I've been researching this topic for 2 weeks now and your video managed to summarise everything in 8 minutes. Thank you.
I was about to buy a Weebill s with the hopes of shooting vertically before watching this. Thanks for the advice!
The rsc2 specifically folds out which you missed here and that is what makes it a great gimbal for portrait mode
For real smh 🤦🏻🤦🏻
You can’t then just put it on the table while you wipe your eyebrow because it’s sooo front heavy! Having to give it to a client to hold while I do something for a second isn’t user friendly 😭! The other alternative is to snap the whole thing back to a normal gimbal, then have to snap it back
@@kylesanimphotographyif you need two hands to wipe an eyebrow the gimbal is the least of your worries 😂
Was just about to say this about the rsc2
This video deserves a thumbs up! Didn’t find any other video even remotely close 🙏
Thank you! You got yourself a subscriber.
Lordy, every once in awhile UA-cam hits me with the most absolute top choice recommended video after one search query and THIS WAS IT. Just amazing! Thank you! Good pace and nice editing to top it off with the most valuable info!
You are more than welcome my friend, thank you for your comment 🙌
This is EXACTLY what I was looking for too
This is exactly what I needed! Watched this earlier, got the Weebill S, then I now realize it can’t balance for vertical mode with an a7siii (& overall is too flimsy to support the weight)
Did u ever get it shooting in vertical? I have one but not sure if I should buy L bracket and try
@@MRCALIEMS im in the same wagon, I juts put counterweights (250g in my case) under the bracket to balance a a7IV with cage and a FE 50mm
The RSC 2 will balance perfectly with an L-bracket (not cage) and a small counterweight on the base plate - tested with an a7 IV 16-35 F4 so tinker a little and you will get a perfect balance. Was going to shell out for an RS3 Pro until I tried, saved me the upgrade
hey, did you buy the original counterweights? im in the same situation like you, thanks for the help
Link to the l bracket you used?
@@AX122 smallrig a7iii L-bracket
L bracket is a good shout - something I don’t have on hand to test but it makes sense that it would work a bit better. Might struggle with a heavier lens like the sigma 24-70 though
@@ChrisSpice I think you didn't activate the portrait mode correctly on the RSC2, first you have to activate briefcase mode and then portrait mode so the motors get on the correct position.
Without having had any experience of those gimbals, I'd say the RSC2 looks the best for portait mode. It wouldn't bother me holding it the way you are forced to when doing that. And if I am filming a house, I want to be able to switch over and back quickly, without having to take the camera off etc.
Useful video thanks! I got the RSC2 in the end. Buying a cage so I can shoot portrait and I hope it isn't too top heavy with my tamron 28-75mm lens.
@Chris Spice I think you didn't activate the portrait mode correctly on the RSC2, first you have to activate briefcase mode and then portrait mode so the motors get on the correct position.
Thanks for your breakdown mate 🙌🏼
My goodness, this video is exactly what I needed! Thank you so much!
How are you shooting vertical video? Building a rig, using a gimbal or just ignoring vertical and going landscape all the way?
DJI and Smallrig have a vertical mount adapter for dji rs line. Ends up just like the moza. Unfortunately, it's out of stock nearly everywhere you look.
But how do you do portrait mode + pov mode so you can do the cool twist shots??
It is even more convenient to use the aircross 3 in the folded position with your forearm resting on a tripod screwed into the thread at 45 degrees.
And to access the joystick just slightly reduce the folding angle or move the handle to a small angle relative to the axis lever and work that way. This will allow you not to get tired and forget about the usual grip because of its archaic nature)
managed to get my weebill s working with a A7III 85mm 1.8 or 16mm 1.4 Sigma (Croplens) etc. (but not with a heavy duty lens) and counterweights... works like a charm...
lol that’s my exact setup was looking for a gimbal for that
Where did u get counterweights at?
@@MRCALIEMS i had an old steadycam laying around and used it's weights to balance it and bolted it to the plate. a little diy but it worked pretty fine. 😅
@@Forkapictur genius🤣
With the moza can you go to portrait mode with what's included with the gimbal or do you have to buy extra attachments?
You forgot about rsc2 suitcase mode which is i think the best.
For the DJI RS for example, Is it better to shoot vertically with the vertical mount accessory or by putting the camera vertically on the baseplate with a cage/L-Bracket?
you're supposed to fold the rsc2 for portraight mode to not be like you said
Why would you compare a much more dated Weebill S to an RS3 Pro? Weebill 3 would have been a better option, and even the Weebill 2 has far more powerful motors, and the display that helps the user visually see the motor responses to the users movements. You can see the motors power jump for any user induced motion. This aids in creating the best overall smoothness in every axis and payload supported. Weebill S is no match for the W2, or W3. This is like comparing an A7 original camera body to an A7IV...
I’m looking for W3 comparison too. But maybe he doesn’t own one.
Put the lens side down while mounting the Camera vertically, the cg of the Camera will come down
you can use weebill s in vertical mode m8 all you have to do is to know how :)
Any tips for aircross 3 gimbal - how to make it as stable as possible... as i remember you said not to use autotune?
Thank you for this video :)
thank you so much Bro
Have you tried counter weights on the Weebill S? I have this gimbal with a hefty sized Canon 80D, and bought counter weights to screw in the front side.
Did u get the wee bill s shooting? Ask where did u get counterweight
R sc2 folds and with briefcase mode is way better for vertical / portrait
I need assistance starting up mine. Can’t seem to get it
Very good video my friend, in greece the aircross 3 cost 360€ and zhiyun webbil S 300€ on discounts, which one do you recommend?
Thank you so much! Question, so you don't need to connect the cables for it to work? Can you record without connecting the HDMI cables? Thanks
what is the manfrotto plate that you use?
what about the Zhiyun Crane 3S? do you think it will work?
hello. Which one has the best and most reliable mounting system? I have a webill S and the screws tend to unscrew when using it as my dlsr+lens is quite heavy (almost 2kgs).
with the RSC2 if you fold it forwards using the clip by the buttons its no longer pointing upwards
Completely forgot about this feature and it’s blown my mind 😂 I unfortunately can’t test it now, are there any videos that show this working?
@@ChrisSpicehonestly the feature is nice but absolutely kills my arm after 10 mins so looking for a solution.
What cage did you use for the weebill S?
How can weebil 3 be?
Hi Chris, on Aircross 3 when you switch from landscape to portrait, do you need to rebalance the gimbal?
Yeah you do
@@ChrisSpice After years of going crazy on the vertical with cameras, I am liking the iPhone 13 on the Dji Osmo Mobile 4, with a click i switch from vertical to horizontal. I was hoping for this on the Ronin RS3 but... also mini 3 have this feature.
i just bought the rsc2 with a smallrig baseplate and smallrig L-bracket, using a7iii and 24mm gm or sigma 85 1.4, so kinda lightweight - i hope for the best
how did that work out? any update?
@@jm_20brz i will keep the gimbal and not return it. you can achieve perfect balance with both lenses. especially with a longer lense you could never produce that stable shots that i now can, i use the joystick a lot with the 85mm. only problems i encountered was with follow focus attached, that whole gimbal set up worked worse in vertical mode, still usable but more sensitive.
id say go for the rsc2 instead of more expensive, this thing gets the job done and feels very worthy. even in vertical mode light primes are np, i dont even have counterweights.
Hi sir dji ronin rs 3 pro is best for verticale mode if I purchase L type plate
Yeah if you have the Rs 3 pro or can afford it then it’s gonna take most cameras in vertical mode with no problem, but Aircross is cheaper and has a dedicated portrait mode so for the average person it’s more efficient
