This channel is deservedly meteoric. Not so long back Gary was celebrating 1000 subscribers and now I see 6000 views in an hour and 121,000 subs. Amazing work.
Longtime fan here. I just realized that one reason I like your reviews is your practice of enjoying your meal. I have tried to slow down my eating habits, as I tended to wolf down my food while reading a book or watching the tube. I wasn’t relishing the experience. Now I take time to slowly eat, pretend I’m critiquing the meal, and trying new foods. Thank you.
What's reassuring is that you were served a SLICE of a larger pie. Practically all pubs serve a whole miniature pie, which inevitably is 80% crust. The scallops also looked delicious. You chose very well.
Hi Gary, youtube gave me one of your videos on my recommended list. I saw the thumbnail and thought, 'whats so special about this guy eating food'. Turns out its your personality. You're a fantastic presenter and could easily be on tv for something like this. I'm going through a rough patch at the minute, and seeing you say 'lets give it a go' with that jog makes me smile. Keep it up, i'l be watching!
Good evening Gary. Great to see you again. Chemo again yesterday so needed a smile and lots of positivity!! Cheers and thanks for being a top bloke. Stephen.
I have to say, I will always prefer when Gary visits the older more historical pubs and restaurants!! Old Soul at heart here. It's also always wonderful to see which older establishments have kept their authenticity over the years!! Thank you Gary❤ Always a joy to watch you!!
Gary, Can't beat that combination; Beautiful village, family run pub, excellent food !! Thank you both for the video, and good afternoon from the U.S.A.

I have to say, the consistency in content that you put out is up there with the top UA-camrs. So frequent, and always the same high standard. Why settle for quality or quantity when you can have both!
Dear Mr Gary "Millionaire" Eats. Thank you for your patronage in our 1050 year old pub. We were delighted to furnish you with our homemade delicacies. The recipes remain unchanged since day one. Many of the staff here are original too. The only change is that in this modern day we are no longer allowed to have real arms hanging from the pub sign. Historically, we had such joyous times playing such pub games as " whose arms are these? "...and " Which finger falls first?"......They were the days.....Your visit brought us great delight and we hope to see you again....and it was so generous for you to tell all your followers that you will pay for each and every one of them to visit and consume our food and drink on your tab.....being the "milionaire" that you are. ...Thank you Mr Gary. 😊
So much on that plate could go so wrong! Yet they seemed to have mastered every element! You're on a roll at the moment with your choices hitting it out of the park. And the 'UA-cam/Millionaire' comment made me chuckle!
Hi gary Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We are thrilled to hear that you enjoyed your experience with us. Your kind words mean a lot to us and myself, especially. I have only been cooking for under 2 years, and I still have loads to learn. I might start with taking the yorkshire pudding off the pie dish 😅 We look forward to welcoming you back anytime. Andy
Thank you very much for your wonderful comment, Andy. we both had a brilliant time at your fantastic pub. Congratulations to you the family and the whole team you should be very proud. I wish you all the very best for the future and you will see me there one day as I had such a great time. Please have a wonderful week and thank all the staff from me.
Good quality, homemade, simple grub! Well worth waiting for! 25 minutes? I’d have happily waited an hour for that meal, especially in such beautiful surroundings. Good food is always enjoyed leisurely. Another great choice, Gary. Cheers, mate!
Love the gentlemanly way you handled the disappointing Yorkshire. "I don't think we need that on here (anyway)" So often now days it's IT RUINED THE MEAL!!! Top draw civility my man!
I love village pubs like this one and if it was my local I would think myself very lucky. Fantastic ingredients which have been cooked with love and skill to produce extremely good plates of food - they looked delicious too. Great review as always Gary, thanks.
Gary, due to deafness I rely on the subtitles, but your facial expressions usually tell me within seconds how the meal is going, and this one was excellent to the extent that I was truly envious (but I'll get over it) thank you.
Odd! I really didn’t appreciate on You Tube it went world wide - I thought Gary was just keeping us Brits informed and entertained. Great Canada is in on the site too. International Gary!
The absolute star was the starter. Then an amazing pie packed full of meat. Yorkshire pudding looked out of place. Fresh chunky chips...excellent. Perfect gravy. Dessert looked good. Price was excellent. 10/10
What a wonderful location. Not been. That meal was incredible. A wonderful proper pie. The starters was also incredible. My favourite ingredients as well. As usual, you delivered well on the review. Many thanks.
