Esther liked Ben for Ben and didn’t have some weird fetish for his aliens that immediately puts her above Kai in my opinion also the fact her personality isn’t insufferable.
I mean she seems to be over all that by the time they're married, but the problem with that is they never SHOW any of it. They show the end result in the future with Ben 10k but we never get to see her change and them grow closer together and inevitably fall in love like we're supposed to believe, instead we just got told it's what happened :/
Same with Ben. The network butchered him so badly by the time of Omniverse. If Ben didn't go though that regression in AF season 3, he would have still a decent boyfriend. His relationship with Julie became all over the place because of the forced drama between them in Ultimate Alien and the less said about the Omniverse breakup the better. Kai was awful. She deserved much, much worse. Ester had a lot of potential, but she was thrown to the side and given 5 episodes. Lomua, Attea, and Jennifer weren't anything serious, so I'm with them not working out. Eunice was a one-off. Elena was something that could have worked, but after becoming a villain, that went down the toliet since Ben won't go for a villain. Ben deserved so much better from the writers and Cartoon Network.
Gotta love how OS established Kai as only being interested in Ben for Blitzwolfer, wanting to put a collar on him and tame him and shit, which totally isn't a red flag or anything, and then Omniverse comes out, pisses off a fanbase with that garbage breakup with Julie, just to crowbar in nasty-ass Kai, and then try to convince us they're meant to be.
*Alternate* future. The future of Ben 10k can never come from the present of Omniverse. Ben's future changes every time he interacts with it. So Ken isn't going to disappear because his past can't change. Kai and Ben aren't destined, the whole thing is stupid.

Even as a kid, I was pretty disappointed at how they handled Esther in the end. I always felt they were kind of perfect for each other. And I hate how their excuse is "fate." They've already established that there is no fate because the future keeps changing and no watch ben exists
I been saying this, fate makes no sense because as stated by the writers once he meets his future self his future changes again so Kai can't be who he is met to end up with because that future is no longer cannon anymore.
Maybe no watch Ben got with Esther idk but wishful thinking plus I do wonder how he would fight compared to the other bens probably uses gadgets to keep up with rook his mentor and he probably has his own prototool that allows him to use abilities he was the other bens used

Because everytime Ben meets his future self, his future changes, this is canon, this was establish on the first future episode of the OG series, when Future Ben gives young Ben the cake, he was never able to get Grampa Max for his birthday. This is canon, this is a fact, there was no fate fight other then to make one of his possible future son's understand this, that not every timeline would be like his. That would had been a great thing to do, that Ben slowly helped Spanner understand this, and that things being different it's *fine.*
It is not established that Ben’s future changes everytime he meets his future self. UA Ben 10,000 experienced the events of Ben 10,000 Returns when he was younger, and they specifically contrast this with how time travel worked the first time.

How's this idea: For Julie, the break up was due of Julie had graduate from school and is moving to Japan. Because of her status as a civilian and Ben drop out of high school due of his status as Protector, they knew long distance won't work so they end the relationship softly but emotional. And even share one last kiss. And with Gwen and Kevin left to Cleveland, Ben is very alone yet hide it with his cockiness. And he's aware he's attracted to Ester but he's scared of being rejected. That's make Ben more Human.

