I adore Valhalla. It’s such a theatrical experience. The giants forest section is absolutely blood pumping. And the snow Woolf scene is awe inspiring. The mass of pyro technics. God, I could gush all day.
Oh man where to start. I was too small for the Revolution but was let on anyway because I was with my Grandad. It was so terrifying I screamed like Ned Flanders at the 'return journey' announcement. I've been stuck in the Ghost train many times. I was on the Grand National when the last set of brakes failed going back in to the station, sending us up the lift hill for go 2 a meter behind the other trains. Caught us at the top and we watched the other trains go round from the peak :D Got a sheet of As and Bs as a shut up lol I was made up. Rode it [error] times since! We won tickets to the drive in cinema on the front on Rock FM showing Haloween H20 and it was so windy they abandoned after hours (cranes and a big sheet... ... Blackpool like right on the bloody front smh oh and autumn obviously) anyway they stuck a fork in it and kept the PB open for an extra hour. Hardy coasters at BPB! Much fun was had (and we were running out of weed!) Fun fact - I did press ups to get in passage of Terror for free and my nan used to make the faces for the mice on the wild mouse (like back in the day years ago, she ended up going quite mad and dying.) Blackpool rock!
Another quality “Did you know” vid chaps . Loved this one , this is our local park since Camelot closed 😢. We need to get back up there this year , not been since the press day so can’t wait back on Icon . Never mind part 2 , how abut part 3 and 4 . 😉👍🏼
Apparently it’s because they somehow lost the original audio and couldn’t get it back, so they just put some other audio in lol, that’s what the guy at the exit told us once haha
Also some of the big ones tressles and supports near pleasure beach train stain came from southampton. Great upload by the way. I'm still waiting to hook up with you guys. Please contact me for a meet up day out. I'm game lol.
The Flying Machines was never moved. The entire PB site was on sand in the early days, and both the park and promenade were built on top of it. When the Flying Machines had its motor on display, you could see it sitting on the sand.
The years all merge together now, but as I recall the drop and turnaround on the Big One were changed at different times, over different closed seasons?
I was sure that the big ones drop was altered at the end of the 96' season and the turn around at the end of the 97' season, because after the drop was changed it kept stalling on the return leg, is there any proof that it was all done in the same season?
@@masterknife8423 Always thought they could keep the support of the big one but put new B&M or Mack track on top of it. Almost like RMCing a steel coaster
I'm going to challenge your statement that the big one cant be operated on 3 trains when open to the public. Whilst it's true that it doesn't now, due to the 3 trains having differing wheel configurations so they can be swapped out to suit the weather forecast for each day, when it first opened it would regularly operate a 3 car service.
What are your thoughts on the current state of the park? Personally I believe that the park needs a face lift and need a large investment to make the park look better. Toilets are horrible. Halal meat is like all they sell. And a lot of the rides are outdated and boring especially for the price it costs to go. The park has so much potential.
Olly341 The owners have invested plenty since 2009, they’ve made huge cosmetic changes around the park to improve its appearance, invested in refurbishing rides or building new rides. The recession nearly closed them down so they’re not in a bad place considering...
Awesome editing mate, it was an absolute pleasure to work on this with you and I’m already getting some facts wrote down for part 2 😉
I’m obsessed with Blackpool pb
Any reason why the Big one can no longer run 3 trains?
I'm a 7 year old and I went on big one and I enjoyed it
Great video guys! The facts were very interesting! :)
@@ScrewyLoops you know it man! I'm happy to help whenever :)
Can you both do one on Thorpe park, that would be amazing!

I managed to grab a hand full of snow on the way by. It’s actual snow.
Brilliant video, you can tell a lot of effort was put in to this. Bring on part 2 😁👍
Keep these coming. Let's have lightwater valley, Oakwood, Thorpe, maybe even Southport pleasureland and flamingo
Southports one would just be sad 😞
Please can you do a "did you know?" Video on my house please. It would be very interesting hearing facts about where I live.