By coincidence we ate at the Bingley last night … excellent Fish & Chips. They let us stay overnight in the car park in our (5m small) Motorhome, so could drink without driving. Don’t park under the tree near the bottom by the works container … Squirrels breakfast on the nut tree at 06:00 and bombarded us with nuts! Great place to eat. Thanks.
Few, if any, things in my life recently have been as delightful as witnessing you enthuse over good food at a good place. I shall never get to experience this place, but I wish you a wonderful life and all the best for the future for you, your camerason, and for your channel. May it grow and prosper until one day you decide you want to retire it. Have a good life.
Ahhhh... Gary - you beauty. Memories, memories, memories. Back in the early 80s, we used to live 5 miles from the Bingley Arms by the old Leeds ring road. It served a great pint of Leeds brewed Tetleys back then. Locals to the area and beer afficianados will know what I mean. It was also much smaller internally back then too. Had a few pints with friends I can tell you. Never ate there. Bardsey used to be full of lovely houses and very affluent people, including a couple of the Leeds United greats. That food was awesome. You chose well. The gravy boat was there to allow you to top up the Yorkshire Pud and dunk your chips in and /or smother your pastry crust in it. I agree with you - that pie was special. A well deserved 9.
@GaryEats MOT, Gary? If only I knew what it meant. 😀 Not at the mo, but can be arranged. I'll email you some details and recommendations. Hope it's not a hospitality trade acronym or else I'm barking up the wrong tree. 🤔
Ahhh. Right. Thanks for clarifying. I was barking up the wrong tree. Sorry I'm a fervent Hull KR and Rugby League fan, Gary. Leeds Rhinos use that MOT song too.
You go from strength to strength. When the humble pie is elevated to star status then you know you're on to a winner. The delight on your face is infectious and is great to see. I'd scoff the lot, starter, main and pud. Well done on another top notch review.
Living in Thailand there is not a lot I miss about England. But Village Pubs, English beer and grub is a major one. Not sure whether to thank you or hate you for bringing the flavour of it all into my hai village. Actually, I do. BIG THANK YOU. :)
Gary, The Bingley Arms interior shots are everything I imagined an English pub/inn should be. The scallops looked great! Again, a wonderful trip into English dining, culture and history for those of us on this side of the Atlantic. Well done, sir, well done!
Hello Gary all your videos make me smile. I love that you're making these along with your Son. You're a brilliant team . A beautiful pub, lovely surroundings and delicious food . What a beautiful pub. Perfect for the summer, sitting out in the beer garden, but would be so warm and cosy in the winter sat inside with a pint. And the food's great as well! If I had a pub like that near me I'd basically move in hahah
Another great review Gary. I haven’t been to the Bingley Arms for over 40 years, but will definitely go back there soon, as a result of your splendid review.
Hi Gary and Mr Cameraman Well what a lovely place you found here. Firstly the starter, now i must admit iv never heard of a pairing of pork and scallops, but it seemed you really liked it with the sauce and all. Not sure if i would do a hard crackling with such a delicate scallop. The beef in Ale pie, wow that had an amazing filling and as you said a lovely rich Gravy (i still use browning) The chips looked great and well seasoned, and those sweet carrots were defiantly chantenay. Now the millionaire Browne, i know my wife and daughters would love that as its so sweet, but i personally find rich deserts a little sickly, and if they had that, i would of finished with cheese board. Gary does a great job when he does Reviews he shows everything that’s available on the menu and all the prices and gives an honest summary of how the food and atmosphere was good on you 👍🏻
It’s a fabulous pub in a lovely village, a friend of mine took this pub 40yrs ago and had a good rummage around it, secret tunnels and even a Priest hiding Hole unchanged from the 1500’s Welcome to my home City of Leeds, you have chosen two superb restaurants for your visit 👌👍
It was funny to see you get recognised in your last video Gary! You're becoming famous! Have you noticed it happening more often?? Love from all the Family xx
As pub food goes that looked lovely. I don't think I have ever seen pub food that good. And the Bingley is 1000 years old ?...wow, Nice one Gary and cameraman.
Proper pie proper chips and proper gravy , what more could you want 😋 Family owned too even better . Great shots from the cameraman and another excellent review Gary.
Very very nice find Gary. The starter looked wonderful (very unusual) and so did the main. Very lovely pub...great for the summer and I bet it's warm in the winter with that big fire! A good pie these days is hard to find, but now I know where to get one. That was proper Desperate Dan pie!
