Gen alpha was born when social media was getting really popular but as a gen Z myself I got my phone when I was almost 11 😅and I got one of the old phone with only game and UA-cam 😮💨. while the gen alpha are getting phone at 5 years old and most of the time I ask where the heck are they're parents? I know that parents are busy but why would you let a 5 year old go on tiktok and let them buy make up? I still had kid makeup as a 11 and didn't get makeup and skin care until I was 13 😭
I think the biggest difference is a gen developing a bit with tech vs full on putting them on it. As i grew up things were limited and internet was considered dangerous and limited. Unlike kids now who parents for some reason just give it to them. I also was not allowed to watch things much other than tv cause my parents thought it would ruin my eyes. Honestly some parents now dont seem to care and let them be. While others I seen are very protective and like raising them like gen z was raised. I hope people are better parents and dont just give or allow their kids do whatever.
Gen alpha are raised on an entirely different internet. The internet as a Gen z was so much different. While a lot of young Gen Z such as myself were raised on the internet, I had early internet fandoms like Five Nights at Freddy’s. Whereas these kids are getting the beauty influencer stuff.
It’s depressing because these children will likely end up regressing and practicing childish behaviours as adults considering the fact they have no childhood right now.
just like prodigies...Mozart,in fact, spent all his childhood playing and composing music, and when he become officially an adult...he loved to have fun like a teenager! I can't imagine a 26 yo like this...this can't be the future generation!!!
As someone who used to act so much like an adult when I was a kid, I can 100% say I started regressing once I got into high school. I 100% agree with what you commented
As someone who is now 25 and partakes in regression…absolutely yes. It’s fun and all when it’s something you chose of your own volition. But when it comes from trauma relating to being sexualized as a child, emotional neglect, poverty, growing up to fast, being exposed to things that are not age appropriate, etc…..that shit hits hard and make it hard to handle/cope with real life shit if you don’t actively work to master those skill💔💔💔
Kids aren't supposed to be "pretty". They're supposed to be kids. When you're seven, you don't wear that dress because it's your colour or because you like the way your body looks in it, you wear it because it looks like your favourite Disney princess and has sparkles. Kids shouldn't be aware of their body in those ways, and while I understand that makeup can be a completely safe hobby if used well, it can be seriously harmful and damage you in so many ways if used without the proper emotional intelligence and understanding (which these kids could not possibly have), not to mention the health implications some of these products can have for children
My younger sister and I were only 2 years apart, but since she was like 2 she would just stare at herself in the mirror on and off for hours... I was older and would play around. My parents would tell my sister to join me but she wouldn't want to (we're both girls). We regularly wore dresses, but she was 4, she cried when my parents put her in a particular dress. When asked why, she told them it was because it made her look fat. They were shocked to hear it and forced her to wear it anyways Throughout her childhood they would tell her she's vain and and she started to feel guilty to focus on her looks so much, now as an adult she doesn't think of it at all. If she even puts on makeup she starts feeling bad and guilty. I think our parents pushed her too far in the other direction imo Honestly, every kid is different. Parents shouldn't pressure kids into anything, let them explore whatever they want themselves naturally
this is why in my family no one is allowed to wear makeup until theyre at least 13. when I was younger, this rule was kind of frustrating, but looking back I am so glad I wasn't exposed to it earlier
i mean.. everything you said should be true for adults though too. adults shouldn't feel like they have to be pretty. Adults should pick clothing because they like it, not because of the way their body fits into it. in an ideal world, adults would not be aware/self-conscious of their bodies. and there are many physical and mental health implications of beauty products on adults. the issue is that children are always going to copy what adults do, that's part of growing up and learning how to be an independent and functional human. the issue is that we adults are not setting a good example. if adults stopped engaging in these universally harmful behaviors, children would never even think to emulate them. we gotta start taking accountability to participating in and perpetuating a culture with shitty values.
In 20 years, these kids will HATE their parents for letting them ruin their skin with glycolic acid and other stripping agents. These parents have no idea the skin damage that can happen when you put these types of ingredients on the skin when you don't even need it. All those anti-aging ingredients are like medicine. If your not sick, you dont need medicine!
Yes 100% to this!!! Most skincare is unnecessary unless you are actually treating a specific issue. And kids before puberty have perfect skin, why are their parents letting them use all of these harsh products :(
Seriously! I agree! As a young teen I have pretty greasy/oily skin so I simply use a basic, cheap cleanser that helps with that, and sunscreen on my face daily so I don’t cook 🤷♀ but I don’t use anti aging products because I’m literally young asf 😭 so I have no need to dump retinol into my skin. I wish kids realized they don’t need this shit…
True as i born in early Gen Z era I study Dermatology and I know that glycolic acid is good only if you using it correctly without stripping the skin oils i advise once or twice a week no more, I feel sad in 20 years their skin will become inflamed, red and very sensitive and plus you add exfoliater on top and retinol which is recipe for disaster, not every skin can take so much pressure if you use it good but use it correctly and in smal amount
I think after some time it will die down like people giving access to internet to kids young seeing we all are learning more risks and much more. Hopefully things get better slowly in the coming years
My little cousin is 11 and she’s talked to me about feeling really alienated because she’s not on social media and doesn’t know much about beauty. I’m 23, and it was already pretty bad when I was in middle school, but the way my cousin describes her peers relationship with beauty and social media and how they bully her for not being a part of it is another level.
I'm a millennial and we didn't bully her but I remember a girl was teased a bit for not knowing who Oprah was and other tv and music references. It's weird to be expected to know all these online influencers and be great at makeup, etc. Much stranger standard for a child
@@manonvo8615 It was? THat's so weird bc those youtubers like shane, James charles, Lily Singh, etc were the pioneers of youtube and it's weird if u didn't know them back then. Maybe some ppl caught on that shane and james were predators back then. I was liking youtube but I didn't talk to anyone or tell them so I didnt' get bullied for it
As someone in the younger side of Gen Z (15) most of what I think about recently is how I’m going to afford a house, no point in spending time on social imagery (to be fair, probably because I hate putting pictures of myself online. Most of what I post is art on Tumblr. My parents raised me right so that my life isn’t based on my image.
Right! I’m 15 too and sometimes yes I do care about self image but half of the time it is not one of my worries. I don’t have social media or care to have social media as it is making our generation and the younger generation care more about self image.
As another young Gen z (14) I agree fully. I’m not pretty but who cares, I focus my attention on art and guitar and my other passions. My face is still changing, who knows, maybe I’ll be pretty in a few years, idc tbh. I’m so grateful my parents raised me right!
You are so right, I‘m 15 too and even though I enjoy doing my little three step skincare, I know that my value isn’t bound to my appearance or my over all looks. I am so glad that my parents raised me to not take the sense of beauty too serious. It’s important to have routines, for maintaining hygiene and also for mental health but overdoing it and being obsessed with products and habits that can damage your skin/ mental health on the long run is contraindicative.
