Thumbs up!! Thank you for this quality and thorough review video. I really enjoyed the sound comparison part! 🔥
Your review is awesome. Thank you.
Great job. Keep going. It was a great review💪
Realistically, this mic would be fine for most. Quality content, attention to space, etc., Would be more important than having expensive equipment. Expensive toys are fine, just not really necessary.
surprisingly, I actually prefer the K688 via XLR's sound compared to the SM7b
Same here. I'm not sure what I like about the sound of the K688 over the SM7b, but I definitely prefer the sound of the Fifine, even in blind tests.
I also feel this way. Especially in the blind tests I’ve seen
Great comparison video! One thing. I wish you would have done a plosives test on the k688 with the sm7b pop filter on it.
He did
Shure is better when budget is not a factor, but for the price Fifine is really good, like really really good.
nice !!!!!!
Thanks for the great review! What is the length of the K688 pop filter please?
It's about 3-1/4" long
How can I remove the noise suspension it has by default?
Is it worth upgrading from a 669 :-/
I like the Fifine better than all of them
how did you get it to turn on with just the XLR cable
The rodecaster was powering it
Was an XLR cable used during your review?
Yes
Having a tough time deciding between this, or a blue yeti / at2020 usb+
Blue yeti sucks!!
@@IAMMIKEOit’s honestly not that bad just overpriced at this point
Is this better then a snowball usb mic because I'm planning to upgrade
Just depends what you are using it for. This is a dynamic mic and the snowball is a condenser. This should block out a little more surrounding noise plus has controls on the mic itself.
@@shotgunstudio5758 thanks I'm gonna be using it for livestreaming and my rooms a little noisy but as a whole I'm gonna be spending 1000 to upgrade my stream quality like a interface and a boom arm with a desk and monitors
If you do get an interface, that will open up a ton of different options for a mic.
Do you notice a good difference with the shure pop filter on it?
It helped a bit with the plosives
Price is the only advantage of Fifine K688.
Love blue xlr cable! Source? 👀
Blue/Red XLR Cables: amzn.to/3IETRmd
Thank you brother! Have you had any problem with the cables regarding EMI or fault connexions?
No issues so far!
This is not about built quality, this is about the sound dude
If want built like built like sm7b buy a tank on russia millitary
This is all about how it sound
Fot the price
That a killer dynamic microphone
Like what i say before, how it sound, fuckkkkk built quality for 100 $
not to crush your dreams, but it is about build quality. Build quality affects sound ALOT
this vs mv7x?
If you don’t need the usb function, then I would go with the mv7x. My 2 primary podcast mics are the sm7b and mv7x. Order the sm7b wind screen off Amazon and put it on the mv7x and it sounds better.
What audio interface did you use
Rodecaster Pro II
Boom arm?
amzn.to/3YashEY
4:43 thats simply wrong. You dont want to speak into the top of it, because you dont need to to get a good sound. The mic is supposed to point to your mouth, not your mouth towards the mic. If people would realize that more, we wouldnt need overprized windscreens like the ones from Shure.
Oh and btw... using the smaller Shure windscreen is changing nothing, EXCEPT that you will be farer away from the mic, due to its length in comparison to the original one. Except for that, there is no way i would advice on spending 20 bucks for the Shure windscreen for such a cheap microphone - then just buy a better microphone with the money.
Also it isnt helpfull or relevant that you are using the Rodecaster all the time. People looking for mics in that price category wont have that, so if you want to compare mics with processing on it, do it with the tools people will have to their hands. And thats usualy either just software via USB or an affordable interface.
