I stumbled on this video by pure chance. I love Brian's work and had the pleasure of recording at his studio ten years ago, when it was called Engine. It was interesting watching him use the same plugins I have but in slightly different ways. Then he brought up the song "Funny" and I really had to laugh cuz I recorded a live performance of that same song back when they went by Grimms & BlAcknight! It was like this video was custom tailored for me. An engineer in my city whose work I admire showing me how to use my own plugins to improve a song I'd worked on. Wild.
Also a quick note, Brian says "1272" but the plugin he's using is a 1290. That's because the 1290 is the MIC preamp section of the 1073 and the 1272 is the LINE amp that does have many of the same parts as the 1290, just has less gain.. So the UAD model is labelled as a Neve 1290 but it does the same thing generally speaking as the Neve 1272.
As an Italian who has a rural studio in the Italian countryside, I feel embarrassed by that studio's scratchy EQ. Lol. Hope you had a great time nonetheless
Maravillosa forma de darle actitud a la Snare. Muchos hoy lo hacen con los sampler, pero este video logra la característica de hacerlo tu mismo. Con Experimentación y trabajo. Excelente video...…
Great video! His delivery is perfect. More of him explaining stuff please
What a beautiful snare drum sound - rich, warm and deep... Lovely!
