I like the new channel name! I never knew that you could just brush on the paint. I have an old Tesla Model S p85 and my brake calipers look 7 years old.. I thing i would like to with satin black.
You can decanter spray paint and use it as brush on. The spraying isn't what makes it work. It is just more convenient than brushing sometimes and you don't get brush strokes but if you are careful with a brush you can avoid brush strokes appearing
I used rust-oleum 2,000 degree primer, G2 Green, then topped that with Dupli-color Shift blue to green, and finally Rust-oleum 2,000 degree ceramic clear coat
Yeah i want to paint mine but can’t have car out of commission for days and will only do so if I can apply automotive clear after paint so guessing since he didn’t want to go through process of spraying is why he didn’t apply. If anyone knows of a good paint clear please direct me to where you can get it.
So my concern with doing one wheel at a time was the paint would dry up before I was done but appears this was not an issue. You did one coat and waited 15mins for the second or in total 15 mins for both coats? I'm planning to use the G-2. Nice work!
Hi brian, I love your videos!! How many coats do you recommend? Do u recommend a primer prior to the por15 paint? Lastly, if I wanted to added a decal should I spray high heat clear over the vinyl decal?
I didn't realize the Audi had no studs coming out of the wheel hub. That must make it considerably more difficult to re-mount the wheel. With the studs coming out of the hub it's pretty easy to lift the wheel onto the studs and then apply the lugnuts.
Brian is the Bob Ross of brake calipers!
Tap tap tap. Happy little calipers.
That blue looks great!
What a beautiful looking car...
Blue looks good; nice and not too flashy. Maybe I will try this on my 3 some day.
Go for it!
How did you prep ? Thanks. Looks great !
Caveman🤦♂️😱REALLY BRIAN … YOU THINK I COULD DO IT 🤷♂️🤔😎😍😍😍
Karen's calipers look awesome in that blue color, Brian! I love your channel's new name, because it really ties in your future with your past.
Thanks so much!!
@@i1Tesla You are very welcome, Brian!
Decals bro!! Looks good- I use G-2 for all my calipers. Stuff works great…
Do you know if I can retro fit boom box on a 2019 M3.? I know off topic. But you good with these things
Im going to try and do that to my 2020 Y

I see this is 3 years old, how did it hold up over time?
One can is enough for 6 calipers? I got two more E brake calipers so 6 in total
GREAT video...curious, after applying the 2 coats, did you use some form of sealant or gloss?
Was thinking the same
No one ever does i seen many videos even from the maker

Brian, wondering if you could get a link to your headlamp that you were wearing? Thanks, Vince from WA

How many coats? And is one can is enough because I have 2 more electric calipers.
How has the paint held up after a year?

Did u have to purchase more than one paint can (8oz), to paint all 4 calipers?
One can will do 3 coats on 3 different cars. There is a lot on the can

Good one Brian. Thinking about doing this to my Model 3. Do you know if painting the calipers will affect the warranty?
Shouldn't effect the warranty but Tesla is weird sometimes

The whole time I was scratching my head wondering why there’s no wheel stud 😂
The wheels are hubcentric so it rests on the hub, there is usually a wheel hanger you screw in to align the wheel
I never owned the car wit studs and never had problem to put the wheel on. Actually this is better because it is much easier to clean the hub.
Have owned both stud and non-stud wheels never noticed much of a difference in installing them between them
How did it hold up two years later
perfectly
You don’t have to sand them first, and what about adding a Tesla decal on them. I would like to do this to my model 3.
You can sand then if you want. but unpainted brakes don't need the sanding. I added the vinyl after they dry, the next day.
so no primer because it was already painted?
Wow too easy!!!
0:35 there is really no manufacturer who makes a wheel where the center is not rusting.
I bought some black paint to clean up the brake so that doesn't rust
No clear coat needed? Ill think I’m gonna try it to save the thousands buck i got has a quote!
No clear coat needed at all
No clear coat epoxy ? No 2 k clear ? 😅😅😊
i1 EVs?
Can I still buy the now old Brian's EV Outlet shirts? I was getting used to it
Not that many people where getting use to it. But yes you can still buy the shirt
Missing some closeups after the 2. coat….
Are you going to be honest about what you don’t like about the Audi?
Yes I will do a likes and dislikes
DO NOT PAINT your Tesla calipers!! if leased they will charged you a few thousand dollars fee at return!!
