Step by Step Tutorial How to Fix Ninebot ES2 ES4 Headlight on Brake Applied Automatically No Power
Вставка
- Опубліковано 16 вер 2024
- The headlight issue is very common in ES2 and ES4. It appears when you turn on the headlight and the brake is applied automatically and you could not accelerate it or ride it. One of the fuse broken and the repair is to bridge that fuse and let the current run through it again. What you need to do is to put the solder on top of it.

There should be a class action lawsuit against this company. The least they could do is announce a recall in order to fix this problem
Thinking the same, whole Facebook pages with tons of errors, and we all fixing it like idiot. And they are getting rich with a shitty product. The city I life in you can’t buy these anywhere just Xiaomi 365 because the shops probably went crazy with all the errors.
@@lionelfranklin4529 it is a super product. I have had mine for 4 years without any problems.
But today this happened to me. I bend up my sleeves and get to work. Whining does not help.

i think i got lucky on the soldering, this actually fixed my scooter, seems like it has a little more power also, thanks for the video.
LOL you give me motivation, I think I will do it !!
Just tried this fix and it worked! It took me an hour in total. Thanks for uploading!
I am really thankful. Your instructions repaired it. My ES2 functions again as it once did, when I first bought it. I must, however, confess that the whole process of fixing is tiresome. It requires a lot of patience and many technical tools (thank God, my father had everything I needed). But everything now works perfectly fine again. Be well! Thank you!
Hey , how's your scooter doing right now after you fixed it?
Great video, hope I never have to do the repair but thank you for your work fixing it 👍
So I literally just got my scoot es4 and what happens is when you have the light on and go up a steep hill it fries that little chip and limits the speed. So by just bridging it with solder it won't do that. So don't go up a way steep hill with lights on or you will be in my boat now needing to do this mod.
Brilliant video - mine had the same issue and First Canary Wharf got my scooter working perfectly! This is the reason why you should never waste £400+ buying from a random eBay/online re-seller as you get Zero support! First Canary Wharf are official Segway Ninebot distributors and passionate about the scooters they sell! Great video guys! 😎
Your video helped me! I’m not very technical, but I fixed it all by myself with your tutorial, thanks a lot!🙌🏻
Goodness. You’re a good man. Segway should thank you.
it worked, i used a bit too much solder and it was a painfull job to clean the mess but thank god the problem is fixed
Thanks for the video. Helped me to fix my scooter. The most tricky part was the soldering since everything is really tiny. I didn't manage to simply bridge the fuse, most likely because of the PCB coating. Had to remove the fuse alltogether and bridge between the soldering points. Tricky even with a magnifier at hand.
Excellent! I just fixed my ES4 thanks to You! 5+
Hey, can you update me on the condition of your scooter right now since you applied that fix?... Is it still working perfectly fine or what?
@@ScheggGaming Everything still fine. All still working. I have done currently around 200km after that fix.
So do you still have the external battery installed since then?
@@ScheggGaming Yes. Everything as same and front light working without issue.
Thanks very much buddy ...I will work on mine today
Work fine, fixed my es2 with external battery, recover the speed with and without light, and cruice control. Thanks!
I need to zoom this guy this video help me out a lot doing a repair on my friend scooter today
Perfect video!!!! Thank you so much!
Ty so much for posting this video. I really appreciate you✌
Thanks for video. I fixed my scooter 💪😉
Realy good video. Just fixed mine scooter
Hi, can you tell me if this fix is still working on your scooter 3 months later or if it did not cause other issues,
the same question to those who did this fix also,
btw, nice video it helps a lot, thank you
João Santos it doesn’t happen again
@@firstcanarywharf5713 ill give it a try then. Thank you
Hi, I need help. Shown in your movie around 3:36 the control unit just slides out. I have unscrewed all screws, but my control board doesn't slide out. Please help!
Awesome, I took the chance based on the reviews and so far... its working!! Let you know if anything changes. Thx!!
I guess it’s still working? No complications?
My scooter began to operate differently after I performed this operation. It now operates at 20 mph as though this modified the es4 motor constant value. Idk if it’s safe or not, but I’ll let you know if it fries.
