best houdini tuts along the internet. There is lot of smart people doing complex things on youtube and no one has decent didactic skills . I often wonder why so many smart poeple has no talent for teaching

Awesome Video! I always disliked manual modeling with Blender, Max, etc. but this finally seems like a modeling software I could like.
Being a programmer makes it even better!

Thanks for the comment! I had a similar issue too. Houdini's non-destructive workflow makes it a lot easier to work with!
The box modeling workflow in Blender and Max sometimes requires one long sitting to finish a project, which I never had enough time for. But for some reason I love zBrush's box modeling workflow.

@@bubblepins I never tried ZBrush, as it is too expensive for me, what is it like?

@@M1SMR zbrush has this new lighter version out that's a lot cheaper, I think it's like $10/mo. or $180 to buy it, but the lighter version doesn't have all the features. Personally I really like zbrush, because you can create very organic characters very easily with just the Move brush lol In the past couple of years, zbrush has been updating the software with all these new features it's so crazy! They put in a cloth simulator inside zbrush JUST for modeling!
I did this car crash destruction to test it out and it was soooo easy to create very complex effects:

Thanks, just getting back into modelling in H so was a great refresher. Definitely interested in the Python script as that's an area that I'd like to start getting into.

Thanks for watching! That will be a great idea for my next next video after I finish editing the one I'm working on right now. Stay tuned!
But it'll probably come in like a couple of weeks later, editing takes forever.

I was thinking of making a procedural modeling mini series on the dorm room scene I made here:
      instagram.com/p/CBllkdKHARa/?
But the file needs to be cleaned up a lot, because I took a lot of shortcuts. Don't know if anyone would be interested in watching that.
