@@MarcellJjr after a year I have to say that dji is much better than weebil in many innovations. I sold the webbill and bought the CRANE 2s. The dji and the crane 2s are much stronger motors and much better construction quality and materials than the weebill.
I have weebill S and very happy with it, very smooth but i always shoot with ibis and lens optical stabilization. My question, is RS3 so much better or should i stick with weebill S ? i like the weebill S so much i was thinking buying another one just for back up cause is so cheap, RS3 is twice the price of weebill S in europe.
the RS# is much better, but at the same time, it just depends on what you do, for me, it's not worth it, because i'm just a hobbyist, i'm not a pro or even an amature really, but i want to just screw around with random video footage and try different stuff, for me a cheaper gimbal is 100% just fine, however if you are using a gimbal to generate money like on a professional job, probably the RS3 will be much better, but i will not make any money from what i am doing with a gimbal so i can just buy cheaper ones and be happy (even though i want an rs3 lol)
@@benfilming You should only upgrade if you want the auto lock function and you need a more powerful gimbal to support a heavier camera. otherwise I would stick to the Weebill S.

The Weebill 3 is OBJECTIVELY better than the RS3.. although anything can be subjectively better. That light and price point is a big deal. The rs3 does not come with a briefcase handle in its base package ( a big bummer ), the weebill 3 has an adjustable handle, plus its load capacity is higher, built-in mic ( not the best though but at least it's got it ).
The weebill 3 does not come with the backhandle in the standard model. The built in mic is worse than the on your camera. You can’t balance an S1H on the weebill 3. You can do that on the RS3.
@@PeterMakholm the RS3 has a higher center of gravity which make it very heavy on top and front. The weebill 3 has the center of gravity at the bottom which make it for more pleasant and the rest wrist is very effective. The fill light is very important if you don’t want to set a complex lighting system attached tp your gimbal. The weebill 3 is very easy to balance. However i agree the mic is not good. This is to my opinion the point to improve. The idea is right as it is complicated to set a zoom mic on a gimbal. They should put an replaceable mic so third party can propose higher quality mic stereo / mono compact enough for a gimbal. I would like as well the replaceable batteries but i think we won’t find that in any gimbal in a foreseeable future. The weebill S is the last i think. I would like to see the maker allowing battery service replacement at the minimum.
you're right...the battery hour is a plus point too in weebill 3, although the mic isn't that good depends on the noise surroundings. I'm getting the Weebill 3 myself as well the only downside I found is the "sling grip" would've been better if you could set it in the mid of grip just like it's previous few models. It won't be as smooth as RS3 but it won't be much noticeable I guess, I mean one can always stabilise the rest in post production. So yeah weebill 3 it is🥂.
Had the weebill s, its not that battered just broke on me out of the blue. Used it on a shoot and storing it for 1week, When I want to use motors doesn't work anymore. Switched to rs3 build quality is way better. But a bit heavier
I just returned my DJI because of balancing issues, I would rebalance the gimbal multiple times while on set, It was very frustrating, I will now give the Weebill 3 a shot.
I just got the weebil haven't open it yet. But what I like is the size. I think ronins are so manly and heavy. I need something a little light for a woman lol. Size and weight matter
I've had my Weebill S coming up three years now, and not once have I ever wished for an auto-locking feature. I just don't know why this is a thing :) I've also found every past DJI to feel lumpy and cumbersome in comparison to my Weebill S. So I hoped to be a Zhiyun fanboy and upgrade to the new 3. However I have to let handle/grip and monitor attachment capabilities be the deciding factor.
Does this Falcam F38 quick-release plate fit the original DJI plate? You also have Ulanzi's base plate to replace the original one, so you have the whole package. I wonder if Ulanzi's quick release arca swiss part will fit the arca swiss input in the DJI plate? If you know what I mean :) I own Ulanzi Claw release plate and it doesn't fit besides it is arca swiss, as well as my Smallrig cage wich also should fit that standard. I feel like DJI made it hard for users, to use other plates.
How can you tap the record bottom on the camera if you have it on a gimbal? or how to do it if you connect the camera to the gimbal by pc connection you won't be able to see the monitor, please any help will be appreciated, thanks
I normally just press record on the camera when I am shooting on a gimbal. I frame up my shot take a couple of steps back and then I press record and start shooting. There are some problems with connecting the gimbal with the camera where the screen goes black. This mostly happens if you also have a monitor hooked up to the camera. This is why I don't connect the gimbal to the camera unless I am shooting on the ring grip form tilta with my S1H on. I can have a monitor and be connected without the screen goes black.
@@PeterMakholm Thanks a lot, your videos are the best, appreciated-by the way have you try the RavenEye Image Transmitter in RS3?im waiting for your review to buy it
I switched from the Zhiyun Weebil S to the DJI RS3. I totally agree with your points. I do have to add that the DJI R Twist Grip is an amazing addition to the RS3. You get dual length adjustable side handles, a TON of mounting options, and the left handle turns into a sling/briefcase rear handle in seconds. I mount my monitor on the right handle. Beast of a setup. The DJI RS3 is smoother, far easier and faster to navigate menus. I love that it tells you graphically how well each axis is balanced, comes in super handy with zoom lenses so you know for sure when you need to adjust if you zoomed too much. The auto-locking is such a useful feature. I'll never go back to a gimbal without auto-locks.
@@PeterMakholm Sweet! I am excited about it. I got the side handle you suggest, too. I wish it came with a case since I don’t use all the stuff the combo comes with. I also hope the integrated Ulanzi QR plate will work with the new models.