One month update: range has improved, I think the battery was just under voltage from long term storage, and has recovered after a few full charges. Still watching for anomalies, and so far haven’t noticed any new ones.
IT WORKED!!! Thanks for the video very helpful
Can I fix my Es1 like this? I have the exact same problem on mine..
I already fixed it. Thanks good information.
Sir, If I replace the control board it will fix the problem? or do I need to solder like you did?
Hi, I have an ES4 with this problem, how much would you charge to fix it if I bring the scooter to you? :)
this is tutorial, not service advertising. DIY
what material did u use to solder?
Thank you!
My es2 does this when i installed the extended battery, but i don't have to turn on the light to have the break lights flash and my max speed is 9mph. With out the extended battery i'm running at 16mph and everything works fine. Will this fix my issue?
@@justinh4306 i tried it and didn't work. Still does the same thing. I think it's my Control Board itself. I'll buy one from eBay.
Hello,
I have a question, ¿do you know if i can remove some speed limit cable? is it possible?
I also want to know this
you can flash the custom firmware wich allows you full power without external battery
gyronews.com/cfw-un-firmware-pour-debrider-la-ninebot-es2-2849/ if you dont know french use translator the link to the download is in the middle of text
@@matejbrezan6887 iv got a standard es2 it goes like 25 to 28 km are you saying I can make this faster?
Bradley Clark sure, but most probbably you will end up fcking up the fuse, wich will most likely fail anyways, the repair is really simple, you can try that firmware, it really has some kick to it 😃🔥
Hello,
would you be able to fix this for someone before they purchase directly from you so that it doesn't occur in the future?
Mohammed Chaudhrey no sorry because I need to keep them brand new sealed in box. Also this issue occur occasionally maybe 1/10, so it is hard to tell before using it
Nice. I try it. Thank you
You ROCK... Worked perfect...
Is this issue now fixed on the Ninebot ES2 ES4 being sold? Is it present on version 1.3, or is this issue on all Ninebots ES2 ES4?
Nicolas Gabriel-Robez we reported this to the factory and they will improve it.
Yes still happening on hardware revision 1.3
I need help. I bought a new es2 and started it and glow lights and rear lights doesn’t work. But everything else is perfect. I don’t found the answer to that could you help me in some way?
And none cable is cut at bottom. It’s totally fine. 😞
Great video
Its very odd that this only occurs when we do firmware updates. So they are delibretly breaking out scooters after xx years to then force us to buy new ones..
This is not true, my last firmware update was 1 year ago and this problem occured last week on my es4 (because of a very big hill with lights on).
I love you! You saved me
Grazie
Funciona perfeitamente
Ďakujem, pomohlo :)
My lights underneath ain't working guys anyone please help
Mine either you figure that out? I have same problem!! Any help would be great!
What happens if the battery charged but won't turn on
READ NOW i had this happen to me i did the soldering properly it work BUT i took it out side I was riding it for a while and then all of a sudden it died and started to apply the brake non stop and now i need a new control board and even then idk if that will fix it cause it’s said something about error 19 but the battery was fine DO THIS AT YOURE OWN RISK SINCE NEW BOARDS ARE EXPENSIVE
You have not informed anyone. That by bridging this circuit this will work until motherboard will fry out! Better is to replace the resistor…
Good video, but you need to warn your viewers that performing this procedure will void their warranty.
already add this in the description. Thanks for reminding this.
I’m thinking people who needs to do this probably bought their scooters without warranty in the first place.
Gabriel Lundmark I was reminding him because, as a business, he's obligated to warn his customers when he gives advice that may void their warranty.
Also, many people prefer to do low cost maintenance themselves (if capable) as repairs under warranty take much longer.
Not all repairs for the ES2 void the warranty, but this particular one does.
V A I always remind my customers about this. I know there is a sticker on the cap. This video is made to help those people who buy from gearbest or they cannot get support from their seller.
Gabriel Lundmark this is actually a video I fixed for my customer.
I broke my scooter because i flooded my board with solder be careful.
Me too. I bought a new board online for about 200$. Didn't have the right gear or skill for such small solder.