Hi! As a younger Gen Z myself I comepletely agree with you. I have acne which is normal for my age so I do a "skincare routine" of 2 or 3 steps and from time to time wear a face mask! That's all you need at this age and this level of retinol and serums WILL damage your skin in the long term. I hope the parents of these poor kids finally realize the harm they have done...
Im glad you don't base your life on image, but its also kind of sad that the economy we live in is forcing children to worry about how they're going to afford basic necessities when they're older :( 15 is not age to be worrying about affording a house.
That's because the bullying they receive for not being "media version of pretty" is getting much worse. Its almost tribalistic. And parents are desperate enough to break under that pressure of their kids fitting in with others too. Authenticity and real skills isn't being valued at all in girls as they should have been unlike in case of boys. Everyone is being groomed into this internalized misogynistic beauty cult perpetuated by internet.
Young grls? You mean all the girls, women, also boys and men. A lot of people get influenced today. 10-15 years ago plastic surgery was quite rare, now you see this shit quite often even in real life.
These parents are criminal. I am disgusted. My boomer parents screwed me and my millennial siblings up a lot with regards to food and eating habits and I would hope my generation would have tried a little harder to protect the next generation from similar issues. I'm not anti-make-up, I feel like you should use skincare or makeup if it helps you feel good, but no one should feel it's necessary for in this way.
It's not just millennials. My uncle remarried and he is now a boomer raising my gen alpha cousins as literal iPad babies. His older millennial daughter (my other cousin) is messed up in other ways from him being a negligent parent back then. There was just no convenient tech around. A negligent parent will be negligent and now there's modern tech thrown into the mix.
@@anabsolutetrashfire1312 no worries! It is super disappointing :/ after looking up marriage/parenting statistics things made a lot more sense to me and it's a shame any one generation gets blamed. Above average intelligence/educated couples usually don't marry until later in life and either don't choose to have kids or have kids much later. Marriage is also much more successful the longer people wait until they've already hit accomplishment milestones. Life is so complicated and it's hard to boil down statistics into catchy headlines.
@conformists2 hear hear! I support people taking more time to make what are very much life changing decisions. I learnt from my parents mistakes (good lord, they were in a rush). I can complain about how I was raised but I will also say my experience was better than my siblings'. Time and experience are great teachers.
I am a gen alpha 13 year old, and honestly, I am very suprised that some older generations are shocked about gen alpha being shallow and beauty obssesed. I mean, being raised by the internet with its Photoshop and unrealistic beauty standards, has made us see things, especially the term "pretty", in a skewed way. The internet made us premature and that includes caring about your looks, I have worn a full face of makeup to school since I was 10. The pressure to look good is insane, my best friend had a body dysmorphia that bad, that she wanted to unalive herself, it got that bad. It is good to see someone finally speak about this topic in this calm and normal way, not just rage bait on the infamous 10 year olds at Sephora. Love your videos!
😭 wha- Pls u guysss ur path is still soooo long! Never have thoughts about unalive urself! U guys don't even reach 18 and fully hit puberty yet. Believe me once u hit puberty and done developing ur brain at 25, ALL PROBLEMS u have as kids and teenagers WILL BE CONSIDERED STUPID by u... so focus on ur school, be healthy, expand ur friendship, and explore this world more!! ❤ -sincerely, older gen Z
Advice from a fellow 13 year old. If you don't feel comfortable in makeup, drop it. I've never worn any because the feeling makes my face feel gross, and it's worth it even if i get weird stares sometimes.
@@jdvxhdj i think you can wear lip products younger than 7th grade, just nothing too crazy. i wore lip oil in 6th grade and i know girls who would wear a little bit of makeup in 5th and 6th grade for picture day, but its not like they were wearing a full face of james charles makeup, just like a little bit of their parents mascara and some lip gloss 🤷♀🤷♀
@@eyelash-bug ya i wore lipgloss when i was in 6th was mostly talking about the ppl that are in 4th grade coming to school with a full face of makeup 😭
When I was a kid the most makeup I wanted was purple eye shadow because I thought it would be cool, that was the extent. Kids wore lip-gloss and thought they looked like a model. The standard was only our peers, maybe we saw our mom wearing makeup and wanted to try. Nowadays by the time a kid can speak they've been so exposed to the internet they automatically know how they want to look and what they want to buy. It's no longer something cool you wear once a month, it's now expected from kids and important to the kids that they have these products.
I swear😭😭😭 when I was 8yrs old lipgloss made me feel like Kylie Jenner and even now at 13 I still not like makeup. Cause last week I saw a child a quarter with a full face makeup, wearing a bralette and short shorts. I was so flabbergasted cause she's prolly 7 and at that age I had the whole frozen set, a dress, slippers etc.
It is soo scarry to see the development of the next generation. As a gen Z I already find most of our trends and upbringing concerning as it started way too early with way too much pressure, however seeing gen Alfa develop I am even more worried or them :-(
This is what every generation says. Meanwhile, go and watch edits of the 70s- the 13 y. o left their homes and were living in f*** g communes with old dudes doing d**gs. Yet these are the grandmas and grandpas yapping about the lost youth 😂
I think it is very dystopian but one thing I would like to say is not every single gen alpha kid is like that, I rarely find any kids like that, Sephora kids just pop up once in a while. But I do agree with the things about kids growing up to fast because I do see a lot of girls my age vaping and it’s just sad. I think the internet did kind of ruin/speed up childhood because of all the things kids are exposed to. I’ve known a lot of my peers to struggle with mental health issues too. (I am gen z btw but some random sites say I’m alpha)
yeah it seems kind of like a clique-y thing from a young adult standpoint... more about bragging rights maybe? the fact that this kind of hostile environment where kids ruin their skin and try to appear more "adult-like" to their peers is springing up in kids as young as like, 5 or 6? that's gotta hurt..... and it's probably taught by the parents and the internet :^(
Kids have also done that, at least they aren’t smoking cigarettes but just look at 70s 12 yr old h3ro1n3 addicts or even the smoking episode in full house. In the face of those vaping is honestly better
I so im gen Z and i was raised by my mom who didn’t believe in any makeup, when i was little i only was allowed glittery eye shadow for gymnastics recitals and I wasn’t allowed makeup until high school even then only having eyeliner and lip gloss. A big difference is that now Gen Alpha grew up surrounded by media that portray primary adults or older teenagers so their standard of beauty is based off grown up and filter rather than child
There is nothing wrong with kids wanting to take care of their skin that’s just basic hygiene but because of how sensitive youth skin is by using more than sunscreen lotion and face wash they are damaging their skin barrier
And a body lotion or something like that. I have always had very dry skin so ever since I was 8, my hands are dry to the point of getting chapped. So I had to adopt the habit of using hand cream early. That being said, kids can also use vaseline for chapped lips and to prevent blisters from shoes. Those aren't for appearances, those are to maintain healthy skin and prevent actual pain. Shampoo is a given, I suppose. The kids' ones are good, because they don't make the eyes sting.