Hi Peter, one week ago I got my Fuji Xh2s. I wanted to connect my weebill s with it as I did before with my XT4. It's not supported and the camera shows me only that there is a usb connection. What can I do? The camera is new on the market.
also having bigger motors is probably a plus to the DJI gimbal, the motors being bigger means they work less hard to stabilize the same weight the weebill motors do

Ordered RS3 Pro waiting for the delivery on Aug 9th... I thought it was gonna be available straight away after the announcement but that's not the case, it's being launched on the Aug 1st for consumers.
Yeah it’s the same one. I’m using the same follow focus and Raveneye that I used on my RSC2. The Raveneye even transmits the video signal to the gimbal screen, so I think it’s the same one. But maybe the focus motor might be stronger, but it looks the same and works fine.
It is easy to turn the DJI rs3 on and off because of the auto lock function. That you do not have on the weebill 3. And I would not turn it off between takes because I would have to manually lock the axis. And that is why the battery will last longer on the dji RS3. It makes more sense when you have tried to work with it.
I wouldn't say "stay away" but it seems pretty obvious that the RS3 stumps the Weebill 3. If this is JUST the RS3 then I'll eagerly await a comparison between the Zhiyun and theRS3 Pro!
Hi Peter i am thinking of getting a gimbal mainly travel videos on a a73 1635gm lens. I am currently eyeing on the weebill 2 due to the flip out screen which i could use it when i am filming myself. After watching this review i am debating between weebill 2 or rs3 any suggestion for me? Thanks
I own a Weebil S and since a few month also a RS2 (so, both the previous versions). The RS2 is far superior over the Weebil S in nearly every aspect. Regarding your desire to watch yourself while filming, most cameras do have a flip out screen. If not, a little monitor will solve this quickly. I learned (the hard way) in the meantime that RS2 and RS3 have become a global industry standard, with many third parties offering accessories for both consumers and pro-filmmakers. If only I had known earlier -:(
Hello. Thank you very much for your detailed comparaison. What about mic mount option on these 2 gimbals ? On the weebill S, there an accesorie to put on the side of the base and it allows the mic to move with the gimbal (particularly in underslung mode). Is there something similar for the RS3? Thanks again
Go look at YT channel "Momentum Productions" for his review on Weebill 3. Even his review on Weebill 2 was one of the best, and produced amazing footage even running with it. Every YT channel has it's own thing. Our company bought the RS2's for our use. 6 different shooters, and they all hated the RS2 compared to the Weebill 2. RSC2 was even worse they said. We'll be trying both the Weebill 3 and RS3 ourselves. That's the best way really since our payloads are not even close to a lot of YT reviewers may have.

