So, after 3 months, how is it? I'm considering getting one in the future.
@rezaimran98 I figured a fix on the sound. The only game I haven't been able to get to work is Allan Awake 2 and KOTOR (which seems to be a problem for a lot of pcs). Every other game I've played over 100 works good. I mainly play AAA games. When playing in handheld mode it's awkward for fighting games like the New Mortal Kombat 1, which I prefer to play on my Asus Rog Ally. Playing Palworld Helldiver's 2, and Baldur's Gate 3 was miserable from my Ally because of the small text. I do miss VRR on my Ally it's noticeable and I seem to get about 5 more frames in games on my Ally VS my GO in most games. I tried the fps mode and it was awkward, I really didn't get in to the detachable controllers either. I tried while docked and found it to be a lackluster experience. I prefer using my xbox controller when docked. I love the device and usually pick it up over my Ally. The bigger screen is really the only advantage for me over my Ally. The Ally seems to perform better is significantly cheaper and better optimized in my opnion. These devices can hang with the big boys Warhammer 40,000 Darktide punishes the frame rate on some of the higher end pcs and I've been able to get 55 to 77 fps low settings 800p. I can crank the settings up and get a playable 44 to 55 fps.
Just a quick warning. DON'T use the hole in the case for charging unless you have turned off the unit completely. If it's in sleep mode putting in the cable can turn it on and it will be running in a case where there is nowhere to get air for the fan.

Basically think of it acting like a vacuum burning itself up, make sure it's powered off completely.

I think it's just a silly childish gimmick lol ...ain't nobody removing the joystick and using it as a mouse ... anyways, personally I am more inclined to buy the Rog ally coz it's more comfortable to hold and is better than the Steam Deck and similar to the Lenovo legion go

The detachable controllers means if one breaks it’s not a problem I like it.
And it's got hall effect sticks to go with it.

It's cool to witness this tech growing so rapidly over the last few years I'm not interested in getting one but maybe in a couple years when they are even more advanced, then maybe I'll revist them then

@@eros2144 Well duh they released that later tho, the original switch bezels were atrocious though and we know Nintendo is big enough to make them smaller at the same price. The quality was also very bad all they had to do was make it 900p instead of 720p
Man the handheld market is on 🔥. I’m dying to see what Valve does with the Deck 2. Might pick up the Lenovo this Holiday.

As an early Deck adopter the system is really nice. But the market has really amped up since it’s release. These days you almost can’t go wrong with what you pick lol.

Excited for this as I already own a Legion Laptop.
Actually, for me, it's a small computer. Because it has a standard Windows 11 OS and so powerful CPU with 16 GB DDR5 RAM. If anyone makes a video for use as a business-focused, It will be useful. Because the mobility of this guy is amazing. A lot of people maybe will not prefer the traditional ultrabook anymore.. I'm impressed. Waiting for getting one to use business-aimed.

I was really bummed by the fact that the ROG Ally does not have a trackpad which has made it impossible to play Grand Strategy games as well as it otherwise would on a device like the Steam Deck. I think the Legion Go offers the best of both worlds: A windows handheld that is user friendly and they actually went the extra mile by avoiding the typical gamer aesthetics.
I wouldn’t say user friendly. It lacks VRR and uses a mobile landscape screen which in turn can effect PC games.
@@BigWisperyeah the portrait display is gonna be annoying, also not sure why they went 144 hz instead of VRR, maybe the screen is from a different device?
I have some 100h of Total War: Warhammer on an XBox controller and I'm an average player, man. Trackpad is not mandatory for strategy games, you just have to get used to the controller. I wouldn't exclude ROG for that alone.
@@Ariranhaa It is possible, I mean CK3 was pretty enjoyable on the Xbox but I still think for a Windows device there must be some trackpad implementation so that it won't be clunky.

It's not a review though. Just a quick look. He mentioned the high refresh rate screen but fat chance it can run a ton of games at the native resolution and refresh rate until medium to high settings
Really? This is yet another first impressions video. No one has right now posted a full review, except for perhaps that Chinese dude.
Well we’ll see how the hardware really handles the operating system and see for ourselves through trial and error, can simply return to bestbuy if it turns out to be a burden.
Nothings better than trying it yourself hands down.

Great intro! I’m into flight sims so the mouse/joystick will be really cool with DCS. Check that out! All these handhelds are exploring new interface frontiers so yes, definitely have to go with the flow in that. Just remember, training muscle memory with new practices is mind expanding! I’m a synthesizer musician and this is my mantra. I look forward to your future work!

