Dude, the device is literally everything I thought it would be. It's awesome.
Picked one up a couple of days ago, really love it. Played Elden Ring and Forza Horizon 5 which felt and looked great. All in all it handles gaming like i hoped or a bit better, the overall quality seems great. Snappy to use as a computer aswell.

I would recommend trying the Legion by yourself and do not make decisions based on another person experience. I had the Rog Ally, it is an awesome device but what made me return it and get the Legion is that gorgeous screen. I have not issues using the Legion at all, I don't care about the joy cons since Im pretty sure I won't disconnect them, I have a monitor with a keyboard and a mouse where I can connect the handheld and turns automatically into a small PC. All the AAA games I have been playing runs beautifully in the Legion. What you like to do with the device and how you want to use it is based on the experience you want, not everybody is the same. VRR is not present in the Legion but is not a deal killer is you ask me, this thing works like a champ.

Oh boy do I have bad news for you. I mean they will update them but lenovo is not exactly known for supporting its devices. And any support like the deck will only happen because of valve.

@@jordirapper Why are you lying? Lenovo released a long roadmap a week ago. Lenovo keep people updated on next updates every day of the week, except for weekend. Lenovo even responds to people's requests every damn day.

The true strike controllers are like the perfect setup for pc in my opinion. I have always hated keyboard movement but have always liked mouse aim and lenovo basically just made a fantastic solution to this. I wonder if they will sell new controllers separately and if they will be compatible with any bluetooth available on pc
devs are active on the subreddit and provided a chunky piece of update info. They are in fact working on custom controllers or atleast looking into it, they are very responsive and consider all critiques given by the players, it's awesome to have such open communication with the community, Asus should take notes....

Thank you for the indepth video, with a selection of accessories. You're actually the first person I've heard saying you like the FPS mode. Very well detailed and fun to watch. The one thing that's making me lean more into getting the Legion go is that it has detachable controllers, that means it would be possible for Lenovo to make or replace just the controllers should one break or something, plus hall effect sensors to prevent stick drift. The issues you have can be fixed with software update. Also the screen looks amazing, small enough to be regarded as handheld, big enough for media consumption, yes it lacks vrr but right now only the Legion has that. Would it be possible to make another video showing EGPU support?
The Ally has had months to improve their software, the Deck has had years. That software is gonna get a lot better in the future, and if not, Linux is still an option

I just got my legion go this week and I am loving it. I had to tweak some settings for optimal use but who cares this thing is awesome!

I like that you compared with other competitors in the market not because you want to talk down on it, but as a fairer ballpark so people can know how it functions well or not in certain features. I bought one a few days ago. Software definitely needs improvement (both performance and usability), but once Space gets sorted out, it's awesome. I just have one request for Lenovo. For the love of god, please make a keyboard for this 🙏. Not required for gaming, but for taking this on the go (pun not intended) for both work and gaming would be fantastic. Right now, the only option is non-attachable keyboard which is meh (you can get a case to hold both together, but you will probably need to do some mod to it since most don't come with the appropriate hole for the ventilation)

@@shaluka21 you can use 2 ps5 controllers with the go, yes. Only issue I had was there was a bit of input lag (still playable, but noticeable) compared to when I use them on my desktop.
Not sure if it has improved it since then with the new bluetooth drivers bc I havent tried it in a couple of months.

Im wondering. Can you use the True Strike Controllers also as a normal gamepad? Like on PC? Normal gamepads destroy your posture and i think that might be an improvement in comfort.
Best purchase I've made in awhile. There are other users here. I love how you can install other operating systems or have a breezy beat studio on the go. It's amazing. The processor is amazing.