It is worth someone to see it up close and hold it in their hand and only so he will understand and have measures of comparison whether it is with the RONIN or with the previous edition or with any model of each company.
I just ordered the weebill 3 while its on sale and found the dji after 🤦🏾♂going on my A6700. Did I make a mistake? A year later comment? Do you still have it or should I return?
I do have exactly the same question. I have the weebill S and am thinking of upgrading to DJI RS3
If you are pleased with the Weebill S I would just keep it. I still think it is an amazing gimbal
@@benfilming You should only upgrade if you want the auto lock function and you need a more powerful gimbal to support a heavier camera. otherwise I would stick to the Weebill S.
I definitively notice that you are being paid by DJI because you do not mention the light or the microphone and I notice that you are on the side of dji I would like the reviews to be neutral and not for the convenience of those who pay you
Hey. I am sorry to say it, but The microphone on the weebill 3 is useless. The quality is so bad. The light is a ok, but not something I use. I try to be a natural a possible but it is hard when a company makes a product that is way worse than their previous models. And no I am not paid by DJI. But I understand that it could look like it.
A super baaaaaaad comparison
We have the zhiyun crane 3 S and it never worked. What a waste of money. Their tech specialists were not in any way helpful. DJI has superior tech help, (we know because of how they support their drones) so I would trust that brand more.
Hey man! Really enjoy your reviews! I’d love to see a VS of Zhiyun image transmission vs raveneye system, especially the tracking features.. keep it up
Just ordered the RS3 Pro combo for my S1H. I noticed you're recording in Cine D, do you ever used V log?
No I always shoot in Cine D.
@@PeterMakholm Are you doing any color correction or color grading? What is your fee to shoot and edit a luxury home?
Yes I do color correction, but I have made a lut that I often use and then only make small adjustments. My fee for a full real estate video is $1500-$1700, that is normally one shoot day and one edit. @@neilseiffer
@@PeterMakholm Thanks Peter.
After watching this review can tell you are obviously being paid by DJI. You have given Weebill 3 very bad reviews. Be honest my friend.
Im so happy that i bought the RS3 Combo and see this video. I learn so much from this channel, this channel is n°1 for gimbal videos!
Thanks to the support mate.
Had the weebill s, its not that battered just broke on me out of the blue. Used it on a shoot and storing it for 1week, When I want to use motors doesn't work anymore.
Switched to rs3 build quality is way better. But a bit heavier
Yeah, build quality is top notch. I got the Pro Combo, and boy, it is well put together.
Weebil creators punching the air right now 😂
Yes.. unfortunately, but hopefully Zhiyun will strike back.
@@PeterMakholm of course they will. They see these videos, and you are one of the top 3 gimbal UA-cam creators. They’re listening 👂🏾
I just returned my DJI because of balancing issues, I would rebalance the gimbal multiple times while on set, It was very frustrating, I will now give the Weebill 3 a shot.
Probably the most bias comparison of these two gimbals I've seen so far...
DJI it is. Peter would you buy the combo for the RS3
Strangely enough I’m getting much more smoother shots on the WB3 than in your comparison… perhaps it’s my settings
It's not. We tested them both as well. We ordered more Weebill 3 units because the company, and 6 of our shooters preferred it over DJI.
กำลังจะซื้อ RS3 พอดีเลย
We are comparing a 300 dollar gimbal to a 550 dollar gimbal
I just got the weebil haven't open it yet. But what I like is the size. I think ronins are so manly and heavy. I need something a little light for a woman lol. Size and weight matter
Weebill A is what you should go for.
@@PeterMakholm what handle is that on the bottom of the weebill 3?
I think you might need more time working the Weebill 3 because I get buttery SMOOOTH Footage on mine Dude.
@@PeterMakholm Thanks a lot, your videos are the best, appreciated-by the way have you try the RavenEye Image Transmitter in RS3?im waiting for your review to buy it
1:53 "Nowhere to adjust the roll motor" I'm sorry, what? That makes no sense. Explanation please?
There are no left to right adjustments on the weebill 3 Roll motor. All roll motor adjustments has to be done on the baseplate.
@@PeterMakholm -_______- that's just...dumb. Why. Even my tiny little Crane M3 has that. LOL.
100% agree on that mate.
Excellent review. Just got the RS3 and I'm totally happy with its performance. Its a pro piece of kit and worth the money I spent on it.
Wrong weebill 3 holds more weight
Not sure what's up with this comparison. The real comparison is between the RS 3 pro vs Crane 3S.
You said you are comparing "standard" packages. But then you say the focus motor comes with the RS3, when that ONLY comes with the combo package.
LUMIX S5 not detected on Bluetooth on Weebill 3S any solution? Can’t use the recording button directly. Updated to 1.76 version on purchase
Is rs 3 support sigma 16mm lens, sony 50mm 1.8 normal, sony 35mm 1.8 normal and sony 24-105 with sony a7iii? Pls suggest.
Do you notice too much wiggle on the RS3? Or it being too sticky to move around? I had a RS2 Pro and wondering which one to go with.
Hi No, the RS3 IS smoother than the RS2. i do not have to tweak the settings on the RS3 to make it smooth.
@@PeterMakholm Sweet! I am excited about it. I got the side handle you suggest, too. I wish it came with a case since I don’t use all the stuff the combo comes with. I also hope the integrated Ulanzi QR plate will work with the new models.
I think you are the gimbal
How can you tap the record bottom on the camera if you have it on a gimbal and looking on a shinobi monitor down? or how to do it if you connect the camera to the gimbal by pc connection you won't be able to see the monitor, please any help will be appreciated, thanks, i'm waiting for my RS3 this week after many headache on the weebil LAb
Was this sponsored by dji?

What the chest, neck harness strap you use? I am looking for an additional support
Watched your sling video, thank you. (FOUND IT)
Seems there is almost no information on if the TransMount Image Transmitter AI is fully compatible with the ZHIYUN Weebill 3. I have the ZHIYUN Crane 2S with the TransMount AI and it is awesome except for the extreme weight. I need a lighter gimbal to fly on the Wiral Lite Cable Cam with the AI tracking.
Hi Peter, one week ago I got my Fuji Xh2s. I wanted to connect my weebill s with it as I did before with my XT4. It's not supported and the camera shows me only that there is a usb connection. What can I do? The camera is new on the market.
Yo are you from denmark?
Yeees mate.
@@PeterMakholm Jylland Sjælland eller fyn?
also having bigger motors is probably a plus to the DJI gimbal, the motors being bigger means they work less hard to stabilize the same weight the weebill motors do
Correct mate. The rs3 is super smooth.

