I'm so happy to see a habie video for squad. As someone who's poured countless brainlet hours into this game it's awesome to see someone start from scratch with how the game is now
He needs to take what he said about it being hell let loose but modern, Post Scriptum is better than hell let loose and Squad before 4.2 was probably better than both

Squad shines when playing in an organized, communicative squad/team. Its difficult to stumble across as a solo player joining random lobbies/squads, unfortunately. Your assessment definitely makes sense as I'm sure this is likely what it feels like for most new players coming into the game, as even with hundreds of hours in the game, I still have some matches where it feels like im just dying over and over to invisible sniper ghosts while my team is scattered across the map and not communicating at all.

Yesssss, Habie my boy, I entirely understand you. For at least the first 30ish hours of squad, you won't know where the fuck the hostiles are. It has sort of a learning cliff... But goddamn, when you get over it and actually learn how to lead, communicate and operate vehicles correctly; it becomes such a rewarding experience! Idk why but for me a warfare game where most of the time both sides are just randomly shooting at direction where they think the enemy is sounds way more fun than a game where I should be able to react to enemy jumping in front of me in 0.01s
You're gonna need like 50 friends, lmfao. The game is best when you are part of an organization or work well with certain orgs like Liquid Gaming or Valhalla. They have strict rules on combat roles and utilize the realism aspect that Squad is designed for. Having a few friends works ok too, but you can't expect a BF experience with only 2 or 3 people. You are a solider with a specific role in a squad of 10, depending on the SL it's rare to be able to just go out and run around the battlefield. 99% of the time, you are working with numerous other people and sometimes other squads depending on SL's orders. Joining anything but learning servers will get you kicked if you are not listening to orders from SL, or you are an SL and not contributing to the effort of the battle.
3 friends playing together is optimal i'd say. Enough to be effective in infantry combat by themselves, and enough to drive any vehicle as a crew. Also, if you play alone you can make new friends in game. One of the few communities were mostly everyone talks and communicates.
Great video bud, like it very much. Everything you said I can agree with, just the only point I don't see right is that these 2 games can't be played on same way with same tactics and having the same result. Hell Let Loose is more of a closer combat like you said mostly because of iron sights and Squad do feel like you are fighting the "smoke people" when you play in on the way like you play Hell Let Loose. But Squad is very different, great modern simulation combat and it requires modern strategies and modernized warfare approach. It's not like trench runs and field crossing, it's slower, it requires more different actions and little bit more complicated view of the combat. I would say both games are equally great, Hell Let Loose would be more for "OG action warfare" lovers, squad would be more for tactical slow modern warfare enjoyers. Cheers!

Hey Habie, thanks for your fun video! Coming from games like BF2, transitioning to Project Reality (a mod from 15?? years ago) that is now a standalone mod which then became essentially Squad. This makes people like me just love everything about it. Its like a time travel and like in Siege, I can assure you, that you will start seeing the opponent at some point after some matches.. Anyway: it is a hard game and it is definitely not for everyone. Take care :)
i love squad, but only to play as a support squad. set up a S-fob somewhere in the middle and build a mortar team. have the helo out for air support and resupply runs. just be useful to the team instead of running face first into bullets
modern warfare might feel like chaos at first but only because we have a multitude of different tools to wage war, and only when/if we find a way to utilize these tools we can be as posh and efficient in combat as a WASP stereotype in sitcoms
its crazy how the more you play this game the better you become at combat, i know that sounds obvious but the amount of things you do differently as a more seasoned player is crazy. seeing a noobie play is like a time portal to the past.
It took me a good 100 hours before I learned to take proper cover and listen to where shots were coming from. Plus with the addition of muzzle flashes it's much easier to find where the enemy is shooting from.
My BEST day in Squad, was when I proned with the SAW pointing down a walled road. Enemies would constantly jump over the wall, and I would proceed to mow them down. I kept this up until mortars.

"The hell let loose in 2004"
Project reality, which later was remade into Squad, was a thing way, way before HLL
Squad isn't a modern hell let loose, hell let loose is a WW2 Squad, even then Squad made a better WW2 Sim called post scriptum you should check it out
Nah, PS is a WW2 Squad. HLL is a different beast.
@@chris-zt7eo Ive played a little HLL but ive always liked the PS communities. Shame they died in Aus maybe ill have to pick up HLL then
Squad is definitely not if HLL was set in 2004. These games aren't even similar. It'd be if Post Scriptum was set in 2004, since they're both actually MilSims and published by the same company.
I agree with the gun opinions. The M4 is just so boring because it's all over the place. The older guns have such a charm to them.
Could you try enlisted, it seems up your alley and it’s so fun
Edit:and it’s free
army recruiters be like

Hardcore battlefront

Galactic contention mod for squad is the best Star Wars game you can play
Pretty much had the same experience when I bought this last weekend
The pilot had enough of the smoothbrains
started playing this game a little bit ago and fell in love with it.... doesnt even matter if i get kills tbh its just adrenaline inducing madness and when you do have a good game (for me thats like 8 kills) its absolutely invigorating
DO NOT SLEEP ON SQUADS SISTER GAME POST-SCRIPTUM!!! PLEASE COVER IT HABIE!!!
Beyond the Wire is good too (squads base code WW1 game) and only 10 bucks with bots
The way to not walk into enemy spawns is to listen to the squad leader. Or just play the star wars mod

Hey Habie,
thanks for your fun video!
Plus with the addition of muzzle flashes it's much easier to find where the enemy is shooting from.
squad came first, so really post scriptum is "squad if it was set in the 1940s"
My BEST day in Squad, was when I proned with the SAW pointing down a walled road. Enemies would constantly jump over the wall, and I would proceed to mow them down. I kept this up until mortars.
Finally habie plays squad.
just sneak dissing squad the entire time.
If you set your video to export in 4K, UA-cam will dedicate more bitrate to it even if it isn't actually higher resolution.
got here within 19 seconds, that’s pretty good
wow ive been playing squad for over a year now and its crazy to see the difference between how my games go and a new players its like 2 different games
This was too funny man, "I sneezed for my first kill", haaaa

I've been waiting for this video for ages
I'm glad you showed this video. I just Started watched Ariel coverage of games and I wondered what the individual players saw.
6:10 because the US guns usually have sights on them whilst most guns on the other sides are iron sights, it makes sense
