian just joined and got booted.

Isles and Glaciers for both on one track lol

I love how happy this song is while talking about addiction. Also that's his voice. No effects.
New band imma have to check out
wow yet again i have found some great music i had not heard before from this channel
My favorite band of all time. Someone tell him to listen to Jonny and Kurt era too tho lmao.
This guy gets it. Thank you for the wonderful reaction. 🥲❤
#1 band ever!
dance gavin dance is fucking sick, you should check out Feels bad man or Strawberrys wake by them too
Strawberry's wake for sure! Always puts me in a good mindset and keep things in perspective!
"Here comes the winner" or "Evaporate" :)
There style transition is so frickin' good. I could listen to this song over & over, & never get tired of it ❤
If Rob likes unique voices I feel like he would enjoy listening to something by Billy Talent, that lead singer's voice isn't like anyone elses I've heard.
Bro, your next song from them gotta be Inspire the Liars. I feel like you'd fuck with that one HARD
yes!!!!
This is one of my favorite dgd reacts- and I’ve seen them all😂
AHHH! Dance Gavin dance is SOOOOO good! I’m so happy you enjoyed it! I recommend anything off of their album mothership, it’s absolutely amazing

DGD is a very, very special thing

They got a song called betrayed by the game I think you fuck with that
As a fellow Hip Hop fan, I think Spooks by DGD would be a good listen to hear Will Swan drop some bars (:
