Dental Floss Gathering Stitches How To Sewing Tutorial

Hi Everyone, my name is Samantha and welcome to my channel: Sewing in Switzerland.
I’m taking it easy and winding up to the holiday season at a slow pace so I thought it would be nice to focus the next 6 weeks or so on honing some new skills with a few skills shares and sew-alongs. If you have any requests for anything, do feel free to reach out.
This video looks at making gathers on heavier weight fabrics or harder to yield fabrics such as velvets, taffetas, denim etc.
Using dental floss (yes, really!!) we will make our gathers! All you need is your sewing machine and a pack of dental floss!!

It's mind-blowing to me to think about how fast sewing machines are. I've never owned one and stitch all of my projects by hand. I'm hoping to get something soon, it's just incredible how fast they can go.

Thanks Samantha, this is a great tutorial. I've heard of this method but I've never seen it executed, I will definitely be giving it a try.......is there any reason why it wouldn't work on cotton poplin. Thanks 😊