I don't feel Ben running towards Julie as him preferring her in anyway. I believe it's because he knows Ester is definitely more able to withstand being smacked back by Loona. He not only cares for as show in previous episodes he also respects her and trusts her in combat too.
Ester is the best change my mind I was distraught when I found out about the ending to Most Dangerous Gameshow. Ester was one of the best characters introduced in Omniverse and I like all the episodes she is in I actually rewatched episodes like Catfight, Rules of Engagement just because of her amazing chemistry with Ben.
@@Bezaliel13 I think the original plan was Ester since she's introduced quite early on in Omniverse but then her appearances become more sporadic I guess they remembered Julie and didn't want to replace her that early in the series then they finally break Ben and Julie up, Ester then has a few good episodes in between but eventually Kai is reintroduced and Ester was cast aside.
Honestly I always felt that Ben should have gotten with Esther cause they had chemistry especially in her introduction episode, Ben is shown to actually like being around her and went on a few dates with her and didn't act like a jackass to her during them. Hell even in the episode that brought back Julie in Omniverse she wasn't jealous or questioning Ben about her and when Looma showed up (another girl that had feelings for him) and tried to marry him. She helped him fight Looma off, then afterwards went on a date together at the end of the episode. I just feel that Ben was better off with her than Kai plus I can see Ben hooking up with a alien girl more than a human I mean Grandpa Max did it TWICE.
Ester could've been one of Ben's relationships that actually worked. She was one the only one of Ben's love interest I could see working long term. She could've been his greatest love I mean they had actually good chemistry and a connection that wasn't forced by fate. Being half human and alien Esther was able relate to Ben in a very unique way. She also liked him for Him she didn't have a weird fetish for his alien forms. Cough cough Kai. Esther could also understand and relate to Ben's responsibilities as a hero and loyalty to his people and planet as a leader . She also supported and helped him many times fighting along side him. Esther could've been the one to help Ben grow and mature into wiser and better man. She could've been his anchor grounding him to reality keeping him honest and humble. She could and should've been Bens wife.

Y'know I can think of a lot of things where both Yuri Lowenthal and Terra Platt both play characters together, but I struggle to think of anything where they end up together as a couple. Weird considering their real life long marriage to each other, and this show in particular proves that they do work really well off of each other when they try to play as romantic interests.

The reason why is because of the stupid pop-up trivia’s of classic that said that Ben was in a few relationships before being together with Kai in the future and omniverse tried it’s best to be like classic by making the pop-ups a reality but that just begs the question why Ester wasn’t Kai like she, Ben and rook could have been the omniverse trio
The problem with the fate thing. Is that Ben’s future is supposed to change every time he meets his future self. The only reason why the narrative of this future stayed the same I think, is because they had a time travelling villain that season…so is this all Maltruant’s fault? Truly. He was one of Ben’s most dangerous villains lol. Especially to his love life. It was ME Ben! I was the reason why your future son was allowed to keep going back to the past and ruined your relationship with Esther! It was so I could make the universe in my image! Lol.
Yeah I agree. I liked Ben x Ester. They were a really good match. Plus can you imagine the power scale increase on their kid?! Stretchy powers, agility, and little boost in strength plus the omnitrix with all those other alien?! He/she would be a kickass kid! 😃
Ester was really the one. She didnt have weird hang ups about his powers, she didnt have weird... "Urges" about Ben's powers, she liked Ben for him. They had incredible chemistry, theyre adorable together, let them be together damn it! But noooooo, we had to put him with Kai. A character with pretty nuch zero positive qualities.
The whole Ben x Kai situation is a perfect example as to why "travel to the future/kids from the future episodes" don't work in the long term. In defense of Kai, Ben marrying her was set up back in the early days of Ben 10 before it's spin off series were even conserved. She was meant to be a one-of character. Other things from that future episode included Kevin still being evil and wanting revenge on Ben, as well as Kevin having a son and no interest in Gwen. It's a shame because Kai had the possibility for an interesting character. Someone who studied ancient aliens, was fascinated by alien cultures, and acted as a bit of a foil for Ben in terms of personality. She was someone who took time to understand aliens and their history while Ben focused on the here and now and taking the most efficient course of action. I don't ship them, but they could of have an interesting frienemies dynamic if the writers didn't shoe-horn in the "married by fate" plotline.
The ONLY time I’ve seen this trope done well is with future trunks. He makes it a point to not interfere with the relationship between vegeta and bulma. He only starts getting more active after the universes version of him is born. I think future trunks should be the blue print on child from the future plots. I’m sure there are other examples, but even as a kid I remember future trunks being handled very well.
The OS Ben 10k was stated by a pop up to not to be bens true future, not to mention the benwolf pop up just stated "Ben and kai meet up" Doesn't mean they'll end up together.
As kid, I remember being upset when I saw the episode where Esther and Ben broke up. Even when I was a kid I knew those two had a good thing going on and the show blew it. It also didn’t help that I hated every interaction with Ben and Kai because it was just annoying to watch them argue.
I agree that Ester was the best girlfriend for him. She's got powers and isn't afraid of fighting, understands his need to go out and save the day and she doesn't nag him or drag him down. She's playful and goofy and swoons just the right amount. I hated that they wrote her off for Kai. I hated Kai. She was rude to him all the time and constantly degraded him. Spanner wouldn't exist but so what? No future is guaranteed. Ester deserved better.
Best part? There's no fate. The future of Ben 10k can never come from the present of Omniverse. It has been stablished before that Ben's future changes every time he interacts with it. So Kenny is still going to be born, his parents are still going to get together and that has nothing to do with who Ben ends up with. He could be with Ester or Julie or anyone else and it wouldn't affect Kenny's future.

