I taped over Police Academy 3 with this documentary many years ago to my dads dismay, it brings me so much nostalgia to watch it again after so many years, thanks for sharing!
Nice to see some of Blackpool way back in the 90s. From Pepsi Max to the Big one has had its names over the years...in 2021-22 winter parts was renewed to the ride to make it more smother ride..
I love and I mean love Blackpool, my heart is there. I went there as a kid, went there as a teenager, clubbing, seen parts of Blackpool as an older person that I didn't see as a kid like bad parts..opened my eyes lol but that's part of life. I defend Blackpool and will always go back. Only thing that I don't agree with is the charging of people going into pleasure beach when they don't or wont want to go on rides, think that's unfair.but love pleasure beach personally...revolution is somat I always go on..first time about 7 yr old but went on with my brother for courage and now I just do the same with other people I go with....I even did a presentation on Pepsi Max/The big one. I remember Ross Kemp going on it and I shook his hand haha..ah memories but ICON will soon be here..(thanks for the vid x)
Think about it though, the charge keeps out people who are only there to cause mischief and be a nuisance. The charge ensures safety and allows the park to advance and appeal to families. Yes, some people like yourself who just like to wander around, would benefit from free entry, but if that system were still in effect, the park wouldn't be able to invest so heavily on new attractions like ICON. The park wouldn't look as fresh and clean as it does now, as all the money would go towards repairing the scenery and theming in the park after it has been vandalised by non-riders and disrespectful people. Personally, the charge makes the park better. Pleasure Beach would not be the park it is today if it wasn't for the small charge!
My only wish would have been an inversion to help match the terror of that lift hill. That view of open ocean when you come over the crest is unbelievable but that really is literally the high point, it’s pretty boring after that
The big one belongs at somewhere like Blackpool pleasure beach a seafront amusement Style park otherwise it has to be in the United States of America. John Wardley had it absolutely spot on when you try and build the biggest the highest the fastest you quickly wind up with quite a boring ride after a number of years is quickly surpassed by something else.
@@Deltic55-mw4bo I've ridden it many, many times. I'll be riding the new tallest coaster (in the UK) next month too. The first drop is really good but then it does nothing. They were tryna emulate Magnum XL 200 but it doesn't have the airtime focused layout that Magnum XL 200 has...Pretty bad profiling probs because pleasure beach is so limited in space so that dictated the layout.

Bad boys inc opened it I was there that day
All the other parks (except Southend) charge. Why would you go there if you had no intention of riding. Keeps out the trouble makers
@@peskybee22 It's a fucking rip off they have their own security (hobby bobby's) to deal with vandals!!!
@@themeparkenthusiast169 when I was younger my family was unable to go because of it my parents wouldn’t go on rides but still had to pay
The banter from the narrator is hilarious!!!
I wonder where the people in this video are now.

had 4 days in Blackpool last week, stayed at the Big Blue,
Just googled Dave Dutton the commentator...he's on Corrie at the moment lol he was the weatherfield hospitals' DJ haha
is that fred dibnah?
I liked Geoffrey mr funshine
Such a shame the ride feels so tame, except for the first drop on the back row of course, and the tunnel
When shes running well though, its a hell of an experience
When was this recorded, 1955?

good first drop then it's a monorail
Mate, if you think its a monorail, you've never ridden it. You're just copying what other people say.
Lmao it's a monorail

Happy Belated 25th birthday Pepsi
@Sam Smethurst you would have thought it would have been a big promotional opportunity, its not been the same since geoffrey thompson died
You spelt roller wrong
I remember the PB committed arson, burning down the fun house so they could build this.
Lol!
Er.... It's not in the location of the fun house, that's Valhalla which was in 2000
Propaganda at its finest!
Utterly nonsense
"The Big One" was just the name of the first drop. It lost it's Pepsi sponsorship in 2011.
Stop bloody screaming
It isn't the tallest in the world
This was filmed in 1994...
