Yes it’s a biscuit, yes you dip in gravy( we order them for breakfast here in the US) or put jam and butter on them ! They look really good actually! Thanks for the video Gary Dear♥️‼️🙋♀️🥰We love you❣️
I love these reviews. Gary is very polite and seems to be a good, ordinary person which makes the reviews something to connect with. My grandchildren dragged us to Popeyes in Reading. Ordering on the screens was not easy and they had fingerprints on them, yuk! As for the food, it was OK but not worth the money. We ordered fries, but they had seasoning on them! Another yuk! But the kids loved it. I wouldn't bother again, can cook much better and cheaper at home, but I appreciate that's not the point for their customers.
Have been to Popeyes quite a few times in Texas (have family there) and love it. Didn’t know they have branches in England!!! Would definitely try with Hubby Joe, but unfortunately not near us. I actually laughed out loud with you ordering on screen - thought it was only me that was so impatient - they are so annoying. As usual, another great review, Gary!
Tried popeyes 2 weeks ago for the first time. I went with my 16 year old daughter who was excited to try it. I have to say. It was one of the best cooked chicken sandwiches I’ve ever tried. Juicy. Succulent. Perfectly cooked. Gets a thumbs up from me.
Wouldn't want to be sat in front of Gary in Economy on a Longhaul flight. He'd be smashing the IFE screen behind my head for 12 hours! (great food reviewer BTW).
I make this sort of stuff at home all the time, with generic corn flakes. You don't need to deep fry them, an air fryer or oven works. If I do have time, I deep fry them twice in a wok. And the reason? I went to Popeyes, and became addicted.

Picking stuff out of teeth with fingernails happens WAY more often than you'd like to think. And rather a frightening percentage of people don't wash their hands after using the toilet
Absolutely right about washing hands after using touch screen. Some years ago My husband and I spent the weekend Christmas shopping in Cardiff. At the end of the trip we went into a well known fast food chain. My husband ended up with a really nasty sickness bug. 🤮We couldn’t understand why as we had ate the same thing as each other all weekend and I was fine. The only difference was that he’d ordered off the touch screen then ate straight away without hand washing first. Never again!!! 😫
Another excellent video!! Love the variety of restaurants and places you visit. This is definitely one on my radar after last eating them in the USA. Chicken sandwich and the tenders looked amazing. Good to know it's not only me that has problems with the dreaded ordering kiosk, I would rather order on a phone app than use those machines. Great review. I like the way you review chain restaurants and fast food outlets too. I very rarely eat in such places but I would definitely try Popeyes.
Surprised but pleased by how many people are anti self service. I work in retail currently, been there about 6 months. I'd say about 65-70% of our customers go for self service (give or take certain days, Saturdays are always so busy you don't keep track). But the ones that don't feel strongly about it and I always appreciate that conversation. I'm often left standing alone behind a counter watching people go to self service on quieter days. Spent ten minutes trying to help an elderly gentleman to check in on a touch screen at my GP surgery today, unfortunately he couldn’t remember his date of birth. Had to direct him to the grumpy receptionist, poor soul was upset. Technology is great if people can work it. Not a fast food fan but I’d maybe give this one a go.
@@hughblack6831 I don’t mind it but my elderly parents struggle with it as they’re both blind. This elderly gent had cognitive problems, so it’s not ideal unless you have someone with you. Sadly a surprising amount of people can’t read either - you’ve no idea.
@@buffys3477 Not keen on touching something that loads of sick people may have touched. Even with the hand sanitiser that's sprayed about. I'll agree with you about the illiteracy, I was in casualty a few years back with my daughter and the guy next to me (early 20s) couldn't fill in his form, so I helped him out as you could see he was getting frustrated. The software on the touchscreens makes sense to the developers, but not necessarily to the public at large. As I edge closer to old age though, I'm seeing gaps appearing in my IT skills now - that's the frightening bit. 😬
@@hughblack6831 I agree, it’s not very hygienic. I’m heading towards old age too and can keep up with basic technology - so far. I’d hate to end up really struggling like my parents.
