It's the double rainbow now! Great video!
Cool multi color fly, thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
I find value in the fly tying videos. Thanks.
Thanks! More coming!
Thanks for the video 👍
Great looking fly.
Thanks 👍
Thank you, another fly for the box, just getting into Euro Nymphing started late last year so I will claim the Newby status.
Nice! Good luck with your Euro Nymphing journey!
I have used these for many years. The video was fun and helpful.
:)
Nice, i've never seen anyone double up the lead free wire like that. Nice tip.
Yeah... just something I developed one day.
I really like that fly. I’ll definitely try it! Thanks for the video!
great video.
Well I came here to watch the latest video... And now finding out you had a squirmy one just on time as I got a bunch of material yesterday. Thanks for sharing!
You're welcome! Glad you're enjoying the channel.
I love the way you explain the way you tie the flys looking forward to tying my own flys
Thank you! I'm glad you're enjoying!
Effective fly. Nice tie too!
Thanks!
Love fishing these type of nymphs. Really great for pocket water! Haven't used a "Rainbow" bead yet...
I probably use more rainbow beads than I should 😂 I really like them.
Another great video! Now I'm gonna have to tie up a bunch of these!
Sweet! Good luck!
Awesome video, really awesome choice and great job.
Thanks!
Great Channel! I am really learning a lot from all of your videos.
That's great! That's why the channel is here! :)
I don't tie my flies but I enjoy watching the videos, it's good nowing how there made.
😀
I’m looking forward to the fly selection video.
Me too! I wrote the outline for it last week. I want some more fly tying videos out before I record it though.
Thanks for the nymphing series and the tying videos. Continue with more on Euro Nymphing. I've learn a lot
Definitely more coming in the series!
Simple and effective as always, thanks.
Thanks!
I enjoy watching your videos. They are very helpful to learning to fly fish. Going to try euro nymph fishing this year. I tie my own flies so the tying videos are very helpful a log with informational. Thanks
Awesome! Good luck with your Euro Nymphing journey!
Nice easy fly to tie
My favorite kind of flies :)
I will give the rainbow bead a try, great video
Yeah... I definitely like the rainbow beads.. I might use them a bit too much but they work.
It's nice the way the colour of the thread thread shows through the pearl tinsel 👌
Exactly!
Nice one !!
Thanks!
Very good
Thank you. The video’s are great
Glad you like them!
Went for Northeast Ohio Steelhead with your Stonefly Bombs. Fishing was tough due to recent rains but I did manage to hook and land a nice Steelhead. I wish I could attach a photo, it was a nice one. I can honestly say I felt at ease euro nymphing over using forward floating line. At one point I switched over to FF line and I realized I had more control with my nymphing setup of level line, sighter and tippet and of course your flies. Thanks for all your videos on euro nymphing and explaining how to fish the gear.
Sweet! Send me the picture on Instagram! Congrats!
@@WhiteDogTrailCompany Just did
Well what can I say 🤷 except keep it coming.
I am loving ❤ these and the Czech 🇨🇿 nymph sessions.
Well done.
Craig
Thank you! :)
I would love to see more fly tying videos with soft hackle flies! Thanks for another great video Brian!
YES! I definitely plan to do some... But I need some practice with them first :)
Great video
Thanks!
Great video!
Thanks Maya! You look like you've had fun on the slopes this winter!
I love this fly and fish it for steelhead also. Nice video.
Yes! Great idea! I have not used it for steelies yet.
Love the rainbow bead head. Keep up the nice work and fish on.
Thanks, will do!
Another great one! Love the rainbow warrior! Just caught my personal best this past weekend on one as well! A nice fly to tie next would be a frenchie or another nymph ? Egg pattern 😬
Congrats on the PB! I have a frenchie on the channel from several years ago and actually my first fly tying video I ever did was a glo bug but that was a really rough video from a long time ago 😂
@@WhiteDogTrailCompany lol! Maybe fly that’s a special one for you 🤔
Great vid and content on this channel!
Thank you! 🙂
VERY NICE, WILL TRY IT
Cool... Good luck!
Great video I have been a subscriber for a while .I have caught fish on all your patterns sexi stone fly is like awesome.ive seen these flies on other channels but yours is much better by far
Yeah! Sexi Stone is a GREAT fly! That fly catches me more big fish than all other flies combined!
Looks like yet another deadly fly to use when you need a weighted flashy bug to grab a trouts interest really fast. Good to use these weighted flies in a fast run that has pockets/ boulders where trout lie just off of the fast water. They’ll strike out of instinct and this will grab its eye quickly. Thanks for sharing this fly with us. Yet another must have fly in the fly box !
Yes!!! Definitely agree!
Great effective fly
Yes it is!