Ester is the best love interest for ben, imo. I genuinely don't understand why the writers chose to make Kai the one who ben marries in the future. They have zero, and i mean *ZERO* CHEMISTRY. There is NOTHING that gives these two any possibility of a relationship. Ester on the other hand had a bunch of chemistry with ben, and genuinely cared about him.
We've seen several versions of future Bens each time when introduced we are told it's "Ben primes" future. And as somebody who doesn't believe in destiny/fate, I'm not convinced that the last future is the "Ben primes" future.

I've always liked Ben and Ester because they're pretty similar... They were both given a lot of responsibility at a young age Ben with the omnitrix and Ester with being queen and I wish they explored this concept more
I so badly wish Ester could have been Ben's endgame ship. If they wanted Ben to get with a girl who would call him out and check his ego, they could've just had Ester get tired of being ignored and putting up with Ben's hero flexes and put him in his place. Justice for Ester.
There’s probably a good guess that they wanted to write Ben and Kai together to match up with the reason why Ken has a darker skin tone in the original series. Maybe it was their way of trying to canonize some parts of that episode. Personally I don’t care too much for that and besides that version of Ben still has the prototype Omnitrix, albeit an evolved version of it, so the whole canon argument is out the window. They really did have the freedom to go a different direction with the Omniverse version of Ben 10k. It would have been cool to see what kind of kid Ester and Ben could have had. Maybe purple skin with Ben’s hair and an Omnitrix? That would be so OP.
I really hate that they gave the idea that the Omni-verse future is ABSOLUTE, that this is the future that is going to happen and nothing can stop it, this goes COMPLETELY against what all the other Ben 10 shows actually showed us, Ben 10000 was the original future, but Future Gwen interfered with the past and Ultimate Ben was the result, then he interfered with the past by restoring some omnitrix forms and unlocking others, different futures caused by interacting with the past, and yet when Ben 10k shows up, the future is just completely solidified. Ester was an absolutely brilliant character, and indeed she was even a representation of one of the things azmuth wanted with the omnitrix, bringing people together, bridging cultures, she is literally a half human hybrid, so even symbolically it works. Their personalities worked really well together when the creators weren't doing everything they could to make ben a comically bad boyfriend.
This kinda reminded me of a certain relationship from Danny Phantom that some people liked more than the fated relationship. Also, Kai is just the worst and putting her with Ben was only going to further highlight that.
Remember the Episode where Looma/Atteina/Cat girl Turned Ben into Four Arms/Bullfrag/Rath Because those were the forms they liked him the most as? This whole Ben x Kai/ Ben x Ester thing is the perfect example of why if you have to tell an audience that a couple is meant to be together, you don't respect the audience or the characters, because in a well-written couple that are meant to stay together, you don't have to tell the audience that they're meant to be, the story and the characters demonstrate that. Lumity doesn't work because the writers told me that it worked, the characters and story flowed showing why they work as a couple. Here's a rule if you have to have a character say "Those two are meant to be together" then you're obviously doing it wrong. Thomas Astruc take notes.
I think someone in the writing room just really liked Kai and just would not let it go until everyone just said "fuck it fine" so they let him have that ship. That is the only reason I can think of Kai being so forced in the way she was. A shipping battle that no one wanted to fight so they just let that boat set sail.

Why Aster stood out from other love interests of Ben was as already mentioned she liked Ben for who he was also i feel like Ben being with someone who was not a human but an alien would have been pretty cool as it would not only solidify the bond between humans and other species.