Very impressive, such a good quality video
Woah I diddnt know the big one was made here in Bolton! My dad used to work at Watson steel too, how cool!
Ask no questions They did the track for the Revolution too 😀
Brilliant video guys!
This was great guys!
Nothing to do w/ the video, but does anyone else think a heartline roll is the most satisfying thing ever?
Visually, yes! 🔥 Actually riding through them, not so much 🤣 I'm not the biggest fan of hangtime
@@ScrewyLoops yeah I meant visually I agree 😂
Next big coaster channel! :)
BACKSEAT BLACKOUT anytime fam 😀
Love these facts!
Thank you! ☺️👍
Melissa Race We loved being part of this 😀
I’m sorry but the Alice Wonderland ride is boarder line creepy, the characters models look terrifying 😅

Hi from Georgia, USA! Thank you for another great video guys😊.
Interesting facts guys 👍👍👍
Cheers buddy! 🙂👍
This is like my dream park.i haven't been but I might be next year.
Cobra's Trains I’m going in a few days with my class. And I’ve not been since I was 4. I’m terrified because I don’t go to theme parks...
Cobra's Trains gonna be honest I think Alton towers is better
Loved this guys!
Well that explains why I nearly fell off Derby racer. My all time favourite park.
Amazing video
amazing, part 2 for defo
Lol everyone in my class just calls the Big One ‘Pepsi Max’
ThatOneLucario It’s universally known as “The Pepsi Max” still

Oh Hi me, Front Row Icon 9.59 :D
7:36 they were doing ride POVs as far back as the 1920s
That's nuts to think actually! 😯
5:53 you could have warned us that there is spoiler coming :)))
Once I rode Alice in wonderland, I wasn’t the same again. That thing is horrifying and scarred me for life 😂
At 10:53 I thought you were referring to that old Specsavers advert on Infusion, then I realised it was just me..

I recall it being ran on 3 train service, and you can watch it being ran on 3 trains on the 6 part documentary of the park that was released yonks ago
Good video
Thank you :)

Richard Williams They were changed winter 96
I think it’s time for me to rewatch that 90s six-part BBC BPB documentary for the 40th time 🙄
Kat Louvain I’ve been doing the same lately lol
Please do Chessington World of Adventures and Thorpe Park
there you go guys 400,,part 2 i await lol
J DUBW We’ll eventually get round to it
still on the list for a visist from the Netherlands

Another great fact file vlog
We need part 2 asap pls 😂
can we get a Thorpe park did u now pls
When Watson steel fabricated the big one they test built it in sections at Middlebrook Park Bolton. Where Bolton Wanders stadium is now.
Question what happend to the fun house
Well done me for sitting on the outside of Darby racer
Intense! 👌
My great uncle worked on the big one so I'm basically related to the big one XD
Holly James sameeee and Valhalla
🔥🔥🔥
im just trying to understand how Darren browns ghost train cost more than icon.
U forefoot one...Wallace and from it is the best ride there
Are you sure the Flying Planes are still there?
@@ScrewyLoops Brilliant. I only live down the road (literally) but I heard they'd gone!
brant nuttall There’s no intention to remove them
Thorpe Park with Jack Silkstone?
Cant belivd u knew about rocking on derby racer
Arh The Mad Mouse. Happy days
when I went Valhalla had 10 boats, why did it drop so much?
Ride Madness Cost cuts
Imagine them removing the big one in 20 years or so and replacing it with a b and m hyper :D
Kinda wish they could do that now. As iconic as the Big One is I think a new hyper coaster should take it's place
@@masterknife8423 Always thought they could keep the support of the big one but put new B&M or Mack track on top of it. Almost like RMCing a steel coaster
It'll never happen and wouldn't be financially suitable. It's still a brilliant ride and has character which b&m hypers don't have!
Would like to see one for Thorpe:)

Where even is derby racer?
To the right of Valhalla 🙂👍
2:27 Oh wait this is interesting, why can't they operate 3 trains at once?
i actualy thought that the big one was made by vakoma
Arrow and Vekoma do have a lot of history together 👍
The grand national is one of the sketchyest rides I've ever been on
I love it
Why can’t big one run on 3 trains while open to the public?
Shay Rynn They’ve not run it on 3 since 2001, there’s nobody left in the park who is trained to run three.
Pleasure Beach Experience what training dose it require
Shay Rynn Full staff training, three trains is completely different to two on the Big One, it has a complex computer system known for having issue.
I feel like infusion gets a lot of hate