Thank you for these videos.. it’s nice to learn from fellow upstate fisherman!
Nice! I love Upstate NY. I lived in Maryland for 5 years and coming back home to NY really made me realize what we have here!
Love your videos! Please keep the fly tying and Euro Nymphing stuff coming.
Definitely more coming with both!!!
One of my go to Flies , Great Helpful Video , Thanks, keep them coming 👍
Will do! Thanks!
Really digging that White Dog hoodie.
When I can get a Merch store running I may provide a few options for hoodies. My whole family has them and we absolutely love them! We are seriously in them all the time!
Love to see you fish the flies you tie. Easy fly to tie
I don't have time to tie any flies I won't use 😂😂😂
I would like to see the Pheasant Tail if you haven’t done that one yet. Thanks and keep up the great work.
Definitely! I have a frenchie in my videos already but not a straight PT.
I love your videos and I’ve watched them several times. I’ve learned from them as well as the competitive anglers out there. This is a great pattern and I love the rainbow bead on it. Keep making the videos. Thanks
Thank you so much! People like Lance Egan, Devin Olsen and George Daniel are kind of my heroes so I really appreciate that!
I like the Rainbow Warrior. Thanks for another great video. I went trout fishing down in central Kentucky and euro nymph and caught 13 rainbows. I saw the sighter as well as felt the takes. Getting to like euro nymphing.
That's awesome! Congrats!
I like it!! I’ll certainly try the Rainbow Warrior in the stained Chauga river soon! Your version of Walt’s worm works well, and I’m sure the colorful rainbow will work well!
Thanks Brian
Sweet! Good luck!
Great fly tying video. I’ll definitely ty this one!! Can’t wait for the advance Euro Nymphing videos to come out!
Good luck! Definitely more advanced videos coming.
Thanks for sharing. I like how you give scenarios where you would use the different patterns. I’d like videos where you share those little nuggets of fly fishing wisdom. I’m just getting started, and I need all the help I can get.
I am definitely the kind of person that wants people to know why I do certain things. Those little nuggets are all over my videos :) I'm glad you're picking up on them!
Great tie! Keep all those great nymph patterns coming!🙏🏻🇺🇸
Thank You! 🙏
Nice pattern, I'm tying up some this weekend!!
I actually have to tie some too...
@@WhiteDogTrailCompany The tinsel material is slippery!!
Awesome tie! Thanks for the instructions
Thanks!
Nice looking fly thank for sharing
Thanks!
I have used a couple of rainbow beads following your advice and fished for Grayling here in Devon, UK.
Nice!!! I hope they work for you!
Great video. Love the euro series. Would be cool to see how you make leaders.
That's a good idea! I go through my leader and micro leader formula but don't actually tie them on camera. I need to refresh my leaders this spring so thanks for the idea. I'll try to film it!
@@WhiteDogTrailCompany It would be a great video to see how you make your leaders. Formula is one thing the process I feel would be just as helpful. I have never made a leader and I would find it very valuable! Thanks for the great videos
Gonna give them a try on the vice. Euronymph jig flies I prefer tying.
Me too!
Great fly caught a big rainbow on it just the other day in fast water as a dropper with the heavier point fly
Nice!
I like this fly a lot ! I’ll be tying up a bunch ! As a nympher you know how important it is getting down with heavy flies! Love the wire wraps ,use them in most of my point flies and makes a tremendous difference!! Nice work Whitedog👏
Thanks man and thanks for the continued support :)
Great video! Really enjoy tying this one! Keep them coming! Really like your fly tying videos keep them coming!
Thanks, will do!
As always another great video.and a good pattern.thanks for sharing
Thank you!
Hi, really good fly that works well on our Steelheads here in Taupo NZ. The pattern was named after the ship the Rainbow Warrior that was blown up by the French in Auckland Harbour in July 1985. As you mentioned, the flash certainly attracts the Rainbows! Lovely tying instructions. Cheers mate. Harera
I've never used it for steelhead but it definitely looks like a steelhead fly!
Great vid. I am always looking for guide style patterns that are easy to tie in multiple sizes and weights. Please keep up with nymphing videos.
Thank you! Will do!
Nice fly!! Looks like a real killer for an attractor pattern. Have you ever done a cased caddis pattern? Thanks for your videos and sharing your information on fly fishing.
Thanks! I have not done a cased caddis! My wife actually love caddis because they make their own homes... she's fascinated with them.
Nice job on the rainbow warrior.
Learning a lot from you videos.
Keep up the good work!
Thanks! I'm glad you're learning!
Congrats on winning the Rainbow Warriors! I got your email and will have your prize package out this week!
Heads up you can get that pearl type of material in East Basket stuffing for Cheap. I use it on my Musky flies along with clear threads of it.