It was disappointing that they had them break up just so he can get together with Kai, someone who is not well liked because of her personality and did so haphazard. The way they had him and Julie breakup was also really dumb.

Do people just forget that alternate timelines are canon in ben 10? Some timelines are so similar to each other that there's only 1 difference between them. Ben may not get with the girl you like in the main timeline but he does in an alternate one. Everybody wins. Even people who ship ben with gwen or ben with kevin should be happy.
Ben and Gwen ? I get it Brunette and Redhead but this isn't Medieval time where you live in village and the date pool is more like a Kitty Pool. Kevin is best girl Ben never ever had a chance. Except that one time he was in his SoftCell and Sadboy phrase and attacked Gwen.
It's also really funny considering that Ester's VA, Tara Platt is married to Ben's VA, Yuri Lowenthal. So the writers basically wrote out Ben's actual IRL wife.

You know. The real problem with Kai that Sarcastic only barley touched on that's rather in your face once you realize it? They were trying to make Kai into Gwen from the original Ben 10 series. They were trying to basically give her the exacct same character and dynamic with Ben that he and Gwen had. LIke it or not Ben X Gwen is THE most popular ship in the entire franchise and it's clear that's what they wanted to re-capture with Kai. Kai is basically meant to be the girl that checks ben's ego. Snarks with him. Argues with him and nags him when he's being...Ben. Which is EXACTLY what Gwen was in the OG series. But the problem is, they used the BAD parts of it. WHat worked so well about Ben and Gwen on the OG series was that they had just as many moments of caring for eachother, being worried for eachother, protective of eachother and showing they will go to hell and back for the other without hesitation if anyone dares threaten or insult them. It balanced the nagging and Ego checking and arguments with love and a strong bond. As the video said, Omniverse was SO obessed with trying to be OG Ben 10 again that it's clear the creators looked at hte most popular ship Aka Ben X Gwen and tried to re-create that dynamic to make Kai and Ben work. But it just made a much, much worse version of it as the creators took the BAD parts of that dynamic and pushed them onto Kai trying to make them work.
No wonder the reboot refused to have Ben crushing on someone or someone crushing on him. It didn't even show the characters' family life 30 years in the future. With _Omniverse_ being the previous installment and what it did, no wonder Kai and everyone else didn't get included in anyway.
Despite her Cons, Julie is MY #1 while Ester is MY #2 Fave. I gave Ben a chance when he started being together with Ester BUT OF COURSE, the problem with the relationship is the same reason for the previous one, how THEY decided to portray Ben's Character by reverting back to being his immature JERK self cause THEY believe it sells more >:( Personal Note: Good grief! Julie was more than an extension of the Team Tennyson trio, she represented the human life, human relationships that the series gradually downplayed in favour of alien antics. Going on dates, study buddying, going to each other’s events. Ultimate Alien was where the ship sinking began, playing up Ben’s selfishness, arrogance and relationship blindness as the show became less about exploring Ben as a publicly known figure and more making that status part of the status quo. Tellingly it’s Julie who, in the Ultimate Alien series finale, grounds Ben’s humanity to allow him to only use the Dagon-infused Ascalon to restore humanity and not do anything ethically dubious like tamper with free will.

Nah there were just some plans(they weren't even concrete) they had if they ever did two more seasons which wasn't happening they knew that show was not getting renewed.
They're is nothing that states that kai was getting major plans, all Derrick stated was that the 2 cancelled seasons of omniverse was a galactic space roadtrip with Ben, rook, Gwen, Kevin, nothing proves kai was getting plans and the Destiny thing never made sense anyway.
I love Ben and Ester being a couple. I absolutely hate how Ben and Ester were no longer a couple in the episode, The Most Dangerous Game Show. In my opinion, that episode is the worst. I would've loved Ben and Ester to stay as a couple forever.