I didn’t think of it that way. It hit me so hard- gen Z grew up with both, but gen alpha immediately starts seeing the online world as “real”, first. I can only imagine the mind fukc. And if you don’t have good parents to teach you real life from the online world, you’re screwed.
as a 21 year old woman with acne (even though i DO wash my face, use moisturizer and sunscreen), it’s making me feel really old seeing all these little girls with perfect skincare routines. makes me feel like i’m doing something wrong here… EDIT: nevermind, i get it now. thank you to those that replied for helping me realize this. i realize that those girls’ routines are not "perfect", and some of the products they use are harmful and/or unnecessary for their skin. i was just feeling low about my appearance since i struggle with my self-image.
Honestly acne is pretty normal in adulthood, I'm 29 and still get breakouts sometimes and so do a lot of my friends. Especially for (cis) women because our hormones fluctuate so much every month, it's kind of inevitable. Every woman I know gets acne before her period. That being said, if you are able to see a dermatologist they might be able to help, though I know it's not accessible to everyone. And in my experience a simpler skincare routine is usually better (also cheaper!) so you're not overwhelming your skin with too many different chemicals and active ingredients. Most of these kids are probably years away from puberty, probably their skin will change a lot then and hopefully they won't have permanently damaged it by using products designed for older skin that actually has signs of aging.
I'm sorry, WHERE? Are these perfect skincare routines?? They're rubbing mush all over their skin in random order, I don't see one single proper skincare routine in any of these videos. They may have perfect SKIN, because they haven't hit puberty, but not perfect routines. The 'perfect' skin routine for a 9 year old is literally to wash their face.
@@trianglejenn Please. Please. This is a womans space. Please do not feel the need to add (cis) before your womanhood. That is ridiculous. If noting that you mean a biological female means that much then just say female. This (cis) woman thing is harmful to both transfolk and biological females. We as biological females should NOT have to feel the need to put an asterisk behind our womanhood, and trans women also don't like seeing the differentiator behind the term woman either. This movement was never meant to make women have to bend over backwards to identify ourselves in a world where we still barely have rights for biological females that bleed, suffer, and bear children. Females, aka women that have biological needs specific only to us, deserve the right to call ourselves what we are, women, just, women. It pains me to see someone that has spent 29 years of her life existing, dealing with the pains and tribulations that come with womanhood, have to put an asterisk behind the word that you DESERVE to be called. You. Are. Woman.
@@Nonyah123 yeah…valid point (as with the other replies). perhaps i phrased it wrong, and should say "extensive", rather than "perfect". i realize that these routines that the girls in the videos were doing are actually quite bad for their skin, due to many of the products containing harmful ingredients. i wrote that comment when i was feeling low about myself, since i struggle with self-confidence about my appearance. i know better now and i didn’t mean to cause any confusion.
People need to get out of this idea that everything that’s being portrayed on social media is actually happening when we see people in real life. Yes, social media has dramatized and changed the way children see themselves. But this isn’t something every kid is doing. When you actually talk to people, see kids and adults in their environments, and socialize, the things we scroll through for literal hours don’t seem as relevant because they aren’t.
As someone who works with a ton of gen alpha kids, it certainly isn't as prevalent as TikTok makes it seem. That being said, I've definitely seen too many kids wearing concerning amounts of makeup (honestly any amount of makeup is concerning for a seven year old), and I wouldn't be too surprised if some of them had complex skin-care routines but didn't/weren't allowed to wear actual makeup. As a very high estimate, I'd say maybe 10% of all the young kids I work with wear makeup, which, while still not good imo, is definitely lower than social media would have you believe Edit: Woah sorry for the rant that turned out looooong
im 15 and anytime i see those kidfluencers with their beauty routine im like damn they look gorgeous with all their makeup and hair styles. i wake up brush my hair and braid it or put it up in a bun, put a bit of concealer on my undereyes, use browgel and mascara if im feeling extra slay i put some highlihter on and thats ittt. but since 2 months i started to go bare faced once a week to school. at first it was hard but its gotten easier and easier btw love ur videos and ur editing all the best to anyone reading
@@zoeunlimited its sad to cause they are ruining themselves with all that sadly. Hopefully its only the kids we see online and not anymore. Cause its getting bad that and the brain rot
GenZ here... watching this video just makes me sad for the younger generations. Even though I've had internet access since I was also probably their age (around 6) I didn't have instagram or tiktok until highschool/college. The beauty standards I ofc felt for sure since I was around 10 but still ... 6?!? 6 is crazy. I just feel very sad for this generation.
As someone with a gen alpha sister, Its wild to witness how much things have changed. Back when I was her age, makeup was only my mom letting me use her lip gloss on rare occasions, but now kids are spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora every month?? She has nicer stuff than I have, and she's 10 😭. Even the kids who have good parents who don't let them buy all this stuff are affected as well, because with all their friends buying beauty products and using makeup, it creates new insecurities like "Everyone else is wearing makeup/using this skincare, I want to use it too or I wont look like them."
Your parents have missed the point about upbringing. It’s not about creating cookie-cutter environment for the kid where they escape even the possibility of being insecure, sheltering them from every pressure, it’s about teaching them how to Deal with their insecurities and overcome societal pressure!! Kids have Ego just like the rest of us and it’s Vital to teach them mastering it instead of being ruled by it!! Unfortunately, most parents never dealt with their ego and do not work on their shadow selves. Instead they regret not being able to fully enjoy these parts of themselves. So, it’s not surprising they project it onto their kids and tell themselves: “My ego was hurt, it didn’t get the chance to shine. So, I’m going to fix it in my kid. Their Ego will shine brightly!! And I will finally feel happy through them!” This is narcissistic. Ego takes over multiple generations…
yup I still remeember getting my first mascara as a birthday gift from a friend at 13.. and it was the cheapest green and pink one I think it was called great lash.. and then I wore the maybelinne mega volume purple and yellow tubs around like 14-16, until I discovered Isa Dora waterproof volume mascara and ive stuck with that since. Im 27 and I still wear makeup you can find at H&M today lol. I also still wear the same true match Loreal Foundation for the past 13 years since I was 14 lol.
kids have been playing makeup since ages ago, the only difference is that those kids are purchasing expensive, actual cosmetics rather than normal makeup toys that are not from brands.