This does make me wonder. Would it be possible to buy the left controller (or hell, a pair) separately from the console itself and pair that to a PC? That way, I can use my Gaming PC with my choice of mouse and get the benefits of the analogue controllers and ergonomics of the Legion's left controller?
Or is there an alternative for such a thing? This is what got me interested in things like analogue keyboards (Wooting Two HE!), but they still are not the same as having an analogue stick and gamepad controls

As I type this from my legion go, I believe you can remove the RTruestrike thumb stick so you won't have to claw the vertical mouse. Also, I use an Xbox wired/wireless controller (you must enable in steam settings). Windows can run virtually any software like a desktop/laptop. I can't speak on any other handheld but, I do recommend LGo.

I used to play cyberpunk on the pc this way, with a controller on my left hand and mouse on the right hand. This fps mode sounds like a dream come true.
The best part of this video is in the end “you may not want to use it but it’s fine because at least we have options!”

At least I’m super eager for finally bringing my gigantic steam library around with me. It’s always pissed me off being stuck with consoles to play certain games or to play certain ways (especially because of how unpredictable my life can be, so having my life stuck to a giant gaming pc set up I can’t carry is stress) so it’s awesome that there’s finally a massive improvement for the industry.

I'd go for the Deck. The OLED is severely understated in how it makes the experience so much better and the screen is like one of the 40 things they refreshed, HDR support being one of the biggest that Valve isn't really talking about. I also think you get way more quality assurance with Valve than Lenovo but that's just my personal experience. Generally I think of it as the most reliable offering that won't stop getting support and it just got a massive upgrade.
the deck is massively underpowered compared to the go and the ally, but it's probably built nicer than either and valve has always had good support for their stuff. so if you're just playing older games or stuff that doesn't require high specs or you're not worried about holding high frames then i would probably go for the deck. realistically though i think you would be good with any of them
Legion GO or the Steam OLED Deck, you'll probably be happy either way. Thankfully it's not like a console where you're locking yourself into one market or the other.
But I'm happy with the Deck controller layout, and I have more trust in their customer support over Lenovo and definitely Asus. The latter is an absolute nightmare.
I was able to run MW2 at 60+ fps once tuned. I run windows 11 on my 1st Gen Steam deck. @@Crunkmaster
I am enjoying mine thus far, i was lucky to get the 2TB version. Already got it set up for ps2 emulation, working on switch next, it's a phenomal extension/addition for those with a legion gaming laptop like i do. Will mostly use mine for emulation, portable book readers and select pc games, i've been waiting for this since the psp days lol and the great thing about the ps2 emulator is that you don't have to manually assign controller keys like on pc, the legion go's controller's come with their own specialized drivers and even battery which is fucking great.

Just a small gripe you probably will never see but the background music under the software section is annoying. I thought a second video played in the background when I had my headset.
for me it is much more.The bigger screen and detachable controllers were huge and i never thought i would need it.i use it more than my series x and pc
well I didn't expect it to play the Ally out of the water specially since it comes with exactly the same APU being the Z1 Extreme, it's just an Ally with a few extras

Question about the Legion Go..i sm a left handed person with very limited use of my right side due to a stroke i had at birth.

IMPORTANT NOTE - Apparently, the device sometimes wakes up and runs the whole time it's charging. In the enclosed case, this would be terrible for thermals.

These “reviews” are really just hands on for people like us that don’t have one to see how they work in the end it’s really up to you and what you like. Many people are die hard steamdeck and never buy anything else, others recommend ROG ally but a lot has returned it for a steam deck or legion go. I was gonna get the ROG originally and decided to just go for the Legion GO. Keep in mind the other 2 had issues at release and was improved by updates by a lot, the legion go has only been out for a little over a month and has many more updates that will improve it as well.
I got mine 3 days before release because my girlfriend is a Best Buy manager, but after having my ROG melt a $170 SD card, I jumped on this immediately. Sold my steam deck because this - especially coupled with some AR glasses (Rokid Joy pack is better than Legion glasses, tried those too) this thing is hard to beat.
Had mine for about a week. Honestly an incredible gaming experience, runs all I play with flying colors
How did you connect that Logitech Keyboard to the Legion go? Mine need a USB Dongle. Or is there a Bluetooth mode on that keyboard?
Can confirm the Logitech K400 is a solid keyboard, I'm typing on mine right now from my bed. I bought this like four years ago and have yet to change the batteries, at this rate I'm gonna have to make sure they're not leaking before they even get a chance to die lmao. The only thing that gets a little wierd is likely a Windows issue more than anything, but sometimes it struggles to register mouse inputs and keyboard inputs at the same time for the touchpad. Not an issue unless you're a goober trying to play Minecraft from bed like me....
The LLG feels like the saying "if some is good, more is better, right?". The appeal to hand held gaming computers/consoles is the hand held part, the light weight but still able to play alot of the games.
Someone had to make a giant handheld and Lenovo was the one.