To me it feels like writers were going form making Ben and Ester a couple, and then around 5th season they realized that in the classic series Ben 10K was married to Kai so they had to find easy way to get rid of Ester... :((
I seriously don't understand how "fate" can be applied to serve a plot point in a series which canonically has alternate timelines. In all seriousness, literally any of Ben's other love interests would have been better. Julie made sense, Ester made the most sense and Looma & Attea's chemistry with ben was always more for his Fourarms and Bullfrag transformations and were very one-sided, but Kai is no better in that regard + she's a bitch. At least if Looma or Attea were chosen, it certainly would have made for an interesting story. That's for sure lol.
Only thing I dislike about Harry Potter and Ben10 … main characters never had interesting, caring relationships even though they are literally saving everyone around them, coming to Kai, most annoying arrogant character in classic Ben itself, destiny thing is crap
I seriously question what logic made them stick to Kai, I mean there's a hundred ways to preserve canon, half the time the future's not even all that set in stone. Kai's a jerk to Ben every second she is on screen from original series to Omniverse.

For me personally I love Ben and Ester. I agree with you that she seemed like the best partner for Ben. She understood his heroic life style, liked his aliens but not in any odd way but rather views it as a different side of him, like puzzle pieces that build Ben's human form, the state she loves the most. She's capable of joining him in his super hero life, more than capable of keeping up with Ben and Rook on his missions and they had strong chemistry. While she didn't get the worst break up, that's Julie by far. I feel like the series did her so dirty, both in her limited screentime but also in how Ben just sort of ignores her, especially since she seemed so willing to get involved in his hobbies and interests but he showed a pretty big disinterest in her love of ancient tech and history.

Let me tell you something about Ben10 when Ben meets his version of the future Ben's present future changes and this happened three times in the original show and Ultimate aliens and omomiverse so when Ben meets the present with his version of the future Ben's future changes and he becomes Ben's future timeline so between omniverse won't Kai marries in the future and his future is unknown
If Ben wasn't gonna be with Julie he definitely should've been with Esther who seemed like a great match for him (personality and cause I like her more than Kai)
Man, I am exploding in anger haha I mean I love this show like I really really love it, I grew up with it but man does it have so many flaws that just gets me irking sometimes, like so many things that could've been done better but were not done because it was decided by CN's higher-ups that there needs to be a change for it to be shipped out to the masses, add time constraints, strict rules on what the creators can and can't do and the threat of cancellation and we ended up with a lot plot holes left answered by "oh because Celestial Sapiens make changes to the universe all the time" ok, this is actually really cool but it ain't an excuse enough to block out everything. tl:dr love this show but man there's just things in it that make me facepalm

Ester and Unis had best chemistry with Ben imo one of those two were good for him. Kai could have also worked since they already told each time Ben sees his future it branches to a different timeline because you know he already saw the future so he takes different decisions and whatnot thus technically there should be different timeliness where he's with Kai, Unis, Ester, Julie..etc. His future "son" literally forced Kai on him because of "fate" even though that ben was an alternate version. Really stupid they didn't even follow the rules they established.

Same with Ben. The network butchered him so badly by the time of Omniverse. If Ben didn't go though that regression in AF season 3, he would have still a decent boyfriend. His relationship with Julie became all over the place because of the forced drama between them in Ultimate Alien and the less said about the Omniverse breakup the better. Kai was awful. She deserved much, much worse. Ester had a lot of potential, but she was thrown to the side and given 5 episodes. Lomua, Attea, and Jennifer weren't anything serious, so I'm with them not working out. Eunice was a one-off. Elena was something that could have worked, but after becoming a villain, that went down the toliet since Ben won't go for a villain. Ben deserved so much better from the writers and Cartoon Network.

Even as a kid, I was pretty disappointed at how they handled Esther in the end. I always felt they were kind of perfect for each other. And I hate how their excuse is "fate." They've already established that there is no fate because the future keeps changing and no watch ben exists

And even share one last kiss. And with Gwen and Kevin left to Cleveland, Ben is very alone yet hide it with his cockiness. And he's aware he's attracted to Ester but he's scared of being rejected. I don't feel Ben running towards Julie as him preferring her in anyway. I believe it's because he knows Ester is definitely more able to withstand being smacked back by Loona. He not only cares for as show in previous episodes he also respects her and trusts her in combat too.
Ester is the best change my mind I was distraught when I found out about the ending to Most Dangerous Gameshow. Ester was one of the best characters introduced in Omniverse and I like all the episodes she is in I actually rewatched episodes like Catfight, Rules of Engagement just because of her amazing chemistry with Ben.

