I once covered from Dublin as a Journalist the 'Liverpool Comedy Festival' in the early 1990s where Dara performed... (Artists often don't particularly take to journalists...) He was the most wonderfully friendly guy, indeed, upon finding I had no proper friends in Liverpool, he invited me to dinners, lunches and 'get togethers' with other artists and people involved in the festival. He introduced me to loads of other people. EVERY TIME over the weekend when I'd bump into him, he'd ask if I was okay, had all I needed and he was SUPREMELY friendly and utterly lovely and polite. (THIS was before he EVER appeared on Mainstream British TV...) ABSOLUTELY GENUINE BLOKE... xx SF

Very often, comedians are rather shy and self-effacing when not actually 'on-stage... (Not all of them, but most...) DARA O BRIAIN is a regular bloke.... Can't fault him. xx SF
Dara's stand-up carries a colossal amount of spoken word script; added to dance routines, audience participation. He verbally interacts with their line of work, pulling that apart for authenticity sake. Which he remembers & comes back to later. Flipping from one story to another, then back again not forgetting where he's left off. His performance is truly mind blowing. This isn't wordy hype for seeing is believing.
Went to see him in Dublin, thinking he's ok I think could do his standup 😅. By the end I reliased most top comedians couldn't do his gig. Unbelievablly quick and hilariously funny. One of the greatest 🙌

Oh Dara, Dara - well done for giving a couple of 14 year old lads one of The Best Nights of their lives. Ahh you're a sweet man x (and as mad as a box of frogs)
In the bit, when he was talking to those 14 years old boys he touched upon a thing, that sort of... bugs me. I really like him, i find his stand up funny as hell, but he suffers from the same thing, any other stand up comedian suffers. From Bill Burr(he is my favourite, and he suffers from the "thing" the least) Robin Williams, through Louisc C. K. All the way to people like Joe Rogan. Namely- they open their mouth on subject they have no fucking idea about. Never researched them, maybe read some shit in the internet, or had some encounter with the subject of the joke, but they have never actually made an effort to try and understand whole thing, and why it is as it is I get that these all are just jokes, that there is comedic exaggeration, and you could say, it gets on my tits, because i have different opinion, and it touches me personally. Maybe. But judging from audeince reaction on jokes like that, i get that people generally find that they have same perspective as comedian, and instead of just laughing they whistle and cheer. That means many, many people are fucking morons, and they are allowed to live, vote and breed. That really pisses me off Sorry
I pretty much maxed out Battlefield 4 on the PS4 so I tried it on my friends PC. Dara perfectly explained how I played on PC. The gameplay was impressive but I was utter shite...
52:30 so genius how he builds that moment, and the two boys in the front with their look of confused anticipation have no idea what's about to happen. Imagine the parents. They never thought they's come home from a night of comedy having to explain to their sweet innocent babes the difference between a tear and a cut, and why that triggered such a reaction from the women in the audience.
