Wow, the "I am not afraid" yarn is truly beautiful in the skein! What a lovely mix of colors 😍 I have mostly shied away from hand dyed yarn because I need to see what it looks like knitted up, but a yarn like that is definitely an art piece on its own. Using the matching tweeds for a set of matching hats would be so cute!
Thank you! I know I always appreciate dyers who show off the yarn in swatches or share finished projects made with the colourways, otherwise it is a gamble
Fabulous collection of yarns. Your plans for knitting them also good to see. I get the dilemma of getting either yarn you like the colour of and/or named for a character you like. Big hugs. X
Thank you! The struggle was real, but I'm happy with my choices. I'm tempted by Kate's revamp of Feyre's colourways but I don't really want to buy yarn right now. I'll admire it from afar 😍
So many beautiful yarns in this part! And the SJM (especially ACOTAR) yarns get me every time. I picked up TTSWL from an in stock update last year and made the Astraeus sweater with it, but I added a chart from Ixchel sweater that I flipped 180, so it looks like stars falling over a mountain. I also made colorwork-less Rhue with Starfall from Red Door Fibre Studio. I plan to do a broken seed stitch striped vest with Falling Sideways as the main color and the Maas made me cry minis as the stripes, all from Witchfire Fiber Co. And from that same collection I have Take It Off, Take It Off Speckle Melt Oopsie, Because You Were Breaking and Heart of a Dreamer that I will do some sort of cropped fade sweater with. And then Red Door Fibre Studio with the Greatest Hits has 4 revamped ACOTAR colors that I'm drooling over. I think I will have to get a sweater quantity of Cursebreaker. For fade suggestions, I did the Cozy Classic Raglan Lite for my advent fade from last year, and there are some instructions for fading in there. I think I just did 8 (or 16? I forget) rounds of stripes to transition between colors. I love a raglan shape on me, which is why I went with it. Raglans are also really easy to change some of the increases near the end to do bust adjustments, if that's something you care about. I just stopped the back increases and only did the front body increases during the second raglan increase section. I then decreased a bit after splitting for sleeves, until my front and back counts matched. The Sorrel patterns are meant to fade, and I'm tempted to do one for my Take it Off fade, but I don't know how well the 2ply yarn I have will show the dip stitches. I would have to swatch (probably the 6th time swatching for the fade because at first I was thinking something more stripey and textured). I'm also tempted by Spector, Radvent Cardigan, or one of the Sarah Opie fade patterns from last year.
Thank you so much for all the fade sweater suggestions!!! I knew you were looking forward to this video 😉 I looooooooove your Astraeus -- it turned out SO good! I'm excited to see your other SJM projects and you're making me jealous of your ToG yarns! I didn't have any ToG yarny rep, and just reading "Take it off, take it off!" makes me cry 😭 I need to reread Kingdom of Ash even though it breaks my heart into a million pieces 😭
For your Dragon Hoard Yarn the Netherton Cardi by Lydia Gluck is a cropped 3/4 sleeve that is meant to be fitted and knit with negative ease. Has some great texture to it on the cuffs and band.

This may be my favorite part, so many luscious hand dyed yarns.
I'm so glad you enjoyed it! 😊

Oh that's cute! Thank you for sharing 💙
If you're looking for a faded sweater, I like Spector by Joji Locatelli
Thanks, I'll take a look 😊