My surgery has a check in iPad, but the receptionist couldn’t care less if you don’t wish to use it. I presume it exists purely for those who want to avoid contact with reception or the up to 2 minute wait.
The variety of restaurants you go to is amazing 👏 I'm going through your past videos to find out what joints I need to go too. In time all bad restaurants will fear your presence. Good thing is they can up there game. I'm a fan of your channel probably. the best food content channel 👌 around.
Garry next time you use one of those machines try not pointing your finger at it 👉 But use the finger print part of your finger☝️If this doesn't work try using the knuckley part of your hand to push through the glass to the chosen item 👊.
13:41 Hey Gary - great video. Thanks for the nostalgia trip as my Mother used to make those fried scones/biscuits and serve them with lashings of butter and golden syrup. You’re not the only one who has problems with those screens either. 😂
@@GaryEats Hi Gary - Lahpet has two locations, one in shoreditch and one in the west end (Covent garden). It’s Burmese cuisine, which you are yet to cover! Emilia’s crafted pasta has four locations (st katharine’s dock, Aldgate, Canary Wharf and Baker Street).
Hi Gary. Like you avoid mushrooms, I’m not a fan of chicken so I won’t comment on the food. However, your criticism of the touch screen operation and it cleanliness is very relevant. Particularly when eating food with our fingers. A sachet of sanitiser with each order should be mandatory. Cheers.
In my humble opinion Popeyes has the best fried chicken as well as the best chicken sandwich of any Fast Food joint. Also, there gravy for the mashed potatoes is great. Good video.
........so many takeaways now. What really worries me, is where all the food is sourced from. We don't ask do we, or do we care when we are hungry. All the best😎☯️
Another great review Gary! Just a little heads up... the issue with the touchscreen was you were tapping with 2 fingers which confused the haptic feedback. In the future, using just one digit to tap is much more responsive.
I had the unprivileged of trying a local popeyes near me after reading a local rag review raving how good it was.As i love fried chicken ill give it ago.. But i was disappointed with dinning experience. For me with fried chicken it is all about the coating. But for me it was like eating crushed cornflakes plus also the gravy and mash was crap imo. I have better fried chicken in many chippys. Thank you for your video
Oh wow, those chicken tenders looked amazing, as did the biscuit and gravy! Sadly i'm in the sticks, on the west coast of Wales, and there's only 2 branches in Wales, at Cardiff, and Newport, so far too great a distance for me, being housebound as I am! That sandwich looked amazing, too! Lol
Im sorry mate, but when you have to thump a screen for an order, you lost me there! Even my GP surgery has a machine like that, covered in every germ known to man - I give up.
@@Hellomynameis93 no, ghastly thought. It's self-service because it saves employing a friendly individual to greet and serve you personally, makes for a dull and anodyne experience, sorry. Imagine going to a pub and getting a pint served from a hatch by robotic glove.
Yeah in a fast food place you have to put your fingers where everyone else has been then hold the food with those fingers then eat that food. If we learned nothing from c..d then that’s really bad.

Biscuits and sausage gravy is an American classic for breakfast, had some in Chicago recently. Another great post. Off to Reading with junior opp tomorrow for his driving theory, perfect timing for this Gary, Popeyes or 5 Guys 😋😋
Biscuits, and gravy is only found in some parts of America, usually in the South,I don’t know much about Chicago, I have never seen gravy in Popeyes in NYC.In fact I wouldn’t know where to go here on the East Coast to get Biscuits and Gravy.
Thankyou for your review Gary me and myson will be going there in Liverpool hopefully it will be a good place to go. We would like to let you know what it was like 👍
Hello Gary. I've had the same issue as well with those machines, the trick is to only tap with one finger. In the video, any time you tapped with two, you had issues, but once you used only one finger it worked well. I think the screen just doesn't register when it senses two touch points. Great video!
I hate those touch screen gimmicks and always have problems with getting them to work. Perhaps a slightly harder touch with a hammer would work better.
That used to be a really nice family run tapas restaurant called Don Fernando's. Closed a couple of years ago after more than thirty years in business.
Popeye of my comic book childhood was based on a true life Polish day laborer from Chester, Illinois so how the heck does Popeye’s Louisiana Kitchen even make sense…he never ate chicken just spinach. But that’s just the nerd coming out. Well done again Sir, love the diversity of your reviews.
I actually like those screens at least you can add and take things from your order and it understands unlike some staff who gets very confuse and just ignore your requests and gets your order wrong. We do not have a Popeye in Australia yet. The main chain I am waiting for is Jollibee but my son is desperate for Popeye.
Hi gary I love love ❤️ watching your videos, we visited a popeyes on Tuesday because of your visit, you are such a lovely gentleman you always make me smile, keep doing what your doing, thanks again Annie ❤ x

Thank you Gary, another professional well balanced review. I don't really like fast food but I would always trust your reviews. Another great job my friend 👍👍👍
I love the deluxe burger, I think it's prefect and well thought through. The slice of cold cheddar acts as a barrier to stop the crunchy gem lettuce from warming and wilting so it tastes fresh. Nothing worse than hot wilted lettuce in a chicken burger. Kind of wish you hadn't had dry fried chicken but glad you found the flaw so others can avoid. The tenders are awesome, so is the Mac and cheese.
Yet again you smashed it,not the screen 😜. You always come up trumps giving a good honest review. I definitely go there for a Popeyes chicken dinner . Thank you 🙏🏼⭐️😜👍❤️
The brioche can do one as far as im concerned Gary. The rest of it looked good though. I went to the one in Cardiff and thought it was nice food. Thanks for sharing ☕👍
Looks good Gary! I think the screens need pressing with just one finger rather than two. They can be hard to navigate but once you’ve used them a few times it’s easier. Never seen a popeyes in the UK I didn’t even realise we had them over here!
The "biscuit" looks like what we call a scone? I think the machine has been well used, you did try all the different ways it could be pressed, it just wasn't up to playing properly any longer.

The variety of restaurants you go to is amazing 👏
I'm going through your past videos to find out what joints I need to go too.
In time all bad restaurants will fear your presence. Good thing is they can up there game.
I'm a fan of your channel probably. the best food content channel 👌 around.
That’s so very kind and really appreciated thank you, I really thank you for watching and commenting. Have a great week ahead 👍
Good. review . Glad you enjoyed it Gary .
We' had a Popeys for about 2 years here in Canada. I tried it a few times and liked it .
Thank you ever so much
I’m a recent subscriber, you seem like a lovely bloke, really enjoy your videos thank you
Thank you Mark and I really appreciate you subscribing, watching and commenting
I like the fries oc(cajun) ally..
Great review.
😂
Get off the stage, you Jerk. Do you read these puns online or Jamaic-am up yourself?
(Yes, my 'joke' is even worse than yours!)
Thanks Mike
Garry next time you use one of those machines try not pointing your finger at it 👉 But use the finger print part of your finger☝️If this doesn't work try using the knuckley part of your hand to push through the glass to the chosen item 👊.
or use your nose like a normal person? ;)
@@alexrekzu4079 Or you could try licking it 👅
How about a hammer ….. I’ll just go to the counter in the future Robert as I’m useless at these machines 👍👍
13:41 Hey Gary - great video. Thanks for the nostalgia trip as my Mother used to make those fried scones/biscuits and serve them with lashings of butter and golden syrup. You’re not the only one who has problems with those screens either. 😂
I’m pleased you enjoyed and a trip down memory lane 👍
Great review as always Gary! Would be great if you could review Lahpet and Emilia’s handcrafted pasta. Both brilliant!
I take it the machine was a little camera shy 😂
Where is it located David please 🙏
@@GaryEats Hi Gary - Lahpet has two locations, one in shoreditch and one in the west end (Covent garden). It’s Burmese cuisine, which you are yet to cover!
Emilia’s crafted pasta has four locations (st katharine’s dock, Aldgate, Canary Wharf and Baker Street).
Thank you very much David much appreciated 👍
Hi Gary. Like you avoid mushrooms, I’m not a fan of chicken so I won’t comment on the food. However, your criticism of the touch screen operation and it cleanliness is very relevant. Particularly when eating food with our fingers. A sachet of sanitiser with each order should be mandatory. Cheers.
