  • I’m Angela, and on today’s episode of Women that Kill, we look at Allie Stinnett, who killed her ex-boyfriend. The case revolves around a love pact that the couple made just before the incident. The case gives us insight into rural America during the Roaring 20s.
In 1920, more people lived in cities than in the country for the first time in U.S. history. And there were many apparent differences between the two populations, even if they were all Americans.
Urban and rural life had many differences. The cities were more ethnically diverse, with a growing immigrant community. It also was more developed, having electricity and mass transit systems. Rural life was more traditional and agricultural. There was often no electricity or running water. Traditional tasks for centuries, such as milking cows, gathering eggs, and raising crops, continued to be the focus of people’s days.
Often history books focus on the historical experiences of people living in the cities. Today's case helps us better understand rural communities and the importance of traditional values.

I LOVE this type of video! Something that would be helpful is to show pictures, that relate to the story, on screen.