I absolutely love watching your videos, Gary! Your passion for food and exploration is so inspiring. It's amazing how you bring the flavors and stories of different cuisines to life. This video at the oldest pub in the UK was incredible-imagine a place that's been standing for over 1000 years and has witnessed the entirety of UK history! It must have been surreal to walk through those doors and experience a place with such deep historical roots. Keep sharing these amazing food journeys with us! Love from India🇮🇳 - Swapnil
There’s nothing like your favorite pub. It’s like a home that kicks you out at closing time. Mine is the Mucky Duck in Ames, Iowa. Great fish and chips with some smoky mushy peas and some curry sauce for the chips.
Hi Gary, glad you enjoyed the Bingley Arms. I used to go for a drink and a meal from time to time. I haven’t been since before lockdown, not sure why. Will make sure to go again soon. Has always been a good pub, it’s less than 10 miles from me. Started going to the Hare and hounds near Mirfield, bit closer to me. The food is excellent as well. Great video as usual, thanks 🥰
Another great review, I really love how you break down individual dishes to talk about things such as how certain ingredients work together (or in some cases don't). I'm not saying yours is the only channel that does this but you're certainly among the best at it.
My kind of food. Finding properly prepared and cooked chips is so difficult nowadays! Brilliant quality pub food, that pie looked amazing! I have made the cardinal mistake of watching this review on an empty tummy, I am almost chewing my own arm off, watching you eat this wonderful scran!
That pub was beautiful it had so much character and the food while not fancy looked delicious. You don't have to go to a fancy restaurant to enjoy good food at a reasonable price 😊
What a beautiful historic pub, I'm liking that inglenook fireplace. The presentation of the main course was lovely, all looked very nice quality. Another great review Gary and cameraman 🙂
The videography has really increased in resolution or is it my imagination? Sound, exposure settings are 1st class so pleased you have such a professional camera operator. The closeups, panning and zooms are broadcast quality. 10/10 from Australia. Have a safe and happy week sir.
@@GaryEats Well what a fortunate young man to be able to spend such productive and quality time with his dad! Welcome to my home City of Leeds, you have chosen two superb restaurants for your visit 👌👍
Thank you very much for your comment, David and in fact it was free, not trying to ruin tomorrow’s video
It was funny to see you get recognised in your last video Gary! You're becoming famous! Have you noticed it happening more often?? Love from all the Family xx
It’s happening a lot more often now! I got noticed in this video as well!!
Your recognition is VERY WELL DESERVED. Thank you for another GREAT review.

@@747jono Humour not one of your strongpoints then? 😂😂
Well done yet again Gary
Thanks David
As pub food goes that looked lovely. I don't think I have ever seen pub food that good. And the Bingley is 1000 years old ?...wow, Nice one Gary and cameraman.
That’s very kind, thank you, Daz
Proper pie proper chips and proper gravy , what more could you want 😋 Family owned too even better .
Great shots from the cameraman and another excellent review Gary.
You should do the danny mae lan malin down a pint of lumpy gravy challenge 😂.record is 4.7 secs by little Steve in rothwell leeds
That’s very kind and appreciated. Thank you for your comment, Pat.
Very very nice find Gary. The starter looked wonderful (very unusual) and so did the main. Very lovely pub...great for the summer and I bet it's warm in the winter with that big fire! A good pie these days is hard to find, but now I know where to get one. That was proper Desperate Dan pie!
This is definitely worth a visit some brilliant cooking
Another great review. Well done.
That’s very kind, thank you, Mike
I absolutely love watching your videos, Gary! Your passion for food and exploration is so inspiring. It's amazing how you bring the flavors and stories of different cuisines to life.
This video at the oldest pub in the UK was incredible-imagine a place that's been standing for over 1000 years and has witnessed the entirety of UK history! It must have been surreal to walk through those doors and experience a place with such deep historical roots.
Keep sharing these amazing food journeys with us!
Love from India🇮🇳

Is it lovely coming to make thank you so very much for watching from India please have a wonderful Sunday, Swapnil 🇮🇳🇮🇳
There’s nothing like your favorite pub. It’s like a home that kicks you out at closing time. Mine is the Mucky Duck in Ames, Iowa. Great fish and chips with some smoky mushy peas and some curry sauce for the chips.
Very much agree with you Tracy
A placed to grow.
