Really good idea Jim! I learned this song on banjo awhile back and I did a video of it last summer and it's the most viewed video on my channel. People seem to like hearing songs they know on the banjo. I bet this will get a ton of views!

This is great! Jim, I just wanted to let you know the progress I've made on my Banjo journey so far is largely due to your You-Tube instruction videos, the great versions of tunes that you put up and the tabs that you post. Thanx a bunch! Please keep it going you are doing great and your help is very much appreciated. Cheers!

I think learning "non-traditional" banjo melodies builds keyboard know-how. Those chord changes in Sweet Home Alabama don't occur often in bluegrass. Thanks, Jim. You're still the best teacher on the Internet.

Love your channel. I picked up a banjo last fall. I used your videos to get me started. Then the second week of November I got the pneumonia. I was in the hospital until January 10th. Nearly died, twice. Once home I picked up my banjo, but my hands shook so bad I couldn't hardly pick at all, But I kept at it and now I'm back to where I left off 3 months ago.

Uh… go back to the beginning of the video. Furthermore, it’s three chords… over and over. I think most folks are able to figure it out based on the short demo.

    Hi Jim!
I really like this arrangement, it adds a lot of color to the song. I just learned Bonaparte's retreat and even made up a whole section of the tab I found to make it sound better, which I never thought I'd be able to do! Thank you so much for putting this stuff out and helping me and everyone else here learn all this stuff.

Loving these banjo remixes of classic rock. Would also love to see some Dock Boggs style tutorials if you're interested in that technique(it's a really easy transition for guitar fingerpickers like myself 😆). Thank you for preserving the musical history of this country, good sir!

Hi Jim! I'm hoping for some clarification around 3:22 - when it switch and you strum the 3rd string in G, then you do the forward roll - how should my left hand fingers be positioned? I keep rewinding, but I don't know what shape you're holing during the slide from 2-5 and during the forward roll. Thanks!
