Nope. Not unless your tinnitus is caused by a dysfunctional OTOF gene. I hate to say it, but this is kind of a nothingburger. Only an infinitesimal fraction of people with hearing loss stand any chance of being helped by this.

@@incognitotorpedo42 that's it's easier to cure the Dysfnctional gene than regrow hair cells, I hope they'll find a cure, it's a agony to someone with hearing loss to live.
Brilliant! I hope they can figure out something similar for the hearing loss due to Nerve damage as well.
Rincell-1 it's a possible cure for that.
This really gives me hope that one day i will be able to free myself of my ototoxic induced sensorineural hearing loss & tinnitus, if this technology advances further 😊
I can only hope it could pave the way for treatments for people with hearing loss caused by outside factors & not genetics, like myself, but i suppose time will tell.

I was diagnosed with genetic hearing loss when I was 18 years old, it was mild hearing loss, at 25ys it’s severe. Will this treatment will be appropriate for me in the future? I hope so
It is a difficult question, because hearing is a difficult mechanism, which include cochlea, auditory nerve and brain activity. I am deaf too and I scary the fact that I become fully deaf before cure will works.

this is a very rare genetic mutation Otoferin , the baby had healthy cochlea but the nerves wherent properly working , it was a genetic mutation . this goes to show that the methods of delivery are there and can be done , this just needs to be tweaked for all types of hearing loss, its getting there
This is a really rare form of hearing loss, but my son was just diagnosed with the same thing (Auditory neuropathy spectrum disorder) unilaterally. His right ear is normal and in his left ear he is profoundly deaf. This therapy has to do with the OTOF gene, so I guess genetic testing Is needed to see if that is the cause of my son’s auditory neuropathy. Does anybody know what percentage of people with auditory neuropathy have it because of this gene mutation and meet all the qualifications to be candidates for this gene therapy?

There is no working on Sensorial hearing loss so far.its sadly. don't hearing aids required medicines or injection please sir.Human birth to till to date the scientists are not researching seriously on Sensorial hearing loss cure regarding.Deaf people life is very hard and struggle. it's better than died. please urgently release the medicine or injection for Sensorial hearing loss cure regarding during 2024.

This is a rare genetic form of hearing loss. This ONLY applies to a RARE form of hearing loss.
It's brilliant science, however no use to most of us with acquired hearing loss and/or tinnitus!