Nah gurl the makeup I had was the barely pigmented eyeshadow also the lipstick that smelled like crayon thats the makeup I knew when I was ten too twelve
@@E_NFRL THAT is the makeup toys girl. Nowadays kids are buying actual serious expensive products when they don't even 100% need them. All just for entertainment or for attention. Even if is for their own play things, this is too far and unnecessary
@@zien. IKR my mom didn't even let me use expensive creams so I don't get spoiled and end up ruining my face also when these kids grow up they will realise they wasted all their childhood on makeup and skincare I mean who uses bubble at 6 Pls I didn't even know skincare at their age I thought skincare was water and dove soap
@@E_NFRL realll. My mom only told me about what age i should care for my skin since my "youth" was doing its thing for me back then. Nowadays Westerners parenting are getting far worse in "social media". I mean America's reputation isn't doing well since covid, they're just getting worse atp
I’m gen alpha 2011 born, but honestly i think this new idea of ‘girlhood’ is super damaging to people, ive seen my freinds break down due to seeing their face with inverted filter, or without makeup because as a gen alpha the expectations are SO HIGH, and its not just us its the adults. Im half asian half white, so im either hated for being a ‘halfbreed’ or being fetishised because i have ‘K-pop features’ which is what some people have called it- ive litterally been fetishised and criticised on my looks by full grown adults like ‘wow your look is so exotic but you should try lighten your skin abit more’ is the kinda things i get a lot. Genuinely it’s not just gen alpha that is greatly judging us it’s the adults , the millennials the gen z’s. Are world wont change until people genuinely see how the kids are struggling so much, i spent too many hours crying infront of the mirror before i realised how dumb these trends people try to make literal children fit into.
That's so awful that adults would make comments like that to you :( I'm 29 and would never say (or even think???) something like that about anyone let alone kids/teens, like wtf. Trends are dumb, we are worth so much more than our appearance!
I totally agree with you on this, I too have seen kids my age become slowly obsessed with appearance and the approval of others and I think its really sad...
As a younger Gen Z, I’m so sorry you go through this 😭 please don’t let these jerks ruin your self image, you don’t need “perfect” features to be pretty. And as a kid you don’t even need to be pretty. You’re doing everything right, they’re doing things wrong, don’t let them convince you that you need this skincare stuff. I’m just genuinely proud of you for not giving into these weird toxic beauty standards. And it’s disgusting that people fetishize you… :(
This honestly makes me sad. I have a little sister who is 7 years old. The other day I found her putting tape on her nose because she thought her nose was too round. I asked her about it and she started to cry, saying that she wasn't pretty. This "trend" needs to stop.
My niece is ten yo and she’s a regular girl who like reading and playing with her friends. My cousin’s girl is also ten yo and she’s always wearing a full face make up and dresses like a grown up. It’s the parenting.
I'm 30 now. I started wearing makeup at 11 or 12 (Grade 6), lipstick, lipgloss, and eyeshadow, then eyeliner and mascara grade 7. I just loved it. I even still have one of my $10 lipsticks that's lasted the past 17 years lol But I also didn't have a camera stuck in my face. I feel so sorry for these kids goaded on by their parents, and forced to be terminally online at such a young age
Im a Gen Alpha. I was born in 2013, grew-up with an iPad (hand me down) and was exposed to these types of skincare and makeup videos. At first, I wanted to be like them, wanted to have what they had, wanted pretty clear skin like they had. A year later I now find myself so dumb for this cause now I have somewhat clear skin with just a 2 step skincare routine : CeraVe cleanser, and CeraVe moisturizer. These kids were trying to be like Gen z. Seeing these older beautiful girls with gorgeous hair and a pretty body made them want to be like them, made them look up to them. So wanting to be as « cool » as these older girls made them buy and do everything just like them, and I think they should just enjoy their childhood but I’m not blaming them. Yes, yes some of them are rude and disrespectful but that’s the parents faults for raising them wrong and buying every single thing they asked there for encouraging them to ask for more and more. Kids should be kids and adults should be conscious of themselves cause that’s what kids AND teens look up to these days. If parents give their kids an allowance, they should first teach them to use it well before letting them buy everything anything. That’s my opinion, though some younger Gen alpha are a pain and REALLY need to be humbled.
As a Gen alpha myself, I do feel intense pressure to glow up, change or improve. This may be due to going through puberty and wanting to be accepted socially by others, however no matter what I watch if something I see online that I like or something that semi interests me I can't help but want to buy it, sometimes desperately.
Yeah, I’m wondering about that as well. Even the news in my small country talked about kids buying more skin care nowadays, but it doesn’t have to be a big increase for them to say that, only noticeable. I do think kids buy more skin care just like some kids bought a lot of make up when I was young, but just like back then I think it’s a minority. I hope so. I also have a feeling that this will pass and we’ll be fine in the end as we learn
Even when I actually was 12, I only wore mascara to school for fun. It’s so weird to see kids younger than 7 using skincare and trying to be influencers in crop tops. It could be innocent, but I fear those parents know exactly what they’re doing and who’s watching their videos..
the whole thing is weird. little kids acting and talking like grownups while piling on makeup. Not exactly things normal people would want others to see. Those parents are either ignorant to the extreme or evil in my opinion.
@@TheRealMakani my biggest concern is the fact that they film it. Like I said, they might know what they’re doing. I mean that they might be knowingly making content for grown men (I’m not saying only grown men can be disgusting p€d0s, but it was just an example)
@@c67994 that’s true but I mean the actual toddlers that are getting recorded. Cause they don’t know who’s watching it and they can’t just say “yes, I wanna be recorded doing a full face of makeup.” It’s disturbing regardless of the age.
I get that some children like to make videos and pretend, I used to play like that too! But I would've never thought of actually posting myself or my friends online, that's so dangerous. My friend was livid when she found out her kid ended in a video of her "influencer friend", and the mother just couldn't understand why my friend was upset...
Selena and a Kylie are MILLENNIALS not gen z!! Just like Timothee, Florence Pugh, Anya Taylor, Doja Cat, Bella Hadid, Zendaya, Paul Mescal, Dua Lipa, Jacob Elordi, and so much more are millennials but often get confused with gen z. Even people born in 1997 like Jacob Elordi and Kylie have more in common with millennials from the 90s than with the rest of gen z.
It's not that easy to categorise. Some sources say Gen Z is the first generation to grow up with the internet, so 1997 is easily Gen Z according to that definition. I was born 1996 and even though I had internet around 9 I still quite grew up with the internet.
@@PinkeySuavo the internet was a lot different back then. im 97. the internet we grew up with wasnt dominated with the social medias we are today. sure.. there was facebook, and instagram.. but it was nowhere near as crazy as social media like tiktok today. Like as a tween I read blogs written by teens.. i didnt doomscroll and endless feed of brainrot. Also, touch screen phones with social media apps that were scrollable didnt really become a thing before I was like 14, so no longer a kid per ce,. before that, as kids, we had flip phones and slide phones, which didnt have scrollable apps on them..
1:29 I am glad Sephora doesn’t exist in my country but sadly I have still seen 6yr olds in too short crop tops and stuff like that (they want to grow up too fast)
My lil sister is 14, she is on highschool (school kinda works diff here), although at her age i was on high-school and a higher grade due to my grades, but that's not the point. As her big sister, I love spoiling her sometimes. She acts very mature and smart, so dedicated, and best grades. So no surprise when she wanted some skincare, we said, "Yes, here you go, wash gel, moisturizer, and sunscreen. I saw her using my moms face powder, I got her a powder, light blush, and subtle lip gloss. Later, I got her a mid concealer while I was getting mine. She knows how to use it better than me, wouldn't tell she is wearing light makeup, and she looks so cute with the little blush. So can you let early teenagers get some skincare and makeup? Yes, sure. But kids? Let them live their childhood, and as parents, you gotta make sure of that and take care of them.