Craft store for the win! 😂 I get all of my foam for tying from craft stores as well.
@@WhiteDogTrailCompany love your vids, keep them coming.
Great video! Thanks for the tie and letting us know how you use the fly is very appreciated. Love this entire series
Thanks!
Another great video, I’m new to fly tying. Learning and practicing while following along. Thanks.
Sweet! Hope you enjoy it! Not overdoing proportions is one of the first big things to overcome.
Great tutorial! I fish alot of stained water in Wisconsin and Upper Michigan, would like to see specific flies youblike for stained water.
Pink Squirmy!!!! That is my go to "fly" for stained\high water! They just can't help themselves and the big fish LOVE them!!!! I've linked my fly tying playlist here... it is in that playlist. ua-cam.com/play/PLuLwf7ym7i7ZKJSrh7WP-pftvhmwIytMK.html
Nice tutorial! I appreciate telling us how you fish it. Have not tied any rainbow warriors but you got me convinced to tie some up for the box before I hit the water later in the month.
They're different than most flies in my box because they're so flashy... Definitely a good fly to have in your box.
Looks like a deadly winter fly. Do you put some uv glue over the flash body material to help the durability with trout teeth?
I have not done that but that's a great idea!!! I may try that out!
Great fly and info when and how to fish it
Thank you!
Love your work do y’all do euro nymphing trips
Thanks! Yes we do. If you're interested you can visit our website (whitedogoutdoors.com) and fill out our "book now" form.
More advancedeuro nymph vids!
Definitely more coming!
Is there a reason you don't use lead free wire? I know it is not as heavy, but a small price to pay for a more environmentally friendly fly. Thanks for all the great videos.
I've tried other wires and they just don't work well. I even tried tungsten but they were so thin they didn't add weight.
Yep, another fine video. I’m looking forward to learning to tie my own. Doing the research now to find a reasonably priced decent quality vice to start. I’ll take any suggestions and look into them. I’ll keep watching and learning. Thanks and please continue.
I use a Dan-vice. I would recommend it to any new tyer. I tie everything from large streamers to size 22 dry flies in it. They are moderately priced as well.
@@jacobmccoy2279 Thanks, Jacob. I’ll be sure to look that one up. Someone also suggested the Renzetti Traveler. I appreciate your response and suggestion.
My vice is the Renzetti Traveler and I love it! When I started tying over 20 years ago I had a really cheap vice and they'll work to get started.
@@WhiteDogTrailCompanyThat’s definitely one that I am considering as well. Sooooo many choices and options!
This is one of my favorite Euro flies. Just curious- Have you ever tried using a lead substitute in your weighted nymphs? Thanks again for the excellent videos.
I have tried lead substitutes and didn't like them. Even tried tungsten but it was so thin it didn't add weight. I found the other substitutes don't add enough weight for the size so it just didn't make sense. You can try adding some small tungsten beads in addition if you don't want to use lead.
I bet a bigger, beefier version would be good for salmon.. Maybe some orange or other bright material.
Give it a whirl when you make it up here!! :)
looks good ! would you use it for trout in the winter months? .
Yes... I would use it all year.
Great content. My question is what is the most common hook size you use? I've been using 10-14 wondering if I should use more like 12-16 or maybe even 18 more. Thanks
Kinda depends. I would first recommend seeing what size nymphs you have in your rivers. Go flip some rocks and see what you see and match size. Having said that, my typical nymph size is 14 or 16 for standard nymphs. Perdigons and other droppers I might go 16, 18 or 20. Stoneflies are obviously bigger... I think I use a long shank size 10 for them.
Ok to use normal bead heads vice slotted when using jig hooks? What benefit do we enjoy when using slotted beads?
Slotted beads are used with jig hooks because they lay in a better position on the hook. However, when using lead wraps like I do you can get away with a regular bead by sliding the lead up into the bead to hold it in place. If I wasn't using lead I would want to use a slotted bead.
@@WhiteDogTrailCompany thank you for the clarification. Helps in affording me added flexibility. Keep ‘em coming, very educational.
why do you like jig style hooks or these flies?
The big reason I like jig style hooks is that they have a better hookup ratio! A barbless jig hook penetrates easily. I lose way more fish with a standard nymph hook. Also the jig hooks ride with the hook point up. You tend to snag bottom a little less that way.
Do you use the Rainbow Warrior as a point or dropper?
Either. It depends on the type of water and if I need a heavier fly to get down or not. A lot of times I'll use my Sexi Stonefly Bomb to get down in faster or deeper water and in that case I'll put the Warrior on the dropper. But in normal flow conditions the Warrior could go on either the point or the dropper.
How to buy value fly fishing equipment, or best value items.
Good idea for a video! Thanks!
How about micro zonkers
Great idea!!!
