Going off what I know of Zack Snyder as a storyteller, I'm going to say Snyder probably mentioned that in an interview but never put it in any of his DCEU movies.
Incredible compilation Also since everyone lives to hate, this is unironically a brilliant performance and you cant convince me otherwise. Real life Lex's have shown themselves to be much more like Jesse's take than the (also incredible) calmer measured take people are used to

This Lex is without a doubt one of the worst castings in not just any CBM, but in general. It’s scenes like these that I’m glad Nicholas Hoult is going to be superior than this abomination.
@@ultimateslinger9857 and that’s exactly the problem with this interpretation of Lex. He’s not supposed to be some looney tunes cartoon character who’s off his meds. Lex is supposed to be a cold, intimidating, angry, calculating, and arrogant villain.
For the people saying Lex’s plan was stupid, you are correct but that’s the point. Lex, like in the comics, is obsessed with the idea of destroying heroic, super-powered beings. To him, an incredibly intelligent and ambitious “normal” human (like himself) is perfection. He wants Batman, a mortal, to more effectively kill Superman, a kind “god.” When that fails, he is more than willing to have an evil and destructive god-like being, that he created, do it and prove that the strength of heroes are an illusion. In this way, Lex is truly a pathetic and arguably ill man that finds any way to win in his mind. That aspect of Lex was captured decently well in the movie.
And that’s exactly the problem with Lex’s plan. This entire plot is nothing more than a complete convoluted joke. The only reason why Lex wants Superman dead is because he’s apparently abused by his father supposedly from what the toxic fanbase says, but even then that’s never been mentioned or explained. Plus, Jesse Eisenberg’s performance is flat out awful. This is not the way to do villains right. Lex is supposed to be cold, calculated and intimidating. Not some high school nerd who’s losing his meds and needs dire help. And nowhere in this film shows that this “Lex” is methodical.
@@luisquintero7359 I never said that the performance was great or that the characterization was spot-on. I think you misunderstood what I was saying. The point of Lex’s plan is that it’s gripping for meaning. He desperately wants to prove superheroes and regular people who fight for “good” are false and deluded. Lex may be very intelligent, but his arrogance has made him VERY stupid at times. Look at the Superman/Batman: Public Enemies arc or Lex’s kryptonite poisoning in Justice League Unlimited because he was so sure he was safe. Lex has such potential with his intelligence, but he’s often undone by his own pathetic greed and anger.
Lex Luthor played by Jesse Isenberg wasn’t entirely awesome but simply a great portrayal that shows his, cynical and psychotic side of his personality for which I was thrilled😅.

I just saw this movie and was so shocked I had to look it up after because all of these are individually such atrocious acting choices. You might think these moments are like clipped specifically to look bad out of context, but it's actually worse IN context because not a one of his mannerisms plays off his fellow actor's performance. I genuinely don't know what his intention was with these, if he was trying to play it off like Lex is intentionally indulging in some kind of charming vocal quirk then that doesn't work because the stuff he does is annoying/unnatural/not charismatic enough, but at the same time it also doesn't come across as a genuine Tourette's-esque tick either because it's so clearly performative and fake. Just awful stuff
