This video shows how to install a Glock 19 magazine extension on your stock magazine. Hope it was helpful. Here is where I got my extension - www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07...
The small black piece from the original magazine was left out. The process in the video was like slight of hand. I left that part out assembled three in less than 20 minutes and got the +4 in each mag.
**Read This if having Issues** Do Not put the factory spring base plate back in. The little post on it stops the spring from seating flush and keeps it up off the base by like 1/4 inch. This why you are only getting 1 or 2 extra rounds in there, or maybe zero extra if it slid down crooked when sliding the base on. Just trying to help anyone watching this recently.
Absolutely right! I could only fit 4 extra on my g17 and I had the base plate in so I saw your comment and took it out and it fits 5 extra perfectly thanks !
i feel like new springs need to be worked in a bit for it to be a smooth full mag fire. maybe the top plastic piece need to be used to the mag for a bit i feel to function better
The black flat piece is not require. Also you need to order ghost extra power spring. The one come with it is weak and will fail to feed. Add loctite to the set screw.
bach nguyen someone that knows wtf is going on, finally. Why did he use the black spring plate from the old magazine? Also mine already had the pins in them but I didn’t get a Allen wrench. I have a ton of wrenches I’m sure I have right size is it really needed? I just pushed spring down with my thumb and slid the base pads on then pushed that pin down I don’t foresee a problem did you tighten yours? Also what kind of spring are you running and what is the benefit?
@@derekddurbin I don't use the spring plate from the old magay. The pin allen size depend where you buy it from. I have several different version. But you want to blue loctite so it won't back out. The spring I got is from ghost XP for Glock 17, you increasing 5 more rounds, so you need extra length spring to feed the last 5.
bach nguyen yeah I just fixed mine I wasn’t having a problem but I ordered some more a couple of weeks ago I ordered 2 Glock 43 magazines that was a whole new mag with a plus 3 base pad and I bought 2 Glock 17 base pads that are plus 6. 23 rounds in my G17 with a Surefire 300UB and an AAC Ti-rant 9mm with Heinie Straight 8!sights is a hell of a night stand gun. Glad to see shooters instead of trolls online still. Be safe out there.
Ehhhh ok so in my experience after installing my eBay plus 4-5 when installing with the after market spring I couldn’t get all 18 rounds with one in the head in my g23 gen 5. So instead of using the aftermarket spring I used the stock Glock spring instead and it allowed me to get all 18 with one in the head. This also made it a lot smoother when it came to racking the slide. Also have to make sure you don’t use the stock Glock base plate like he did I’m sure by mistake. Trial and error.
have you had any trouble with the rounds feeding or anything with the mag ? im trying to do this with my g23 also but see sum ppl say you need to order a stronger spring etc
Some of these depending on the brand the extendos sometimes aren't supposed to use the bottom plate from the original magazine. They can get stuck or sideways when they go into the extension.
I forgot the plate. Should I take off the extension, add the plate, then put the extension back on? Or just leave as is without the plate? I have not shot with it yet so I don't know how it will feed without the plate.
I know I’m a little late but great video...... I used it to show a student how to change his and it worked perfectly.... thanks for sharing. Just sub’d.
Im sending mine back. It feeds every round except for the last one. Plus 4 in glock 19 mag. I assume plus 5 in glock 17 mag but if it doesn't feed correctly all the way through its no good for me.
did you do everything besides add the stock glock base plate ? i think he added his back on accidentally. if you did remove it try getting a stronger spring like for a g17 to be able to feed the last +4/+5 rounds
i ordered one in red and thought it would be that nice eloxal red like yours, but instead it came like tyrant tactical coyoté bronce wich looks more like a dirty brownish red....😂 it dont fit my red fowler industries trigger at all..... i just cant find a extension that matches the exact red because every manufacturer has their own shades of reds.....had to find out the hard way and tried a couple that i paid with my own hard earned money. either too dark or too light but never the right one😂 but this amazon extension is way off the charts...i might get it camo cerakoted next time i send inn some stuff...well see.
Glock 17 mags (17 rounders) and Glock 19 mags (15 rounders) will not accept the same magazine extenders. The bottom on a g19 mag is cut at a different angle than the g17 mag. The different angle causes the extension to sit at a different angle (instead of straight/inline with the mag). Using an extension intended for a Glock 17 on a Glock 19 will cause the magazine to fail by causing the spring to bind. I hope that makes sense.
@@hectorhinojosa7973 depends on your budget but I know Taran Tactical has +5 extensions for the G19 for $35. And if you can hold off I know they typically have some good sales around Black Friday
Stephen Schumaker I got one cheap knockoffs ones off eBay for 10 bucks but they only fit the 17 mags perfectly ima look into the strike industries highly appreciate that
No. You can’t use it with the Glock factory 10 rounders. Those magazines are tapered on the inside. That’s how they limit the capacity. I found that out the hard way. Magazine extensions only work on the hi-cap mags by design.
SnD OverKillYT Because the 10 rounder is specifically designed to prohibit you from doing so. It’s tapered inside. The metal liner has a raised rib and the plastic also has a solid raised rib molded in the full length of the mag. The metal liner is not solid if you cut it it will fall apart. The plastic rib would be a bitch to grind/cut out.
Are you saying that when he puts the OEM insert back in with the extender that he is defeating the purpose of the extender? I would think that Max would have discovered this by now, when he loaded the mag, and if there was a problem, he'd reshoot the video doing it correctly if this was the case. Max, your thoughts here?