I am a gen alpha according to google, i turn 14 this year in December. I agree fully that women are much more than just a face, when i was 10-11 I focused on my beauty a lot and would wear "unconventional" makeup. I realize how damaging it was to me now, makeup gave me acne and black heads but it also ruined makeup for me. I am now so embarrassed of the way I wore make up that I have sworn against wearing it and I feel way happier that I don't wear it. I know that if I wore make up people would say I was prettier because it would hide me acne and acne scars but I know that it will cause my skin to worsen. Also I feel less self conscious about my face at this time and I think its because I don't mind my flaws because I have natural beauty and that's all that girls should care about, is their own natural beauty because society will always say you can do more to improve your beauty. I might be gen alpha but many people said I'm wise enough to be gen X.
What a great message at the end. Smart and thoughtful. I suggest anyone that knows someone, younger or not, suffering or being affected with issues of self confidence and the beauty standards of our modern society to share this video. And to reflect on her very thoughtful message in the end. 💛✨ 🙏
At a young age, a girl's understanding of beauty and self-image is still forming, and spending money on anti-aging products can create pressure to look older or more "perfect," potentially leading to body image issues and low self-esteem. I believe this focus on adult-oriented beauty products might push them to mature prematurely, shifting their attention away from age-appropriate activities like playing with other children, which are crucial for healthy development. Engaging in play helps children develop not only self-perception but also a well-rounded personality, fostering emotional intelligence and social skills. These experiences enable them to better understand their own feelings and navigate social situations with confidence. Without these opportunities, a child may become overly fixated on appearance, mirroring patterns seen in some Millennials, whose struggles with mental health often stem from societal pressures to maintain idealized images. Early exposure to consumer behavior that prioritizes appearance over other values can encourage unhealthy spending habits and a superficial focus on looks. In my opinion, this can perpetuate cycles of insecurity and self-obsession, contributing to long-term mental health challenges, where self-worth becomes closely tied to physical appearance, leaving little room for the development of deeper, more resilient aspects of identity.
Selena Gomez(1992) and Kylie Jenner(1997) are MILLENNIALS!!!! Just like Timothee Chalamet, Anya Taylor, Zendaya, Bella Hadid, Ayo, Doja cat, Jacob Elordi, Dua Lipa, Paul Mescal, and so many others who are millennials but get named gen z. 1997 is technically the first year of gen z but those early gen z(1997-1990) have more in common with 90s millennials than they do with the test of gen z. Not all millennials are from the 80s and in their late 30s and 40s. You guys always confuse this. Also many gen z who are 15-25 also have kids and are raising iPad kids.
@@yayyy755 Gen z starts in 1997 girl. No matter how much you claim it doesn’t. Even people born in 95-96 don’t wanna claim millenials bc they have nothing in common with them. Just because older Gen Z don’t relate to younger Gen Z don’t means they want to relate the millenial generation. Stop spiraling down...
@@nai110well, I was born in 94, and all my friends (about the same age +/- year or two) consider themselves millennials. Me too. Don't call us Gen Z, please, don't speak for us.
At first I was iffy in the beginning of the video thinking you were just going to drag these poor kids, but you made some good points. The way you tied it up at the end was really nice too.
10:41 I feel like this insane overconsumption with gen A also feeds into the societal trend that kids are now becoming a “luxury” that aaaalot of ppl cannot afford. And therefore you have a generation of insanely spoiled kids who do not understand the value of earning a dollar whatsoever. The “thank you daddy” from one of the kids says it all. This isn’t just a gen A trend this is bigger issue of the shrinking middle class and more affluent sectors of the pop being the only ones able to afford kids.
I think that the 'facecard' does apply to certain aspects of modern life but especially social media. The fact that kids are pressured into the curse of adhering to tik tok beauty is a traumatic experiences, guaranteed to prevent development. Not only should parents be more vigilant towards their children but society should stop encouraging child stars to be exposed to millions of people.
I’m honestly more disgusted that these parents are filming their children and posting them on TikTok. Especially since there’s a plethora of adult creeps that watch their content.
The only benefit I can see is that they are developing some fine-tuned hand eye coordination. Maybe they can be makeup artists when they're older? Ya know do prom makeup, nail art and that type of stuff for side cash while they're in school. But they could be doing soooo much more fun stuff with their time… and not wreck their skin…
this is genuinely so sad and i am genuinely at loss of how to help them at this point...best that im doing rn is making sure my gen alpha sister grows up with a real CHILDHOOD...
I don’t agree with skin care that is not necessary for the age but I do understand wanting to fit in and have self confidence. I wanted Guess Jeans to fit in.
I'm gen alpha and I'm twelve i grow up with just my Mom and there was a time were she used to do 3 jobs and i could never think about spending HER money for such stupid things 🤦♀️i got my first sephora thing this year to my birthday and it was a small sol de Janeiro body spray from my friend. I was super happy and it smells sooo good but i would never SCREAM at my mom for that maybe i would want it for christmas but thats enough. Money is nothing that falls from tree's , rent is expensive and my mom works almost all day to give me a good live ❤ i use a little bit of makeup some time but because i like it, i don't think wrinkles are something bad they are a beautiful way of ageing . Please don't think every gen alpha is like that 🫶🏼 i like dancing and books , the book store is my sephora. I also like vintage products. I'm sorry for my grammar I'm german 😅 hope you can read it
Gen alpha just reflects/emulates the ridiculousness of some parts of society and what we follow and are influenced by. These kids just amplify what already is out there.
you're one of the most important creators here on this platform, focusing topics nobody really talks about - thank you so much for sharing awareness about the internet and its consequences .. I feel like we're on the road to our own downfall as intellectual humans, that we have once been.
idk what's going on online, but i'm gen alpha and old enough to have a job. during the summer i'm a camp counselor and during the school year i babysit, and i have never ever seen this happen. i'm a guy, so maybe i'm just not picking up on it but i think there's a lot of fear mongering going on around kids.
i believe that gen z stops at 2012-2013. this is because generations are classified by major events- like covid. covid effected those who were in mostly 1-2nd grade+ in 2020, which makes the oldest gen alpha about 10-11 years old.
Im in highschool (gen z), I have no social media lol! I mean look at what all of this crap has done to these poor babies! I am all for feeling beautiful in your own skin, but being on social media always makes you play the comparing game. the more youre on there, the more you engage with these trends, the less beautiful you feel! idk maybe im wrong, i do live deep out in the country parts of texas lol, but just think about it you know!
there's one thing about education which is so very valuable to me: the satisfaction and confidence which results from learning new things and acquiring new and / or unique competences. nothing will make me as happy as feeling competent and smart
I might be a kid but I’m playing Minecraft, having sleep overs, going outside, hating school and loving sleep, just a normal kid, if y’all are counting freshmen.
