I eat it raw every morning. Clears the sinuses, cleans the teeth, and helps with digestion.

I buy a batch of organic lemons, ginger, juice them, put in ice cube trays, freeze them one tablespoon per cube, then have a week or more supply. Just pop the cubes into a cup, pour hot green tea over and you have lemon ginger green tea, add some stevia and teaspoon of honey. YUMM!

Yes the ginger works for high blood pressure unfortunately just for one hour or two. After that it shoots right back up so therefore it cannot be used as a medicine

I’ve used ginger for years to settle nausea and digestive issues. Admittedly I prefer the crystallised ginger (I know - naughty! lol). However for BP I use fresh ginger and boil it to make a ginger infusion to which I add fresh lemon juice, very refreshing in the morning.
Thanks again. It’s really good to know about natural alternatives to support and maintain our health.

I never gave overall health much thought. That's probably because I don't wear overalls.

Dr. S; I am a bit confused. Are you saying ginger helps reduce blood pressure (like beets)? Thank you.

I have heptorenal syndrome. Liver and Kidney issues. Trying to see some specialists who can deal with end stage AKI and Cirhossis.
Let's say my IBS and GERD is getting severe. Eating is getting incredibly difficult and I have a weird puking reflex along with insane thick mucous just behind where I can't gurgle to get it. Yet severe low liquid restrictions means I can't just start swallowing stuff to cough it ouf.
That puking reflex triggers when I chew my food to swallow. I also have to drink carbonated soda so been drinking ginger ale because a sip will allow me to vurp which helps.
Certain foods don't trigger it like preztles and apples or blue berries. Rice and mashed potatoes? Nope! Pickles are okay as long as crispy.
Anywho I wonder the fact I'm taking extra ginger snd lemon juice is actually causing issues because lately it's been horrible and just started. Also was given Zofran for nausea but that does little for the puking reflex and also might be causing the issue as I toned down on all three the past four days and feel better. Started trying to eat more yogurt since I'm on antibiotics daily and I'm sure my gut flora is decimated ever since I came down with Def C or whatever from last year. When I see these specialists I want to see why I'm still on the antibiotic. Past two days have been better as I was trying medicine for the heart burn from peptobismal to omoxparazole plus smithicone for gas but I believe the later just doesn't work and the former caused it to get worse.
I am trying to get on a transplant list for both liver and kidney. Yet like you say diet is a pain. I am SoL. Nutritonists are no help. Trying to find a doctor who has experience with it. I can handle everything but this nausea and low liquid restrictions are just brutal!
Wish I learned how to burp like some people haha. About to purchase a Sparkle Water system. I have to also drink a nutrional drink if I want to gain weight but those are so hard on the GI.
Sorry for the rant! I had surgery today and definitely feel the medication haha. Cheers to everyone and hope you are all great. Having my liver go sucked but triple so when I stopped producing urine ‐ if I ever get a transplant I'm celebrating not by some lavish get together. I'm going to come home and just going to get a large ice cold glass of chocolate lactaid protein and enjoy it guilt free till I'm full! Thats all I want. Take care of your bodies people and get check ups yearly.

My Dr prescribed amolodipine (sp?) for bp. I'm intermittent fasting 16-22 hours a day. Will fresh ginger tea interfere with bp med?

I believe the benefits don't last that long but if you take magnesium glycinate you'll probably have to discontinue the medication because the glycinate works so well.
It works so well for me I had to discontinue three BP medication's.