Another thing I’m curious about because of its tablet nature is if it supports the Lenovo Active Pen Pro 2 or any other stylus. I’m wondering if you can test this, or if you mentioned it later I will shut up and continue watching now.
I recently used a PS Nav controller with a mouse on my PC and it was great. Best of both worlds as you say and I was amazed no one has made a device like this specifically for PC then I seen the Legion Go doing it! I wonder, would you be able to use one of these controllers on a regular PC? The Legion Go looks incredible and that's actually another selling point to me!
The nav controller was great, used it in leu of a keyboard for some time when drawing on a Surface, but ultimately it's hard to get enough buttons as I want.
On another note, I really hope these hybrid devices push game companies to allow for mixed input with analog and m/kb input. When it works, it's so good.
yep! That's what I do with a 12 button mmo mouse in the other hand, so the amount of buttons is huge! Though tbh I don't use this setup often. I was just experimenting when I had some issues. I struggle with WASD sometimes. I just try to take breaks and keep an eye on it more than anything now but when it's really bad or the game I am playing is quite simple and not too hard I switch to that alternative setup! That's what I am shocked at, that there isn't a controller like this for the opposite hand to mouse but with more buttons! I would make one myself if I knew how haha. The closet thing I have seen are devices like Azeron keypads and Razer orbweaver / tartarus but they are claw like devices and not the same type of thing I was after. They are great though!@@joos3D

1:41 You gotta be more specific here. The answer is yes you can when your playing emulated games such as the switch I recently tried out Yuzu with Mario wonder, Mario kart 8, and smash bros. Once you map the controllers and set them as joycons it works and you can have 2 players.

I had a bad start with controllers. One was stuck on a fixed green colour. I tried reset via pin 📌 then buttons for hard reset of controller, nothing! Each time when controller software was updated, it only recognised right controller. Eventually, it updated, out of the blue. And...turned blue, that right was set to.

Went back and played some games which have exclusive mouse support. The true strike controllers work extremely well.

just here to tell you that their Lenovo Legion laptop premium series has been a market for a couple years in a row now, absolutely best laptops I`ve had so far tbh
I just got mine and probably gonna return it. The battery life and the device is just a frustrating experience more than anything I used.

I've been playing with half a steam controller and a gaming mouse for awhile since wasd hurts my hands. It takes a while to get used to bu is so much more comfortable.
The Steam Deck is my favorite. I am buying a Legion Go as well. I will have them up in my room with different games installed. I will play FPS games on the Legion Go most definitely. I also use my 6 TB Steam Deck setup for an actually PC which is the nice. I have 2 TB internal storage. A bunch of 2 TB and 1 TB micro Sd cards with a little thing to store them. They have different games in my library installed. Then I used the 6 and 1 dock from JSUAX with a M.2 Storage card mounted on it. It works just like a PC. I put my actual 3,800 pc to rest with this thing.

Does anyone know if I can map the buttons to keyboard buttons? All I could find was to map the gamepad buttons to other gamepad buttons and that doesn't help me...
I'd be more tempted if it was native 1080p it's more then enough PPI at that size. I'll take higher frame rates over an overkill res. Lowering won't look good being non native.
I could see people wanting the True Strike controllers to use with PC, especially just the left one.