Can you swap out RS3 plate with Falcam one or you need to mount Falcam on the top?
He said it was universal, so yeah, I think you can. Watch that part of the video again to confirm.

Thnx for answering all my questions i dit not know i had to the gimballs and what to look for.
you are on point. zhiyun do not listen to what Weebill users want.
I use weeble s a7s3 because I can change my batteries at long events
is it possible if you have connected the raveneye to the Dji rs3 Pro to control the active tracking via the display on the gimbal???

Which of these gimbals can take a heavier load?
the RS3 shoukld be compare with crane 2s or crane 3,
Hello, I'm enjoying the video. Can I know the setting value of Rs3?
Can you put links for the backpacks, or the names. Nice video a lot of information
thank you very much for the very useful information about the gimbal peter, keep up the good work, be well!!!
Ffs, I keep thinking you’re Peter McKinnon
hey man, thanks for the review. I'm considering getting the rs3, i'm not happy with the weebill 3. i just have a hard time to get really smooth shots while panning. is the rs3 customizable enough to get smooth deadband an slow panning settings?
I sold my weebill 2 a week ago and ordered my rs3 pro combo in dji store and will be delivered on July 23th in Thessaloniki Greece. I hope I did a good choise. Thanks for your helpful videos!!!
this helped me alot! thanks
Ordered RS3 Pro waiting for the delivery on Aug 9th... I thought it was gonna be available straight away after the announcement but that's not the case, it's being launched on the Aug 1st for consumers.
what gimbal do you recommend for a beginner? i'm thinking at something with a payload of minimum 3kg. thank you Peter
Go with RS3(buy combo package - you get more accessories).
RS3 is tested for 3kg, and I trust that more than 'compatible cameras' list of Weebil.
Hi, does anybody know if the follow focus motor of the RS2 will work with RS3?
Yeah it’s the same one. I’m using the same follow focus and Raveneye that I used on my RSC2. The Raveneye even transmits the video signal to the gimbal screen, so I think it’s the same one. But maybe the focus motor might be stronger, but it looks the same and works fine.
Xm! I end up buying... the weebill 3!
Wait, you said the battery was better on the DJI because you turn it off and on, well by that wouldn't the Weebill do the same
It is easy to turn the DJI rs3 on and off because of the auto lock function. That you do not have on the weebill 3. And I would not turn it off between takes because I would have to manually lock the axis. And that is why the battery will last longer on the dji RS3. It makes more sense when you have tried to work with it.
@@PeterMakholm Okay cool, thanks for the explanation
I wouldn't say "stay away" but it seems pretty obvious that the RS3 stumps the Weebill 3. If this is JUST the RS3 then I'll eagerly await a comparison between the Zhiyun and theRS3 Pro!
agree with you
Hi Peter i am thinking of getting a gimbal mainly travel videos on a a73 1635gm lens.
If only I had known earlier -:(
@@joyoffilming9500 Thanks for sharing your thoughts & experience.
Great review! U just buried the Weebill 3 😂
I upgraded from the Weebill S that died. The RS3 Pro is way less cheap feeling
I'm also considering switching. Do you feel that the RS3 stabilizes better than the Weebill S?
@@benfilming yeah the RS3 Pro is noticeably smoother
That Zhiyun footage is so shaky it made me nauseous.
Been waiting for this video , thanks Peter
Hello
Can the RS3 handle the a7iv with the sigma 24-70mm?
Definitely even with zoom motor attached
Actually the best comparison video I've found. Short and on to the point.
I am right handed but swap hands time to time. Didn't know about the Weebill's joystick position.
Zhiyun getting worse now.
It’s lowepro
Weebil 3 looks inferior in any aspect with the "original" Weebil S, ever in stabilization.....
Very desapoint...
Weebill 3 is better than RS3 i think and largely better than the plastic junk of the weebill S. It is a biased review. It is literally a joke to heard someone saying Weebill S would be better. Every reviewer and buyers of the weebill S have broken locks and jittery footage. This reviewer lost me on this statement. I unsubscribed.
Looks like you have no idea about all the simple and useful features which weebill3 provides
Stop making such paid and biased videos
I’m not having either of these gimbals
But I’ve tried both these gimbal once
Weebill3 is much better than rs3
Thank you for this very comprehensive video. This is just the thing to show our boss who is a Zhiyun fanbyoy. DJI knocked it out of the ballpark with the new Ronins.
