You two are a blast. I so enjoy hanging out with you guys. 🎄 My longest time friend and I have an ongoing mini ornament tradition where I knit her something small and cute for her tree or her Christmas decor. She ADORES these treasures over the years.
My 5 month old loves watching you guys and chats with you the whole time 😂. From Melbourne, Australia. Will try to catch you live if I’m up feeding at 3.30am.
I’ve knitted two sweaters now with Nutiden held together with a lace weight Alpaca strand by Holst garn. The Spring Fling by the Petiteknitter and the Obba sweater by Aegyoknit. They both are amazingly light but so warm. I do cast on much more loosely. I’m also doing the Arne & Carlos Stocking knit along at present. Arne & Carlos are as much fun in real life as they are on their show. I’ve been on two of their trips now.
Really good timing.. needed you girlsbtoday, itnisntheb11th anniversarybof my grandson's death by a drunk driver. He was almost three and the driver was my sister. Needless to say, the trauma this caused within our family is unmentionable. Time makes it easier, but this day is always rough. Just know, you put a smile on my face
Just wanted to wish you speedy healing when you have your surgery done Jodi! Really enjoyed the Christmas gifting you lovely ladies brought us today. It really cheered up a wet windy day, and gave me great ideas.
I agree with you Tracie when you blend two colours that are slightly different the depth that is created is lovely!! Thanks to you both for a morning (and probably night) of happy knitting times!!
Hi Tracy and Jodie. Love your show! I’m another long time cranker from Australia (I have 10 machines - British antiques mainly and 2 NZAKs). Thanks for showing your socks. I’ve never done afterthought heels with my cranked socks. There’s so much you can do with the CSMs.
Thank you ladies, always a pleasure and need more in this crazy world. Prayers everything goes well for you Jodi . My hubby had both knees done and I heard hips are a bit easier. Follow your Doctors orders and you will be a new woman. His first knee was 2012 and the second one just a year ago. Game changer on the second one, much advancements in how it is done. Not a pleasant surgery but nice to be a bit more pain free. Wishing you all the best! ❤
Don’t make your videos any shorter! In fact, you guys can do even better 😂 6 hours please😅 if someone doesn’t want to watch for the full length of your videos, they can simply stop. The rest of us love every minute of you lovely ladies that we can get ❤ We appreciate you two!
You’ve got this Jodi! All the best wishes for a speedy surgery and recovery! You’re not alone. The Going Gnome website has been updated! Thank you Grocery Girls for all the beautiful enabling!
Jodi- I was the same way at first with Nutiden- but now…. I’m hopelessly addicted. A friend gave me this advice and it was a game changer- wind little balls that you knit from. I know it seems like more work but they go fast and it’s somewhat fun. Plus if it breaks just start knitting it with the other strand- you don’t even need to wet it. My fav combo is a strand of unspun plus a strand of the suri alpaca/silk blend. Even my teenage daughter steals those sweaters.
I had both hips replaced in 2021 August then October! I used a tote shoulder bag to carry my knitting etc around with me. I also kept my phone in a bag across the body. I used to swap activity every few hours. The first few days aren't much fun but after that it's fine and great from a crafting point of view. Good luck.
Jodi wishing you all the best with your upcoming hip replacement surgery! I've had both knees replaced and it's amazing how great you feel. Best thoughts.
So fun and I caught at least some of the live version this time! Thanks for the pattern inspo.and Jones Road feedback; I have been thinking about those products for some time, but I also have rosacea that's worse since the pre-menopause (oh joy). Oh to be feeling good in my skin and knitting...that would be the best holiday. Thanks for brightening my day--I love these episodes!
Sending warm hugs Jodi in the weeks ahead. I’ve been carrying you in my thoughts as I knit up the rainbow yoked sweaters using the rainbow minis I got from you. Next I want to get a sweater’s quantity of that Mahogany you are using. YES!
Wow ive been meaning to watch your podcast forever...today i finally did...and WOW you ladies are from ALBERTA...SO AM I I LIVE IN RED DEER....im in forever hear such great things about you ladies 😊❤
