You started me off on cripple creek fun stuff and you are my sunshine. thanks for not giving up on your videos you still make me laph keep up the good work .
What an ABSOLUTE COOL SOUNDING TUNE! I’m practicing it slowly so that I can play at the tempo you are playing it. I DIG THE HECK OUT OF TUNES LIKE THIS. I heard tunes like this played at MerleFest jams!!!!!!! Thanks for teaching and sharing your love and skill of banjo music!!!
Jim, my brother gave me his old banjo and I decided to learn it. I went through your 10 tutorials and am amazed at how fast I learned. Today is only day 3 of practice and I am amazed how fast I can play cripple creek and boil em cabbage down (I have a few months of guitar experience which helps). Sir, you earned a patreon and I’m so excited to continue learning this beautiful instrument. Thanks brother!
Would love to a one on one lesson with you I would say I'm a little more in the advanced stage and could use your expertise I'm into tyrd time out lonesome river band jd Crow kind of driving bluesie type music
Definitely putting this one on the list. It should be pretty easy since I got pretty polly and hanging tree down which seem pretty similar. Thanks Jim!
Excellent tune Jim, that's a new one on me. I like the look of those banjos wearing spacesuits in the back there - I'd no idea you were in the NASA Banjos in Orbit Program.
I have spent a lot of time on this one and I found it harder than it looks. Not giving up. Something in that last part that sounds easier than actually doing it :)
@Mike Bastiat could also be you might not be ready yet? As for tab on the screen... don't count on that. I'd rather y'all use your ears instead of your eyes.
@Mike Bastiat There ya go... you're just starting. You might "think" you can hear and see everything, but just like playing, those are skills that improve as you practice. You'll eventually be able to hear what the right hand is doing too. You've got a lot of right hand work to sort out yet though. Give it time. I know it's so tempting to jump way ahead, but you've got to get a good foundation. It's not like I'm trying to gate-keep; it's just me trying to keep you out of the weeds until you get your footing.
Thank you kindly for letting me know about the song oh susannah I won’t bother perusing the banjo any further in the New year Thanks Again for letting me know Kindest Regards
Great video! Thank you so much! I love learning from such a pro! I have a request. Would you consider teaching the John Hartford tune Gentle On My Mind?. There are so many of us who greatly appreciate you lovingly sharing this beautiful art of banjo music. God bless you sir!
You might not remember me but I commented a few weeks back telling you about how my banjo breaking but now in like 1 week I'm getting a new banjo and this is going to be the next song I learn when I get it
I like how you called it a new tune. 🤣 I guess it's new compared to the classic standards, but the truth is, it's at least a quarter of a century old. Sounds real old when I say it that way. Thanks for this one, it's one of my favorites. Can you do a follow up on this one with some cool rolling back- up? Thanks again and keep 'em coming.
@@JimPankey hi Jim, is this you, or is someone using your picture and trying to pull some kind of scam on people, saying to text them saying they have been selected as a winner? Thanks Jim
I just heard Blue Highway’s version. I like Jim’s so much better. It’s so Bluesy. As soon as I get my banjo back together, this song is next on my learn list.
Every time Jim right when I need you!❤️🪕
I'm spying on your jams.... lol. ;) 😝

Keep at it. You can do it.
@@JimPankey Thank you! It was that 3-1-5-3-5-1 roll that gives it that that unusual timing.

That 35 is sounding mighty fine
It's the one I'm giving away soon - I hope.
@@JimPankey Well that’s great, I hope someone very deserving and passionate about the banjo wins it if you plan on doing that!!
I have really enjoyedleaning this & your Clinch mountain backstep. Would you be able to direct me to any similar tunes. Thanks so much for sharing.

Great tutorial Mr Pankey! Also I have a request, the name is Arkansas by the Osborne Brothers, keep up the great work, dude.
Thanks, and thanks for the suggestion.
you should do home of the red fox next :)
Thanks for the suggestion
Is there any tab available for this? I’m so slow I need something to read it from.
Tab link is in the description
@@JimPankey There it is! I missed it. I couldn't see for looking. Thanks
Hey i was wondering if you could do a video on the Cherokee Shuffle, thanks.
I have no plans for it. I do have some lesson notes I made for a student here: ua-cam.com/video/riUzb33shYw/v-deo.html

that's still quite new in the scheme of things. I've been playing since 1977, so quarters of centuries add up pretty quick...

Scammer… 😡
@@JimPankey thank you sir
That's a cool sounding tune!! Is that the banjo you said on instagram you'll be giving away?
Thanks! Yes, it is!
@@JimPankey Awesome! Lookin forward to the opportunity to win it!
What style of music is that? I'd call it swamp blues or bayou blues. What ever it is, I need MORE! What search term should I use to Google for more?
I just heard Blue Highway’s version. I like Jim’s so much better. It’s so Bluesy. As soon as I get my banjo back together, this song is next on my learn list.
I just call it bluegrass. :)
Hopefully it’s autographed by u jim
It certainly can be!
Jim, are you able to play those tunes mainly from memorization?
It's not really memorization. I just kinda know how I want a tune to go and I play it.
Can you make a tutorial how to play Long Black Train from Josh Turner
Thanks for the suggestion
Is this a new banjo, or just a new head on your old RK-35?
It's new. I'm giving it away soon - I hope.
Do you think you could do another video on cowboys and Indians your last one is a little fast🙂
Feel free to pause, rewind, use UA-cam’s slowdown feature
Ok, thanks didn’t think of that 😊
Hey Jim, I know it would be a pain in the bottom, but it sure would nice if you could throw up some tab on some of these songs.
I have tabs for most of my tunes. As a matter of fact I have the tab for this one. Link is in the description.
Thanks Jim, I just downloaded the tabs. You have tons of songs I'd love to learn. I'll be using your downloads a lot in the future 😊
I see that there are repeats in this song but is there a part B? I love this sound and would love to hear more of it.
There’s no B part. Check out Blue Highway’s version.
@@JimPankey ok thanks