@@Bezaliel13 I think the original plan was Ester since she's introduced quite early on in Omniverse but then her appearances become more sporadic I guess they remembered Julie and didn't want to replace her that early in the series then they finally break Ben and Julie up, Ester then has a few good episodes in between but eventually Kai is reintroduced and Ester was cast aside.

Honestly I always felt that Ben should have gotten with Esther cause they had chemistry especially in her introduction episode, Ben is shown to actually like being around her and went on a few dates with her and didn't act like a jackass to her during them. Hell even in the episode that brought back Julie in Omniverse she wasn't jealous or questioning Ben about her and when Looma showed up (another girl that had feelings for him) and tried to marry him. She helped him fight Looma off, then afterwards went on a date together at the end of the episode. I just feel that Ben was better off with her than Kai plus I can see Ben hooking up with a alien girl more than a human I mean Grandpa Max did it TWICE.

Ester could've been one of Ben's relationships that actually worked. She was one the only one of Ben's love interest I could see working long term. She could've been his greatest love I mean they had actually good chemistry and a connection that wasn't forced by fate. Being half human and alien Esther was able relate to Ben in a very unique way. She also liked him for Him she didn't have a weird fetish for his alien forms. Cough cough Kai. Esther could also understand and relate to Ben's responsibilities as a hero and loyalty to his people and planet as a leader . She also supported and helped him many times fighting along side him. Esther could've been the one to help Ben grow and mature into wiser and better man. She could've been his anchor grounding him to reality keeping him honest and humble. She could and should've been Bens wife.

Y'know I can think of a lot of things where both Yuri Lowenthal and Terra Platt both play characters together, but I struggle to think of anything where they end up together as a couple. Weird considering their real life long marriage to each other, and this show in particular proves that they do work really well off of each other when they try to play as romantic interests.

The whole Ben x Kai situation is a perfect example as to why "travel to the future/kids from the future episodes" don't work in the long term. In defense of Kai, Ben marrying her was set up back in the early days of Ben 10 before it's spin off series were even conserved. She was meant to be a one-of character. Other things from that future episode included Kevin still being evil and wanting revenge on Ben, as well as Kevin having a son and no interest in Gwen.
It's a shame because Kai had the possibility for an interesting character. Someone who studied ancient aliens, was fascinated by alien cultures, and acted as a bit of a foil for Ben in terms of personality. She was someone who took time to understand aliens and their history while Ben focused on the here and now and taking the most efficient course of action. I don't ship them, but they could of have an interesting frienemies dynamic if the writers didn't shoe-horn in the "married by fate" plotline.
The ONLY time I’ve seen this trope done well is with future trunks. He makes it a point to not interfere with the relationship between vegeta and bulma. He only starts getting more active after the universes version of him is born. I think future trunks should be the blue print on child from the future plots. I’m sure there are other examples, but even as a kid I remember future trunks being handled very well.
The OS Ben 10k was stated by a pop up to not to be bens true future, not to mention the benwolf pop up just stated "Ben and kai meet up" Doesn't mean they'll end up together.

As kid, I remember being upset when I saw the episode where Esther and Ben broke up. Even when I was a kid I knew those two had a good thing going on and the show blew it. It also didn’t help that I hated every interaction with Ben and Kai because it was just annoying to watch them argue.
I agree that Ester was the best girlfriend for him. She's got powers and isn't afraid of fighting, understands his need to go out and save the day and she doesn't nag him or drag him down. She's playful and goofy and swoons just the right amount.
I hated that they wrote her off for Kai. I hated Kai. She was rude to him all the time and constantly degraded him. Spanner wouldn't exist but so what? No future is guaranteed. Ester deserved better.
Best part? There's no fate. The future of Ben 10k can never come from the present of Omniverse. It has been stablished before that Ben's future changes every time he interacts with it. So Kenny is still going to be born, his parents are still going to get together and that has nothing to do with who Ben ends up with. He could be with Ester or Julie or anyone else and it wouldn't affect Kenny's future.