I was actually thinking about pretty much the same thing but with 3d modeling and zbrush. Wacom tablets that have windows built in can run 1500+. This would be a nice alternative on the go.
You can use the joycons as 2 controllers. You just need to switch the mode with legion L+ Top R when they're unplugged

I like the legion go I sold my lcd steam deck for it. But I just bought a oled steam deck and the legion go is going back. The steam OS is just soooo much better and the battery isn't holding up on the go for what I expected. I'm realizing the steam deck gives me better flexibility when I'm not at home and that when I'm home I'm using streaming from steam link from my main gaming pc more than I'm using the hardware of the handheld to actually run the games so the legions go extra power really isn't something that's as big of a game changer than I thought it would be. Basically the biggest upside ended up being the better screen but now with the steam deck oled it no longer makes sense for me. If your a dad I highly reccomend getting a handheld and setting up streaming I'm finally getting through my titles while not having to be in front of my pc. It's not all about out the house gaming is also about conveniently playing at home as well.
Then you should just use a tablet or phone with sides controller and parsec or moonlight
@cotasa I did that in the past but the steam deck is a much better experience with the added benefit of what it can do on the go.

My legions been amazing. It's my first step into PC gaming, and I have been an Xbox fan since the get go, but so far awesome experience. A few small bugs from the software but they have been minor and I feel nowhere near the extent everyone's been saying. It's been running games with better graphics and experiences than my series x and I can play it from anywhere (within reasonable distance from an outlet 😂)
I had Legion Go for like 10 days now and i have no problems either. Since it runs on Windows, problems is easy to fix anyway.
Im the same as you friend. I was a xbox guy and wanting a pc for games I cant play otherwise.

how does it play gat 5 at high performance compared to your xbox
FPS mode takes a little getting used to....great convenient feature though once you're used to it and you want a little more accuracy than the thumbs sticks if you stink at using sticks like me.

You can upgrade the internal SSD with 2tb. Micro Center sells a 2tb version.
The micro SD card is for extra storage just like your phone.

wish he’d gone a little more in detail on the binding changes he made to make apex work because if apex detects mouse and controller inputs at same time it tends to freak out (I assume due to aim assist or the weird binding blocks controller has)
Flip the FPS mode switch, and that’s it.
It’s not recognized as a controller in this mode; and every keyboard input is available for you to map to the left truestrike.
I been playing on my legion go non stop and I’m bringing it on the road cause I’m a truck driver best purchase ever

Not to mention the fact they can make aftermarket controllers 😊
I would like to mention that out of ALL handhelds Legion Go requires the most amount of tinkering! You can buy it but you need to be on junior sysadmin level to use it.
If you know windows then you’ll be fine
The joy cons also aren't symmetrical in design, to be fair

I own the Legion Go and it works just fine, it's just you're used to high performance, "better" controls.
Personally I think the legion go offers great performance, like I can get 35-40 fps on warzone high settings, Major W!
For users like me it boils down to why do I need a windows handheld when I hate windows. That’s why I love my steamdeck you can keep your performance I use mine for emulation and I don’t care to emulate beyond the ps2 so I’m not missing out plus I have a steam subscription and Xbox game pass on my steamdeck I don’t need a huge gaming handheld at that price point and I had a choice I chose the steamdeck oled limited edition this past weekend over the legion at 8 inches it may as well be a tablet with handles and steamdeck is comfortable in my hands I own the launch edition of the deck so I’m comfortable with my choice
Do you mean you have gamepass cloud on the deck? Native gamepass only runs on windows atm. Which is why I use my steam deck less often, and thinking of picking up this or the ally
I waiting to see a review from someone with smaller hands. I tried holding the Legion Go and felt that the controllers were really awkward to hold if your hands weren't big enough. If not for that I might've just bought it
