I know Paddy and The Rats since 2018 in this channel, when I'm at the lowest point of my life. Then I found Castaway, and I never find a song so relatable to my condition that day. Then I learned more songs of Paddy and the Rats after that, and when I found out the news that Bernie has passed away it feels surreal., 😢

My first reaction was "wow, another great song from Paddy and the rats"... then I saw the end and discovered one of your members has passed away :( Makes it all the more powerful.

Gosh this is such a heartbreaker and tearjerker. I love every member of this band, but Bernie was my favorite. "Join the riot" was the song that got me into this band, and Bernie in that video, switching from the troublemaker pirate to absolutely having a blast on his accordion on the ship deck always drew me in. Man, I'm so sorry for your all's loss. He was still so young. RIP, Bernie. We'll all miss you so much.
I have been following the Rats ever since the band was formed. I have encountered them by chance, they were invited to our school when I was a kid (Hungarian middle school). Fell in love with them. Been to countless gigs to party the fuck out to their tunes. When I've heard the news, I could not really process it. And due to a lot of difficult times in my life, I lost my ability to cry. This band, their songs helped me through a lot, and when watching this, I was finally able to process the loss. Grieve. Even though I have never knew Bernie on a personal level, him and the band has been a big part of my life. And after who knows how long I was able to cry again for something. It may sound stupid, or weird, that a guy who does not cry, did so for someone he only met on concerts and once in backstage. But this band became a big part of my life, and this is a wonderful memento for Bernie. So thanks guys, and I hope you will be able to push through, and remember him always. Art is special, and your music is special. See you around, hopefully soon, at a concert somewhere.
He's part of something important in your life. I think it's okay to cry for the loss. I'm sure he would be pleased to know he reached out to people to such a degree.

I met the band 2 years ago by accident I downloaded some songs and since then it's my favorite band.