Lol
Please put a 10 - 100ohm resistor inline at the headlight instead. That fuse actually has protective properties.. I'd not advise to use this fix anymore.
This sounds interesting. How/where do you do this on the scooter?
@@scottdouglas7809 since then I believe 50Ohm is fine too. Doesnt lower luminosity too much.
You unscrew dashboard.
At bottom of dash where wires go in you can unscrew two screws to get to the dashboard lamp. Cut one of the wires and solder resistor in line.
absolut bullshit ... u cant compare a resistor with a fuse.. the fuse is selfhealing.. that meens it recovers in secounds/minutes. i unsoldert mine and messured 0,001 ohms so its working.
that bad news are its a circuit fault and to bridge a saftey component isnt good.. so work out whats the fault or buy a new board instead for 30dollar and be on the safe way.
@@gerohoffmann2 learn English better. I can't understand what's your point...
So... just tell us HOW should we fix it?
Have an Es1 trhat when light is on speed limited to 15km/h on sport . Also cannot updated via app, and keeps beeping for a while. Another issue being it does not show charging percentage, shows what it was last time but not no move up and it stops at 95%. Would this probably fix them all or does mine have multiple issues?
Does yours code 42 46 and 48 when charging?
@@joseph-is-my-name Mine does. Any hints?
@@paziwork first I no longer recommend Segway. But I ended up going on eBay and buying a used external battery from someone for $50. He guarantee it would work or refund. A new battery would have cost $200. These scooter are so terrible many people sell all the old parts from broken scooters on eBay. Good luck
@@joseph-is-my-name So a battery change helped, and the controller was OK. Thank you, this is helpful.

How to fix if there's no light in rear and bottom?
Hey, I have a problem with my ES4 the same thing no rear lights and no bottom lights 😮but everything else is working
Is this kind of issue noticeable for all es2/es4 users?
Lucien Vedra not really but I just want to help people in need
If your scooter was manufactured before 2019 (when revision 1.3 came out) yes but after that no
Or just send it back to the store ? @0:58 say god bye to warenty
a lot of people buy it from a gray source and no one cares their warranty, this video is mainly made to help people without warranty or cost too much to fix such a small issue.
Goodbye* Warranty*
Creat tutorial to ruin my Ninebot, followed you step by step, now I can throw to garbage my scooter. Yey!!!
I seemed to work with 50+ others including mine, not saying that you did something wrong but I mean there is a chance since we all managed. (Btw why throw it in the trash can’t you just buy a new logic board?)
Help me please
What do I do if the battery is stuck and does not slide out?
I faced the same problem here, there was a little tape blocking the controller tube, I got rid of it with a screwdriver and a hammer, hitting the little piece of aluminum near the "alimentation plug".
I’ve got issue I bought a secondhand scooter I’m buying a another motherboard basically when you want it up the break is switching on or some sort of regeneration is switching on if you can you help me you’re in Canary Wharf if you’re in London I will pay the cost if you wanna fix it for me but you could come round to my house or home I’ll pick you up pay for your service if you kindly help me thank you
Damn, you're so annoying.
This is the incorrect way of solving the problem. You are bypassing a safety fuse. There's much easier ways!!! But if you insist on doing this, you can use wire glue or conductive paste. no soldering skills required :-) If you want to learn to fix things right, join a facebook or telegram scooter repair group!
James Bond thanks for dropping reference for wire/conducting glue. Helped me out!
hey, someone with common sense :D
Wait you can use wire glue? Are there any specifications on which wire glues work? Can you link one? Also what is the easier way to fix this?
So how a common person should solve this? Why hadn't you written. It's precisely described problem - tell us the solution that everyone can use as fix.
That does not seem easy
nice write up but might be easier to buy a $10 LED LIGHT and attach it LOL
My new ES2 just arrived and it won't turn on. Not even a beep or the slightest light comes from the dashboard. :( What could I do? (I checked the battery and the output is 5V. Maybe it's too low...?)
check the cables
@@WerewolfMaster I bought a used battery and it worked. So maybe it was the whole battery or just the cables that were faulty. We will never know... Then about half a year after that I wrecked the scooter lol