I'll wait for more reviews before picking one up. I already have a Steam Deck and ROG Ally but I'm tempted to get the Legion Go since I prefer handheld gaming.

@@rafaelbuberenko650 I play the Steam Deck for the verified playable games while the ROG Ally is for games that are unplayable on the Deck.
I play a lot of RPGs and there are a quite a few games in my library and other game launchers that has issues being played the Deck.

great to see a PC specific company go out of their comford zone and go straight in with gaming laptops and handhelds, this is interesting to me to see how you will find out with more time with it but one thing to ask how much is it compared to steam deck and Asus Rog cant make my mind up at the moment
They have definitely taken the short coming of the Rog Ally and improved on them. The FPS mode is cool. For me the controllers coming off I'll never look at doing and same with FPS mode as I use Xbox controller for docked mode and never use tabletop mode.
It's definitely great to see other ideas coming out and really looking forward to seeing the next few gens.
I fell if you get a Rog ally or the Go you won't be disappointed.
I'll definitely have to give FPS mode a try, I suspect it may actually be a better input for some games than a console controller

A missed opportunity by not having both detachable controllers connect together to form a single one. That would have been pretty damn cool.

I love my legion go I was lucky and bought mine for £588 brand name now it's gone back up to £700 in the UK. it has received many updates since this video and everything shown mainly has had an improvement which is quite nice
I like that you can essentially use it as like a tablet
Too bad Microsoft got rid of tablet mode after Windows 10!
@anjabenn yah but it should be good enough. With a Bluetooth keyboard not as neat as a tablet with an attached keyboard but should get the best of both worlds for when needed
I only need one hand held gaming system and that’s the steam deck I got it so I’m satisfied. This handheld looks dope though.

My Legion Go arrives in the next few hours, from Georgia to Anchorage Alaska. Can't wait to add it to my ROG Ally collection. It's sad that Alienware let Lenovo and Asus, beat them to the market..... especially when they had a super sick working prototype years ago🤦♂️
I think the absolute best feature of any gaming handheld, is the fact that the Ally supports the 4090 RTX XG Mobile. The two devices combined, is absolutely insane!
Specs wise, it seems the base model of the Legion is equal or slightly above the top model of the Rog Alley. With that bigger screen of the Legion Go it would be interesting to see how battery life compares.
Considering Black Friday is coming up, the Ally will likely be on sale and I doubt the Legion Go would be on sale a month after release. The ally might be the better buy at that time
Not with that SD card reader issue & those thick ass bezels. Also, I despise the fact ASUS didnt release a black model. Pure idiotic on their end.
The SD card issue of the ROG Ally is a real design issue. I suggest anyone that's considering one to look into it
Ally is already on sale for members and it's 599.99 keep in mind you still gotta update drive and the white sucks in imo gets real dirty quick

My Legion Go should be here in the next day or two. It /seems/ like a good middle ground between the Ally and Steam Deck in that it has a trackpad like the Deck, while still having broadly the same internals as the Rog Ally for the most part. Reviews of the Go seem to be positive too.
First time hearing of this. Was actually looking at the ROG, but now, I think this may be my purchase. Need to research it more, but this looks like a definite contender....

Lenovo is very smart and there cooking with this.
The joystick / mouse option is like a quest 3 controller. It's a morph of all 3. Consule controller , switch , mouse , and quest vr controllers.

Those controllers look harder to take off and put on than the Switch. Was that an issue?
Actually as i got older i've been using my laptop and desktop less and less for videogames and have been using my steamdeck more and more, but for more modern AAA games its a bit inefficient. Its more suited for on the go low power situations, so yeah its definetly on my radar. Especially since i've heard its compatible with e-gpu's so with some work you can get a dock with an rtx3080 desktop egpu or something and that will basically get it up to spec with proper pc hardware. Less upgradable tho ofc, no ram or cpu upgrades available for this thing.

Yes to all those things. One of the first accessories I'm getting for mine is a wireless mouse and keyboard combo.

Yeah I agree that the buttons for all the Legion stuff should've just been on the bottom instead. This is messing up with all the Xbox controllers out there. I doubt there will be a way to customize this as the lebels are printed already on the device so.
Ik this is a lenovo handheld video. But to answer Judd's question at the end. The steam deck has my eye right. Hoping to get it dec. I kind of want the lenovo go to but its way to expensive for me.the steam deck has that sweet spot when it comes to pricing.

Same power as Ally but larger screen so more chance of seeing those low res graphics since most big games run on low… at a more expensive price
i'm going to apply that's all I do is edit videos for people and for myself for gree, I use Final Cut Pro, LumaFusion, and logic Pro X for about six years and added it about 80 videos so far give or take