Just want to say good luck on your surgery! I had 2 hip replacements last year just 4 months apart. The surgery is really a breeze -- youi'll be surprised. They had me up and walking the corridor hours after surgery. I had physical therapy 3 times a week for 3 weeks afterward and you will be surprised how fast you recover. Best of luck and happy recovery knitting!!
Sending ❤to Jodi’s hip. It’s not that we don’t appreciate how far you’ve gotten her, but really, I think she’s over you. Looking forward to meeting Hip 2.0. It’s shiny, it’s space-age, and it sets off security alarms at every airport!! Some call it annoying, I think of it as a chance to have one-on-one chats with TSA, so fun! So, from my shiny hip to your coming shiny hip, Hello cousin. Can’t wait to see you in Kansas City in March at Unwind 2025.
Hope your surgery is soon and goes well I am just back to work after my total knee surgery will admit the beginning was rough but follow your PT person (even though I think PT stands for pain and torture 😂) they are amazing people. I’m a nurse and was a big baby and put my surgery off for a year now I’m thinking why did I wait?? Good luck!! And man did I get some good knitting done in the 3 months I was off
Jodi, I had 2 hip surgeries. Make sure they teach how to get in and out of bed. Especially lifting the leg on surgery side. You can you a long belt with a loop at one end. Make sure you're sitting far enough back on the bed. Loop the foot and pull on belt in a lifting up motion. OR Use the foot of the good leg to hoist the other up. BTW, I'm getting full knee replacement end of November. Yikes. I'll be bionic woman.😅
A little late watching your whole podcast: I love you girls always fun and inspiring. All the best with hip replacement Jodi and I highly recommend having some projects to work on post op. I’m recovering from a broken wrist and then a re-break to put a plate and screws in, the thing that’s kept me going and the best physio has been my knitting. I’m a continental knitter and for a short time I had to right hand knit 🤷♀️🙇♀️, it was worth the effort to just be able to knit and keep busy. I’m still a work in progress but things are going well.
Aw rats, I missed the live. It's like I've missed my knitnight😢 Catch you next time, girls ❤ Fingers crossed for a prompt successful hip, Jodi! I'm rooting for you x❤x
You got this jodi! Hope you are mobile and pain free by the holidays. Can i ask a favour? I live with an oiler fan where can i find yarn in oiler blue and that orangey brown....? Or honestly all the canadian 7 teams? Thx!
So many inspiring knits. Aaaaaaa! Mercy, how will I knit it all? I think I need to quit my job to prioritize what’s really important. 😅 Side note, that brush that comes with the brown Jones Road liner? It’s the *best* liner brush. I use it daily.
Jodi! You have to make Big Love Cardigan by ANKestrick! Such an exciting construction piece. I LOVED knitting it. And it’s a very cozy worsted/aran weight piece. I wear it around the house and it was the perfect travel outer layer when I traveled to Rhinebeck last month. I used Lamauld by Camarose. It’s a bit scratchy on the bare neck, but a dream to wear otherwise.
If you like embroidered Xmas decorations to make etc have a look at Corinne Lapierre she does gorgeous patterns, kits etc I’m knitting a Santa’s laundry garland this year lol
Sending all the good healing energy your way, Jodi, for a strong and healthy body before and after surgery. Happy knitting 💚🧶💚

Hello for the first time, from Kim in Wisconsin. Love you two!
Jolly Wee Elf -- 2 done and one almost finished.
Best of luck on your surgery and take your time and relax and knit

Would you please spell the name of the knitting machine? Also does it come in different sizes or does your make different sizes? 😀

Thanks for the great video and inspiration!
I LOVE Arne and Carlos’ balls! I started knitting because of Arne and Carlos. ❤❤❤
There are people on Etsy that have a sock cranking service. Send them your yarn and they crank it into a tube.
If you like embroidered Xmas decorations to make etc have a look at Corinne Lapierre she does gorgeous patterns, kits etc I’m knitting a Santa’s laundry garland this year lol
You should really try a tubbing mascara. Does not smudge and its a easy removal
Can’t beat tater tots anytime!!
Hi Girls, from Julie in Maryland...love you guys!! 🎉❤
Does anyone have ideas. For Hanukah knit or crochet gifts that are NOT yarmulkes?
Hej fra NY ❤️
Hi from Jordan!
Have you guys made the Emotional support chicken yet?
Oooh! Please do CSM videos!
