This is a easy technique I've found to be useful to figure out how much fabric I need for a sewing pattern. Please share any other techniques you know of below.
Very very informative. For my tip: I keep a very large cutting mat on my table( I actually diy/built my table to accommodate 60” wide fabric.......placed my large cutting mat on it and it stays there. That way I will always have a measuring guide to work with. Absolutely enjoyed( as I do always) your tutorial. 🥰
Wow! I really had fun watching this video, I also struggle when buying fabrics but I don't think I'll worry anymore after watching this video. Thanks a lot for sharing God bless you.
Thank you for this. I just finished flat drafting a long skirt with pleated insets, and i asked my husband how much material he thought I might need to actually make it {I should have just asked my cats}. This came along EXACTLY when I needed it. Thank you, thank you. Stay well!
Hello! I have a question regarding shirring. Is shirring achievable using hand stitching? And if anybody have any idea on how to do it, it would be very helpful. If it is achievable, I will try my ways to get it done. Even if it will be very meticulous, I wouldn't mind. I am a beginner in sewing, and I don't even have a sewing machine yet. I already finished my first project (t-shirt with bishop sleeve) by hand sewing and it was awesome thanks to your tutorials. However, I want to try to make different thing now, and in my design, it requires shirring to keep the garment tight to many body shapes, as well as ease of getting it on and off. Thank you!
So Priscilla what about a person who sew free hand cutting, no patterns how will they know how much fabric to buy for their sewing project explain please ,thank and humble also don't understand stand metrics so much, inches, yards 😳
There has to be an easier way. My husband is a big man. His chest is 52, waist is 54, hip is 50. His bodice is 34". I want to make a coat. He's 6'4" Do I have to make the pattern first to determine the fabric meeded? Please, can you find a math calculation? Thanks

I totally enjoyed watching this. Really helpful but I’ll like to know if it’s best measured in meters or yards while on fold ?
Both units of measurement work just fine.
How clever!
Thanks Ruby