My sister is six years old and I am 24. The difference is 18 years, but I have a hard time using makeup or skin products. Anything I put on my face is a must for her. Every day it is a dilemma and a problem for me, and every day I have to explain that it is harmful to her and that she is young. For your information, I am not very interested in makeup.
I laughed when you said "not everyone won genetic lottery" and showed one of Jenner's xD it's not genetic but money /surgery ( i am just pointing that it was funny to me :p)
aaaah i have never been so early! i love your channel so much, and you are pretty much my role model as a young teenage girl, you've taught me to stay away from social media because it can get you in some DEEP shit, and i love you so much for it!!! thank you for being a wonderful role model to other teen girls
I wanted to be a millennial at 12-15, until I became an adult and my generation took over mainstream media. Then I wanted to identify with gen z. I wonder if you’ll also change ur viewpoint at 21
i love eauty and style and got into it as soon as i could identify it. The difference is that I saw it in moments and sought out more media featuring it because I was so fascinated, gen alpha is just being fed it and told, "everyone is poor no matter what right now unless they're ultra pretty."
Not to many ion that one of the girls was using skin better alpha ret 😭 it’s a very strong anti aging treatment and isn’t even used on late 20 year olds
I was talking to my little cousin who has a more unique sense of fashion said that all the girls in 6th grade are obsessed with crunchy slicked backs , white fox , drunk elephant, uggs ,Stanley’s and grwms my cousin is 11 and isn’t on social media but all these trends she finds ugly but on the other hand she feels alone beacause no one compliments her outfits and her hair styles and just no one to talk to about fashion Edit : my cousin hates being group in with the trend followers because she has a skin condition and so she has to moisturise every night
As a gen alpha aged 13,why do I have to be associated with these Sephora kids? Just like many of my peers, I was raised without an iPad,used DVDs and CDs and for most of childhood I didn’t have a TV. I have never watched coco melon. Despite social media taking up a lot of my current life I have felt no real insecurity from it or felt the need for plastic surgery. This is just my experience and I hope the younger kids will also feel that way.
Fr! I didn't know what cocomelon was until 2022. Also, do these ppl not realise that a lot of girls start wearing makeup in middle school! Now that we are entering the 2024/2025 school year, all the grades in middle school r gonna have 2010 - 2012 kids (which is considered gen alpha depending on who you ask) so now those "sephora 12 year olds" r now reaching the age where they can wear makeup. And not every single gen alpha is "below their reading level". The only bad thing about my gen alpha peers is that they use their phones a lot.
You are Gen Z not Gen alpha because Gen Z is from 1997 to 2012/14 that's why as 13 yrs old you are part of younger Gen Z . And Gen Z uses phone a lot every girl in middle school starts doing makeup . It's just 12 yrs old Gen Z are now making reels of using it that's it .
As a. 90s baby, I know I wanted to be 00s pretty when I was a child… so is wanting today’s beauty standards as a kid so bad? Nah. Not really… they just don’t necessarily got the chance to experiment chaotic children colours for themselves
I also was Still am Very envious of my peers whose parents are beauty savvy and allow their girls to not just be kids Pretty privilege since childhood More friends, more love from teachers apparently.
The new generation participate in the hierarchy publicly But it has always been there and children have always participated in it. It’s human nature. The skin care bit tho…only means information had not caught up with them. They did that for beauty without knowing the damage. Much like the older generation wanting the sun tanned looks and freckles and therefore being in the sun without proper protection in the 20s and then worrying about spots in their mid thirties. They, the parents, are, in other words, not beauty savvy enough.
Girl, im a gen z and yeah, i can't afford these prices, but also my mum can and she wouldn't because it is simply face paint and if a cheaper one can do the job, no need to waste money. It's on the parents. Period
I think we all need to stop comparing toddlers with 13-15 yr olds. 13-15 yr olds now, aren't like this, and never were, tbh. They're actually just as disgusted with these little sephora kids as gen z is.
11:00 from what google says, gen z ended in 2015, so the oldest alpha is now 9 (idk if its right but I'm 14 and I don't want to be conected to those sephora kids in any way)
The year differs result to result, I found that its around 2010 Edit: I realised that my wording is a bit off, I meant that the dates I've seen are anywhere from 2010, with 2010 being one of the more common lower dates
Where on google did you read this ? It’s wrong and google shows Gen Z ended in 2012, so I don’t know where your information come from but it’s not true.
I think 12 is Gen Z if it end in 2012. As a 12 year old I don’t wear and can’t or even get my nails done. I don’t have any Bubble or Drunk Elephant. The most skincare I have is Coco Butter and face masked from Burlington. Oh and I can very much read actually I skipped a grade and I am in honors. I don’t think because some people can’t doesn’t mean everyone can’t. But I will use Sol De Janeiro. Some of it were gifts the others I bought myself with the money I worked for (helping my mom with the daycare), getting all A’s, and birthdays etc. I honestly think it’s good to wear perfume so you’re not musty. BUT I wasn’t wearing any or doing skincare at seven. I Got my first light perfume and 11 (6th grade)
They’re not gen z they’re MILLENNIALS!! There’s a diff between 80s and 90s millennials. Even Kylie who was born in 1997 is more of a millennial than gen z cause early millennials have more in common with 90s millennials than the rest of gen z.
@@flyleelee5351 uhmm so how is Kendall not a part of Gen Z I mean her and Kylie literally were raised the same way and they're only 2 years from each other? 😅 I call BS
I didn't even get to go shopping for clothes until I was in middle school, and it was fine because sure there were popular things in elementary but it also didn't really matter. We built fairy houses/watched clouds/kicked a ball around at lunch. It was super relaxed and it's so sad that it seems like kids today don't get to experience just existing, being slightly bored but also being present in the moment and making genuine connections
I really appreciate the time and thoughtfulness you put into these videos, Zoe. I’m a teacher and I’m really interested in the influences and psychological health of kids but I’m not much on TikTok and it’s not going to show me this kind of content. It’s really useful for me to see what’s out there influencing these little ones. Thank you for your service!
The gen alphas scare me. I feel like the people at my school always wear so much makeup when they are pretty enough to not wear any makeup. It scares me to think that me (being part of Gen alpha) might be part of the last year of children not being iPad ridden at age 3. Some of my best childhood memories were outside playing with siblings or friends, and the younger generation isn't going to experience these growing and personality creating moments where I had pure joy. It makes me really sad that people think they need to wear makeup, let alone ANTI AGING CREAM at age 4 when in reality it doesn't help them and probably makes them less happy and their parents more broke.
As an 11 year old, I do use some skincare, but I just wash my face and put a moisturizer. I have friends however, who go to Sephora almost every week, and use products which are super bad for them. I’m very happy that I’m not damaging my skin like them.