Ester is the best love interest for ben, imo. I genuinely don't understand why the writers chose to make Kai the one who ben marries in the future. They have zero, and i mean *ZERO* CHEMISTRY. We've seen several versions of future Bens each time when introduced we are told it's "Ben primes" future. And as somebody who doesn't believe in destiny/fate, I'm not convinced that the last future is the "Ben primes" future.

There’s probably a good guess that they wanted to write Ben and Kai together to match up with the reason why Ken has a darker skin tone in the original series. Maybe it was their way of trying to canonize some parts of that episode. Personally I don’t care too much for that and besides that version of Ben still has the prototype Omnitrix, albeit an evolved version of it, so the whole canon argument is out the window. They really did have the freedom to go a different direction with the Omniverse version of Ben 10k. It would have been cool to see what kind of kid Ester and Ben could have had. Maybe purple skin with Ben’s hair and an Omnitrix? That would be so OP.

I really hate that they gave the idea that the Omni-verse future is ABSOLUTE, that this is the future that is going to happen and nothing can stop it, this goes COMPLETELY against what all the other Ben 10 shows actually showed us, Ben 10000 was the original future, but Future Gwen interfered with the past and Ultimate Ben was the result, then he interfered with the past by restoring some omnitrix forms and unlocking others, different futures caused by interacting with the past, and yet when Ben 10k shows up, the future is just completely solidified.
Ester was an absolutely brilliant character, and indeed she was even a representation of one of the things azmuth wanted with the omnitrix, bringing people together, bridging cultures, she is literally a half human hybrid, so even symbolically it works. Their personalities worked really well together when the creators weren't doing everything they could to make ben a comically bad boyfriend.

This whole Ben x Kai/ Ben x Ester thing is the perfect example of why if you have to tell an audience that a couple is meant to be together, you don't respect the audience or the characters, because in a well-written couple that are meant to stay together, you don't have to tell the audience that they're meant to be, the story and the characters demonstrate that. Lumity doesn't work because the writers told me that it worked, the characters and story flowed showing why they work as a couple. I think someone in the writing room just really liked Kai and just would not let it go until everyone just said "fuck it fine" so they let him have that ship. That is the only reason I can think of Kai being so forced in the way she was. A shipping battle that no one wanted to fight so they just let that boat set sail.

You know. The real problem with Kai that Sarcastic only barley touched on that's rather in your face once you realize it? They were trying to make Kai into Gwen from the original Ben 10 series. They were trying to basically give her the exacct same character and dynamic with Ben that he and Gwen had. LIke it or not Ben X Gwen is THE most popular ship in the entire franchise and it's clear that's what they wanted to re-capture with Kai.
Kai is basically meant to be the girl that checks ben's ego. Snarks with him. Argues with him and nags him when he's being...Ben.
Which is EXACTLY what Gwen was in the OG series.

WHat worked so well about Ben and Gwen on the OG series was that they had just as many moments of caring for eachother, being worried for eachother, protective of eachother and showing they will go to hell and back for the other without hesitation if anyone dares threaten or insult them.
It balanced the nagging and Ego checking and arguments with love and a strong bond.
As the video said, Omniverse was SO obessed with trying to be OG Ben 10 again that it's clear the creators looked at hte most popular ship Aka Ben X Gwen and tried to re-create that dynamic to make Kai and Ben work.
But it just made a much, much worse version of it as the creators took the BAD parts of that dynamic and pushed them onto Kai trying to make them work.

