Not a lot of people know that DG wrote this when TH was recovering from an overdose years and years ago. Today, having known of Taylor's passing, listening to this just hits so much harder. A truly sad day, where I carry a heavy heart. Rest easy, legend 🖤
He overdosed on heroin in 2001 wich left him in a coma for 2 weeks. Dave was by him side all the time. I can't even imagine how devasted he is right now. This song of loyalty sounded with sadness for me today. I wish peace for Taylor and STRENGHT for Dave, with all my heart.

It’s so heart breaking that Taylor lost his battle with addiction. RIP Taylor along with all the others that have lost their battle to addiction. We know Taylor’s story I hope others who are battling will reach out for help . Maybe the lose of Taylor can help others in some way . We need to make changes in our society to help people get clean and prevent ours from falling into this path of destruction.

This is a song Dave wrote for Taylor when he almost died. They were soulmates, twins... When one had short hair, the other had too. When long, both. When beard or shaved, too. I can´t imagine what´s Dave going through right now. Part of him just died forever. Maybe Taylor is free now. Who knows what awaits us after... It´s always harder for those who stay though.
Taylor was always symbol of fullfiled dreams for me. If you imagine that kid growing up, worshipping his favourite bands. And every one of those dreams came true. He played with everybody.
Hope he´s living his biggest dream right now. Forever.

Hearing the story behind this song, I know Dave says it's "about Taylor" but I really think it's about how Dave himself was "On The Mend, My Friend" after hearing that Taylor would recover when he was in that coma. It shows what they mean to eachother, what the whole band mean to each other in the Foo Family and what the band means to us, their fans. Music won't be the same for me again. RIP Taylor
I’m in shock, the world looses another legend. Travis can never be replaced. This has been a major hit to the Foo Fighter’s. Hoping they can recover from such a serious blow..RIP Travis. The world already misses you.

On the Mend was always a beautiful song, but this live version is simply gorgeous. I found this version while I was on the recovery from something that nearly destroyed me, and it was apropos that I send it and its first verse and chorus to a friend who came running worried.

I heard this song for the first time today. Yeah, it's the first time I've ever found this song in my life. About 15 years late. No matter how long it's been, I could tell right away what this song was about. He is anxious for the recovery of his beloved friend. I'm glad Dave got his friend back and was able to play this song with him. They're still making music together and I'm glad I can hear it in this far country.

Peace, Love and Blessings to you, wherever you are, Foo Fighter Friend. I'm in the U.S. I have been a fan since the earliest days. I just came across this late last year. The entire show is indescribable, but this song seems to resonate with so many fans. We love TH too!! He's fkn amazing. The fans are thankful for better days for him. I love this song so much. I love how much Dave loves his friend. I am so thankful that I can finally see and hear FF. DAMN I'VE MISSED A LOT!

Im having a really hard time with Taylor's passing, the fact that his heart was so enlarged, that the Foo Family will never be the same without Tay. I cant possibly imagine how Dave is doing. I found out when i was in the hospital for a month & a half. Thank God i could listen to my music. I keep saying Im gutted. I am. Theres just so, so much more. But thats enough. We, I, miss you SO badly Taylor, my son is named Taylor & I m as prpud of you as i am of my Tay. RIP you beautiful earthling.

To me this is the most beautiful song from this session. Was so lucky to have been present for 2 of the 3 nights when this magic happened. Just so sad that this track didn't make it to the CD release and only DVD release.
11/24/14 I awoke from a coma alone in the icu after my heart stopped from an accidental hospital overdose two blood clots snd an embolism . My husband came back to the hospital after getting the kids off to school with the expectation that I would be taken off life support. I was sitting up and awake . I was way out of it and struggling but I was on the mend . He didn’t write me as song but he certainly is my best friend and I’m glad I was able to learn to walk and eat again so I could start over one more time . This song reminds me of that very moment 💜

Hay que pensar que dave habia perdido a kurt; por el poco y nada se pudo hacer ya que estaba sumerjido en las drogas y haber perdido a taylor habria sido demasiado el dolor para el en el documental back and forth comenta que el pensaba en dejar la musica por que pensaba que la musica equivalia desgracias por algo taylor no partio porque tenia mas cosas para el la vida como por ejemplo tener una gran carrera musical junto a dave su amigo del alma