I turned 16 about 10 days ago, so I’m on the younger side of gen z, shout out to my parents for giving me a proper childhood. I started skincare a couple months ago and it’s no 20 step routine but enough to make me happy. The way makeup feels on my skin is irritating. I’m not talking about itching or anything, just that I can’t touch my face or need to check if everything is in place constantly. I feel good going out without any product on my face and that is just because I wasn’t allowed to wear ridiculously heavy makeup from a young age. Makeup can actually be a serious addiction if there is no one to tell you where to stop. gen z is not perfect but I think it’s still one of the best generations when you start learning to love yourself because there are tons of people that would accept you the way you are or relate cause, the generation is high key cringe and it’s not that bad lmao

Aye um im 13 part of gen alpha, just saying I'm not like this 😭😭🙏🙏PLEASE
Happy Acadian Day Zoe! 🎻🌠⬜️🟥🦞
Real af.
@@Littlemushroomfangswell that hit hard… yikes … and I’m waaaaaaaay too old to even be here …
Kids aren't supposed to be "pretty". They're supposed to be kids. When you're seven, you don't wear that dress because it's your colour or because you like the way your body looks in it, you wear it because it looks like your favourite Disney princess and has sparkles. Kids shouldn't be aware of their body in those ways, and while I understand that makeup can be a completely safe hobby if used well, it can be seriously harmful and damage you in so many ways if used without the proper emotional intelligence and understanding (which these kids could not possibly have), not to mention the health implications some of these products can have for children
no fr i remember kids those age wearing claires makeup that was actually safe and friendly for their skin
They were shocked to hear it and forced her to wear it anyways
Throughout her childhood they would tell her she's vain and and she started to feel guilty to focus on her looks so much, now as an adult she doesn't think of it at all. If she even puts on makeup she starts feeling bad and guilty. I think our parents pushed her too far in the other direction imo
Honestly, every kid is different. Parents shouldn't pressure kids into anything, let them explore whatever they want themselves naturally
Fr a kid shouldn’t be considered pretty or ugly. They’re literally kids so why should it matter if they’re attractive?
this is why in my family no one is allowed to wear makeup until theyre at least 13. when I was younger, this rule was kind of frustrating, but looking back I am so glad I wasn't exposed to it earlier
i mean.. everything you said should be true for adults though too. adults shouldn't feel like they have to be pretty. Adults should pick clothing because they like it, not because of the way their body fits into it. in an ideal world, adults would not be aware/self-conscious of their bodies. and there are many physical and mental health implications of beauty products on adults. the issue is that children are always going to copy what adults do, that's part of growing up and learning how to be an independent and functional human. the issue is that we adults are not setting a good example. if adults stopped engaging in these universally harmful behaviors, children would never even think to emulate them. we gotta start taking accountability to participating in and perpetuating a culture with shitty values.
imo kids should be kids, let them enjoy their childhood, honestly i'd blame it on the parents
yeah, parents are to blame

@@HaiGudetama nah dw man, you're gen Z. If you were born 2010 or 2011, you're gen Z. Trust me, i'm the same age.
It’s really sad the standards of beauty are going to younger and younger generations
😔 and starting younger
I think after some time it will die down like people giving access to internet to kids young seeing we all are learning more risks and much more. Hopefully things get better slowly in the coming years

That's so sad... and so weird to me as a millenial who was bullied for watching UA-cam... it was soooo weird to like UA-cam back when it was new😹

It's actually sad young girls are easily getting influenced by the standards that are "set" in today's generation
Thank you so much for 600 likes!!
I think that lots of that little girls will end up with plastic surgery according to these standards...almost the half of that little influencers!!!
Blame their parents
@@conformists2 I hear ya. I didn't think it was one specific generation, but I guess I hoped we learned a little from the previous ones, you know?

According to Google gen z started in the year of 1997 and ended in the year of 2012. Hope that helps😊!

THERE’S GEN ALPHAS VAPING😭😭😭😭
I so im gen Z and i was raised by my mom who didn’t believe in any makeup, when i was little i only was allowed glittery eye shadow for gymnastics recitals and I wasn’t allowed makeup until high school even then only having eyeliner and lip gloss. A big difference is that now Gen Alpha grew up surrounded by media that portray primary adults or older teenagers so their standard of beauty is based off grown up and filter rather than child
There is nothing wrong with kids wanting to take care of their skin that’s just basic hygiene but because of how sensitive youth skin is by using more than sunscreen lotion and face wash they are damaging their skin barrier
this is astonishing... no kid needs sephora products. soap and water... sunscreen should be plenty.
yeah I was thinking just vaseline💀
and estheticians agree
And a body lotion or something like that. I have always had very dry skin so ever since I was 8, my hands are dry to the point of getting chapped. So I had to adopt the habit of using hand cream early. That being said, kids can also use vaseline for chapped lips and to prevent blisters from shoes. Those aren't for appearances, those are to maintain healthy skin and prevent actual pain. Shampoo is a given, I suppose. The kids' ones are good, because they don't make the eyes sting.
That’s exactly what’s in those $38 products.
I didn’t think of it that way. It hit me so hard- gen Z grew up with both, but gen alpha immediately starts seeing the online world as “real”, first. I can only imagine the mind fukc. And if you don’t have good parents to teach you real life from the online world, you’re screwed.
as a 21 year old woman with acne (even though i DO wash my face, use moisturizer and sunscreen), it’s making me feel really old seeing all these little girls with perfect skincare routines. makes me feel like i’m doing something wrong here…
EDIT: nevermind, i get it now. thank you to those that replied for helping me realize this. i realize that those girls’ routines are not "perfect", and some of the products they use are harmful and/or unnecessary for their skin. i was just feeling low about my appearance since i struggle with my self-image.
Those perfect skincare routines will ruin those little girls skin. You have the routine you need.
As a very high estimate, I'd say maybe 10% of all the young kids I work with wear makeup, which, while still not good imo, is definitely lower than social media would have you believe
Edit: Woah sorry for the rant that turned out looooong

The beauty standards I ofc felt for sure since I was around 10 but still ... 6?!? 6 is crazy. I just feel very sad for this generation.
proud of you for wearing your beautiful, natural face! makeup is not necessary and dont put it above school❤
Yeah it’s sad😕
yup I still remeember getting my first mascara as a birthday gift from a friend at 13.. and it was the cheapest green and pink one I think it was called great lash.. and then I wore the maybelinne mega volume purple and yellow tubs around like 14-16, until I discovered Isa Dora waterproof volume mascara and ive stuck with that since. that play kid makeup is EXTREMELY toxic & unhealthy so even that was very wrong
Are world wont change until people genuinely see how the kids are struggling so much, i spent too many hours crying infront of the mirror before i realised how dumb these trends people try to make literal children fit into.
as another gen alpha i totally have to agree with u
And it’s disgusting that people fetishize you… :(
Babes, your gen z. The generation goes through 1997- 2012
Edit: Yall idk what was going through my head, I meant 1997. Yall so pressed for what tho 💀
This honestly makes me sad. I have a little sister who is 7 years old. The other day I found her putting tape on her nose because she thought her nose was too round. I asked her about it and she started to cry, saying that she wasn't pretty. This "trend" needs to stop.