Nah Ben was flanderzed way before omniverse. The lesson here is any thing from ben 10 is better than the entirety of alien force season 3.
No wonder the reboot refused to have Ben crushing on someone or someone crushing on him. It didn't even show the characters' family life 30 years in the future. With _Omniverse_ being the previous installment and what it did, no wonder Kai and everyone else didn't get included in anyway.
I still can't believe they did all that build up with Ester, just to crash half way and have ben marrying an alien furry.
Despite her Cons, Julie is MY #1 while Ester is MY #2 Fave. I gave Ben a chance when he started being together with Ester BUT OF COURSE, the problem with the relationship is the same reason for the previous one, how THEY decided to portray Ben's Character by reverting back to being his immature JERK self cause THEY believe it sells more >:(

Julie was more than an extension of the Team Tennyson trio, she represented the human life, human relationships that the series gradually downplayed in favour of alien antics. Going on dates, study buddying, going to each other’s events. Ultimate Alien was where the ship sinking began, playing up Ben’s selfishness, arrogance and relationship blindness as the show became less about exploring Ben as a publicly known figure and more making that status part of the status quo. Tellingly it’s Julie who, in the Ultimate Alien series finale, grounds Ben’s humanity to allow him to only use the Dagon-infused Ascalon to restore humanity and not do anything ethically dubious like tamper with free will.

I doubt it. Kai was just a one-off that just so happened to be the first crush Ben had for a girl his age, as if that actually means anything when her true colors show a desire to treat him less like a boyfriend and more like a pet. They chucked her ass back in and broke things off with Julie in such an infuriating way for this wretch, and only continued to make their "development" annoying. I really do not think they could've stuck the landing

Nah there were just some plans(they weren't even concrete) they had if they ever did two more seasons which wasn't happening they knew that show was not getting renewed.
They're is nothing that states that kai was getting major plans, all Derrick stated was that the 2 cancelled seasons of omniverse was a galactic space roadtrip with Ben, rook, Gwen, Kevin, nothing proves kai was getting plans and the Destiny thing never made sense anyway.
I remember as a kid where I really enjoyed Ester’s character and being pissed off when Kai returned.
I love Ben and Ester being a couple. I absolutely hate how Ben and Ester were no longer a couple in the episode, The Most Dangerous Game Show. In my opinion, that episode is the worst. I would've loved Ben and Ester to stay as a couple forever.

If they really wanted Kai to be the one for Ben, why couldn't they have him and Ester date as teenagers, then show him with Kai as an adult? It's a lot more accurate to real life, most teenagers don't grow up to settle down with people they dated in high school.

I seriously don't understand how "fate" can be applied to serve a plot point in a series which canonically has alternate timelines. In all seriousness, literally any of Ben's other love interests would have been better. Julie made sense, Ester made the most sense and Looma & Attea's chemistry with ben was always more for his Fourarms and Bullfrag transformations and were very one-sided, but Kai is no better in that regard + she's a bitch. At least if Looma or Attea were chosen, it certainly would have made for an interesting story. That's for sure lol.

For me personally I love Ben and Ester. I agree with you that she seemed like the best partner for Ben. She understood his heroic life style, liked his aliens but not in any odd way but rather views it as a different side of him, like puzzle pieces that build Ben's human form, the state she loves the most. She's capable of joining him in his super hero life, more than capable of keeping up with Ben and Rook on his missions and they had strong chemistry.
While she didn't get the worst break up, that's Julie by far. I feel like the series did her so dirty, both in her limited screentime but also in how Ben just sort of ignores her, especially since she seemed so willing to get involved in his hobbies and interests but he showed a pretty big disinterest in her love of ancient tech and history.

Man, I am exploding in anger haha I mean I love this show like I really really love it, I grew up with it but man does it have so many flaws that just gets me irking sometimes, like so many things that could've been done better but were not done because it was decided by CN's higher-ups that there needs to be a change for it to be shipped out to the masses, add time constraints, strict rules on what the creators can and can't do and the threat of cancellation and we ended up with a lot plot holes left answered by "oh because Celestial Sapiens make changes to the universe all the time" ok, this is actually really cool but it ain't an excuse enough to block out everything.

Ester and Unis had best chemistry with Ben imo one of those two were good for him. Kai could have also worked since they already told each time Ben sees his future it branches to a different timeline because you know he already saw the future so he takes different decisions and whatnot thus technically there should be different timeliness where he's with Kai, Unis, Ester, Julie..etc. His future "son" literally forced Kai on him because of "fate" even though that ben was an alternate version. Really stupid they didn't even follow the rules they established.
