Oh my I understand the struggle! I do have to say after a month of doing hoop, I miss my hammock so so much and I am so happy that it is July so I can return to my hammock. I can feel the improvement on hammock from training on the hoop tho!
Well, personally im only intrested in a hoop, but if i was you i would think about what takes up more space, what will be more fun and also remember that you can probibly return whatever you choose.
I suggest doing hoop first as it helps build up your strength and then maybe start silks after a month or so of hoop and it will be easier to start of with and you will also be more used to the pain and bruises. I made the mistake of doing silks first and then doing hoop and still regret it to this day
First time here. Never hit subscribe so quick. Your down to earth, kind, and teach in a way its not intimidating at all. Really easy to digest and comprehend. What a wonderful soul and high quality filming. Wow.
This is such a wonderful video, you’re instruction is clear and these all look like manageable movements to me. I had a difficult first lyra class last night and I’m hoping to try again with a different instructor who is able to touch on these true fundamentals. These videos are great studying pieces for me, in the interim. Thank you for sharing this!
Oh yes! Having instructors that can inspire and work with you is so important in helping you to find your aerial self! It’s ok that some lessons are just not meant for you! Takes a while to find exactly what you need, and I still keep looking because you can never have too much knowledge haha! Hope you don’t get shot down from the tough times, just know that the cool thing about aerials is WE ALL HAVE THE SAME STRUGGLES IN OUR OWN WAYS. Any aerialists will relate to your pain!
Hi I have been doing hoop for about a year now and your videos have really helped me to get even better I may not be a professional at it but your videos help me get better everyday thank you for being amazing ! Love Lucy( 11 years old )
hahahahah Gonna be 2 weeks before another one. Miss practicing hammock so much and I am so happy to be back that I fell off right the way hahaha Gotta be really careful whenever in the air. When is your coming? Have you taken some lessons with instructors yet?
aerialpractice yeah I took some before this virus shut everything down. And maaan I really do wish I knew when they will ship. All these videos is making me excited. I’m guessing tomorrow they will finally ship it since they said it takes 3 weeks to make it.
Great video! Definitely going to try some of the tricks. Is there any particular reason you use the "chin up" grip instead of "pull up" grip in pike mount? I have only tried it another way around so I found it interesting to see!
Nice!!! Look forward to see your practice if you don't mind sharing and tagging me when you post it =)! No particular reason. Only one of the options! I think it is important to practice both ways. Good catch tho! I will be shared to mention it in the next videos.
Oh! Thank you for this video! Ive been learning hoop, silks and pole for 3/4 years now in a class, and I’m finally getting my own hoop in my home! I’m super excited!!!!❤️
Eunice thank you so much! I really like your instructions which are clear and simple. I actually have some trouble following up in my current class since the teacher explains quite fast. You have given me so much confidence to continue practicing and your voice is so soothing! I really appreciate you taking the time to make these vids. Love from Taiwan 💗😀💗😀
I had the same trouble not understanding a lot of things for a long time hahah! So i thought i must not be alone haha! More are coming! stay tuned !Greetings from Amsterdam!
Woahh this is a very useful comment. I have a hammock video on spinning but maybe doing the same for the hoop will also help. I am gonna think about this and get back to you with a video soon! Stay tuned
I go to aerial hoop yoga class in Massena and I’m on my second year going there so I’m finally going to the final rank class and I’m getting really good so my mom ordered a hoop for me to practice in and I’m definitely gonna make a vid or maybe even tiktok of me doing the routine In my hoop z😁😁😁
I started hoop at a local studio a couple of months ago 💕 we have just gone back in to Lockdown here 🇬🇧 so have bought my own 🏡 these will be great to follow thank you x
how big is your hoop? I've become obsessed with watching aerial hoop dance videos, and I'm looking for information about sizes etc. I was really into pole dancing about 9 years ago, and own one. I've been to pole dance classes before, but never an aerial hoop class. I won't be going to one either because covid 19 is everywhere with out a vaccination yet. When in one of my pole dance classes I remembered the teacher telling me I would be most happy with a 45 mm pole when I buy one because of my small hands. Tell me all you can about the sizes of your hoop, how you up yours up, and where you bought yours please. I am 5 foot 2 and a half.
Hello Rebekah. Mine is 95cm. It's a bit small for me (I am 5'7) but I have a small space so I want to make sure it fits and I can practice it in 3 different height. I share more in this video (ua-cam.com/video/zobOOTj9BvU/v-deo.html). Hope you will find the right hoop!
My daughter who is 10 has an ariel yoga, a bungee dance and wants to purchase an ariel hoop. Would you recomend buying one with tape or not with tape?btw me and my daughter love your vids and think your so amazing!!!ty so much !😘
Awh thats so cute! I tried to get my niece to do hoop but she felt pain right the way and just gave me her frowned face haha!! For the hoop, it depends what trick she likes or wants to do. I liked that I started with taped so i didnt have to worry about slipping off, now i do want an untapped that would let me do sliding tricks..
I love your videos! I'm getting the same hoop as you showed in another video. I have a question though, I too live in the Netherlands but I don't know what kind of ceiling mount I should get. Do you use the same one as for your hammock? Thank you. :)
I have, sort of a question I guess, sorta a concern. I just got a hoop today and want to learn some tricks and I'm only on the first 1-2 right now and I'm perfectly fine leading with my right leg/side but absolutely can't figure out how to move my body along with the tutorial with the left side. Should I just keep trying until I can do both or move on? Because I don't wanna be stuck at beginner trying to figure it out. Is it normal to be right/left-side-dominant so early into starting?
Totally normal. You aren't stuck at all =) it's part of the progress. When my boyd cant figure out how to do one side, i try to do it again on my better side before trying on my "bad" side again. Just because it's not working yet doesnt mean you can't keep going forward, i just keep learning new things as I continue to reviw old things. Hope this helps!
Unfortunately.. yes... My legs also look horrible in June because I dedicated the month to practice Hoop. It is still metal against the skin. Especially at the beginning, I wasn't sure how to position my body and my weight, the bruising was worst. As I improved and got stronger, the bruising is less but I have learned that it will never fully go away just like the calluses on my hands. I thought about it many times why I or anyone would take the effort to torture ourselves, but I understand that growing past challenges is part of the path of getting strong and beautiful! What doesn't kill you makes you stronger, you will always be stronger than the version of you that didn't try. So here I am, continuing. There are many tricks that are unnecessarily painful, which you will never see me do haha!
I'm no professional because I'm getting a hoop for my birthday so I don't have it yet but if you are gonna get a hoop I suggest putting it outside so you don't knock over that plant in the corner
I wish I could put it outside but its so wet and cold here all the time. The plant never gets knocked over because my place has a lot of space, i just wish i have more vertical space!

I cant decide whether to get a hoop or silk, I really like both. I love your hoop style!

same! I think I want to do hoop because I feel like I’d be good at it and I would have more free style!
I suggest doing hoop first as it helps build up your strength and then maybe start silks after a month or so of hoop and it will be easier to start of with and you will also be more used to the pain and bruises. I made the mistake of doing silks first and then doing hoop and still regret it to this day
You've probably already decided, but imo hoop is safer to practice alone than silks as the knots can be done wrong easily and cause you to fall.