I really appreciate that, thank you Gail
Keep up the great work, always nice to see a new review 👍 greetings from sweden
Thank you my friend
Another great review, I really love how you break down individual dishes to talk about things such as how certain ingredients work together (or in some cases don't). I'm not saying yours is the only channel that does this but you're certainly among the best at it.
That’s very kind to say, thank you very much Walter
Looks lovely that Gary and you brought the sunshine with you too.
I certainly did Tom and thank you very much
I miss places like this in England, good days 👍
Stunning beautiful place
Wow, what an incredible video Gary. Firstly I love Yorkshire, and that pub food, can hold it's head up high. I would love to go there, one day.
I love it up here as well Dale. Always had excellent food
here in the USA we really have no idea of what old is. great show again Gary. liked and subsribed
That’s very kind and appreciated thank you very much much
I recently heard a great quote comparing Europe to the US: In the US, 200 years is a long time, in Europe 200 miles is a long way.
@@walterekurtz4320 so true
My kind of food. Finding properly prepared and cooked chips is so difficult nowadays! Brilliant quality pub food, that pie looked amazing! I have made the cardinal mistake of watching this review on an empty tummy, I am almost chewing my own arm off, watching you eat this wonderful scran!
Thank you for your wonderful comment it did make me laugh though
Thanks Gary - it looks great . It is good to see a pub seeking to attain such high standards.
I agree with you completely Chris. Well done to the owners.
That pub was beautiful it had so much character and the food while not fancy looked delicious. You don't have to go to a fancy restaurant to enjoy good food at a reasonable price 😊
I agree with you completely Greg and excellent pub and fantastic pub grub
I would rather wait for quality ... And that pie .... I am heading to this place soon for that Pie. Thank you Gary.
Fantastic to hear, enjoy it
What a beautiful historic pub, I'm liking that inglenook fireplace.
The presentation of the main course was lovely, all looked very nice quality.
Another great review Gary and cameraman 🙂
Glad you enjoyed it Rosie. Really nice traditional pub!
@@GaryEats I'm off to try and make that Lebanese cauliflower you had the other day 😋

Looks lovely. If you ever visit Scotland, the Clachan Inn, Drymen is Scotland’s Oldest Inn, lovely pub food and excellent service too 🍽️
I will take a look at your recommendation, thank you very much, Deborah
Looks a great rural Inn serving 1st class food ❤❤
Great looking pub Gary eith a stunning patio / outside space.
I agree with you
The videography has really increased in resolution or is it my imagination? Sound, exposure settings are 1st class so pleased you have such a professional camera operator. The closeups, panning and zooms are broadcast quality. 10/10 from Australia. Have a safe and happy week sir.
That is very kind, thank you very much. I will let my son cameraman know.
@@GaryEats Well what a fortunate young man to be able to spend such productive and quality time with his dad! Both of our sons worked with my wife and I in our various business ventures and we all have so many happy memories and not to mention it gave them such positive outlooks on both life and towards work. Congratulations.;-)
Amazing to hear. Thank you for sharing and have a lovely week
That was a lovely looking meal Gaz. All 3 courses were bang on. Thanks 🙏 buddy. Thanks 🙏 camera man. 👍
That's very kind of you, thank you Philip
Another brilliant down to earth video Gary excellent
best food channel on YT by a mile
doesn’t repeat everything 20 times doesn’t bang on about things that are annoying him
just gets on with his business that’s why his channel is growing at the rate it is, doesn’t just do bfast and fish and chips
That's very kind of you, thank you Martin. I try to mix it up although quite a few Fish and Chips because I know it's very popular
It is one of the reasons scallops should be served in a warm bowl or plate as they do continue cooking! Thank you from Cyprus. 👍👍👍👍
That is very true, Jacqui
Definitely worth a visit. Good food and beautiful pub; perfect destination for a weekend visit.

well, gota say, Brits love their carbs. beef wellington, chips, roasties, pies, battered fish, chip butties, yorkshire pud, fried bread, gregg's, the list goes on. good scran for the rest of us out in the world.... sometimes, not all the time. 😂
I understand your point, but I really enjoyed this one
Keep up the good work Gary. Love the channel👍
Thank you very much, Gareth
Epseptional mate nothing better than proper home cooked pub grub the whole meal looked lovely the pie with all that meat and homecooked chips only thing I'm not keen on is the carrots cooked like that but has to be a 9/10 but 10/10 review from you Gary as always love your videos have a great weekend