As a Middle schooler I’m proud to say the only time I’ve ever been to a Sephora was- never.
Also I DO use some skincare, like once a week, and it’s a moisturizer.
I’m 15 and we don’t even have Sephora in my country 😭
I have been to Sephora as a middle schooler, but only because my mom brings me with her. I don’t get anything, though.
1:05 Is this the new norm? Or is this a very small population of gen alpha taking up a disproportionate amount of space and discourse on the internet?
The latter, -someone sho knows multipls gen alphas
The new norm
frrr
Yeah, I’m wondering about that as well. Even the news in my small country talked about kids buying more skin care nowadays, but it doesn’t have to be a big increase for them to say that, only noticeable. I do think kids buy more skin care just like some kids bought a lot of make up when I was young, but just like back then I think it’s a minority. I hope so. I also have a feeling that this will pass and we’ll be fine in the end as we learn
We really need to stop putting rich people on a pedestal
I got all A’s in 7th grade for the first time in a year. My mom took me to toys r us i was so excited and grateful. I got Polly pockets
Fr I started wearing makeup when I was 13-14… but just imagine how it’ll be the NEXT generation 🫤
So Kylie Jenner and Jacob Elordi are gen Z....
What did Kylie have in common with Millennials though? Kylie was a main part of genZ teen social media in late 2010s
1:29 I am glad Sephora doesn’t exist in my country but sadly I have still seen 6yr olds in too short crop tops and stuff like that (they want to grow up too fast)
we should stop blaming gen alpha and blame the permissive parents instead

Millennial parenting is just…a mess. Because the iPad raises the kid more than the parent💀

I am all for feeling beautiful in your own skin, but being on social media always makes you play the comparing game. the more youre on there, the more you engage with these trends, the less beautiful you feel! idk maybe im wrong, i do live deep out in the country parts of texas lol, but just think about it you know!
Committed to making sure my kids go through their awkward stage. It’s a right of passage. It humbles you. We need it as a society.
there's one thing about education which is so very valuable to me: the satisfaction and confidence which results from learning new things and acquiring new and / or unique competences. nothing will make me as happy as feeling competent and smart
I might be a kid but I’m playing Minecraft, having sleep overs, going outside, hating school and loving sleep, just a normal kid, if y’all are counting freshmen.
My parents hate all of this and stopped it from reaching my sis, thank you to my parents for saving girlhood for my lil sis
As a 13 yr old
The ONLY thing I do to my face is CLEAN it and curl my lashes
That is it.
I use none of that
I laughed when you said "not everyone won genetic lottery" and showed one of Jenner's xD it's not genetic but money /surgery ( i am just pointing that it was funny to me :p)
aaaah i have never been so early! i love your channel so much, and you are pretty much my role model as a young teenage girl, you've taught me to stay away from social media because it can get you in some DEEP shit, and i love you so much for it!!! thank you for being a wonderful role model to other teen girls
appreciate you sm 🥹💜 learning with you guys!
hey guys just happy to see this vid b4 it blows up
I am actually honestly glad to still be a gen z rather than a gen alpha. But I’m very close, 15 years right now :,)
I wanted to be a millennial at 12-15, until I became an adult and my generation took over mainstream media. Then I wanted to identify with gen z. I wonder if you’ll also change ur viewpoint at 21
Just wanted to say that the oldest alphas are actually 12 cuz they were born at 2012 to 2025
No the oldest is 11 cause it starts AFTER 2012
@@SofiSafiiii actually I don't know every website tells me something else
i guess 2010-2012 is gen zalpha
@@NFrealStan im actually dead 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@SofiaKahan 😭😭
i love eauty and style and got into it as soon as i could identify it.
I was talking to my little cousin who has a more unique sense of fashion said that all the girls in 6th grade are obsessed with crunchy slicked backs , white fox , drunk elephant, uggs ,Stanley’s and grwms my cousin is 11 and isn’t on social media but all these trends she finds ugly but on the other hand she feels alone beacause no one compliments her outfits and her hair styles and just no one to talk to about fashion
Edit : my cousin hates being group in with the trend followers because she has a skin condition and so she has to moisturise every night
0:25 i just put some nivea cream, lipgloss and cream blush(a light one) ,when i was their age i would play with barbies
As Judge Judy said " Beauty fades, Dumb is forever".
Zoe, you are a beautiful soul
As a. 90s baby, I know I wanted to be 00s pretty when I was a child… so is wanting today’s beauty standards as a kid so bad? Nah. Not really… they just don’t necessarily got the chance to experiment chaotic children colours for themselves
I also was
Still am
Very envious of my peers whose parents are beauty savvy and allow their girls to not just be kids
Pretty privilege since childhood
More friends, more love from teachers apparently.
The new generation participate in the hierarchy publicly
But it has always been there and children have always participated in it.
They, the parents, are, in other words, not beauty savvy enough.
your dress suits you so much
The parents think they are doing they're kids a favor letting them use retinol just wait until the effects take place😂
I'm 13 and I would never spend this much on a skin care or make up. Overconsumption is crazy these days.
11:00 from what google says, gen z ended in 2015, so the oldest alpha is now 9 (idk if its right but I'm 14 and I don't want to be conected to those sephora kids in any way)
real i’m also 14
The year differs result to result, I found that its around 2010
Edit: I realised that my wording is a bit off, I meant that the dates I've seen are anywhere from 2010, with 2010 being one of the more common lower dates
Where on google did you read this ? It’s wrong and google shows Gen Z ended in 2012, so I don’t know where your information come from but it’s not true.
@@nai110 since gen a started in 1997 and each gen lasts about 14 years gen alpha started in 2011
@@axmixah no each generation take 15 years...
LITTLE JAMES US SO CUTE THO
This video needs to go viral, bc people need to know these things. These are young children! wtf?
They’re not gen z they’re MILLENNIALS!! There’s a diff between 80s and 90s millennials. Even Kylie who was born in 1997 is more of a millennial than gen z cause early millennials have more in common with 90s millennials than the rest of gen z.
Stop it.. Kylie is an elder Gen Z
It was super relaxed and it's so sad that it seems like kids today don't get to experience just existing, being slightly bored but also being present in the moment and making genuine connections
is pisses me off that i have super bad acne and can't afford products, but these 10 year olds with perfect skin can afford all this skincare
Dang i just turned 13 and i find Sephora so boring man i just wanna buy dolls and robux all day
gen alpha starts in 2013 and that means 2013 gen alphas are 11, i really enjoy liking and watching you but dont lie