Each to their own but I've never known of anyone dislike chicken before (unless for ethical reasons)
@@mactheknifeuk I eat boiled dog, stingray and orphan bald babies. Yum
Really Christopher I understand and that’s a really good point
In my humble opinion Popeyes has the best fried chicken as well as the best chicken sandwich of any Fast Food joint. Also, there gravy for the mashed potatoes is great. Good video.

All the best Jonathan 👍🏼
@@RollrightKnightsOne size fits all, most important of all; Halal. Humanely slaughtered? You tell me... 🤔
The chicken is often from South America, Europe or Vietnam. Beef is often British and Irish in UK fast food.
Another great review Gary! Just a little heads up... the issue with the touchscreen was you were tapping with 2 fingers which confused the haptic feedback. In the future, using just one digit to tap is much more responsive.
James I have two solutions, go to counter two get a hammer 😳😂
Or three use a finger ☝️☝️☝️lol
Always love watching your videos. Chills me out! And good honest reviews. You need some 'Let's give it a go' t shirts n jumpers!
I have Brendan it’s in the description 👌
Hooray ... another video ! ... Thnx Gary .... 😍
Enjoy!
those order screens have put me off for good
Not the fact that he was pressing it well weird?
He was kinda banging on it.
@@sneer0101'pressing it well weird'... you mean touching the touch sensitive display which should be responsive and easy to use?
@@wayn3h I know those can be frustrating but Gary was kinda mashing them a bit. They only need a light press.
@@sneer0101 i dont like the look of the place and all that touch screen garbage no thanks
I understand your point I think it all depends on the franchise 👍
Chips and gravy Gary?
You’ll be saying aye up and breading whippets next mate haha
#convertednorthernboy
Love to see Gary in a flat cap😂😂😂
LOL. I love going up North
@@GaryEats it’s done me no harm, been my home all my life.

Do you fry the whippet after breading it?
@@colinhayes2318 Depends, if it's a whole whippet you have to oven bake them as the breading burns before the meat is fully cooked
Hi Gary great review again ive never been to popeyes but will try it sometime well done 👍
Thank you Craig always appreciated
Never tried this place but might just have to now after another great review, well done Gary and camera man
Thank you very much Debbie have a great weekend
I thought that order machine was going to be ripped off the wall, and launched out the window 😂
It really came close lol
PLEASE PLEASE try wing stop xxxxxxxxxxxx we love you gary xxxxx
Love you too Heather 😃
You cannot use two fingers on the screen, the sensor will block the input all together, one at a time please, my pleasure.
Cheers Gary there's one coming to Swansea and I can't wait.
I hope you enjoy I’m off to Wales 🏴 next week 👍
Oh wow, those chicken tenders looked amazing, as did the biscuit and gravy!
Sadly i'm in the sticks, on the west coast of Wales, and there's only 2 branches in Wales, at Cardiff, and Newport, so far too great a distance for me, being housebound as I am!
That sandwich looked amazing, too! Lol
Just what the UK needs.....More Chicken Shops and oh.....Barbers Shops and Costa Coffee!!!!! 😛
And a few more closed shops 🤷♂️
Amen brother.
Yeah, more Turkish barbers and vape shops. Just what we need...🤔
We need less terrible chicken shops and more from leading brands like Popeyes. Straight swap.
Im sorry mate, but when you have to thump a screen for an order, you lost me there! Even my GP surgery has a machine like that, covered in every germ known to man - I give up.
*Yes but if you injure yourself at the GP surgery, at least treatment is available 😊😄👍*
@@tonywozere909wait you guys don’t like ordering that takes seconds now due to self service??
@@Hellomynameis93 no, ghastly thought. It's self-service because it saves employing a friendly individual to greet and serve you personally, makes for a dull and anodyne experience, sorry. Imagine going to a pub and getting a pint served from a hatch by robotic glove.
All wrong. Wouldn't buy from somewhere with touch screen. Not for me . Walk away
Yeah in a fast food place you have to put your fingers where everyone else has been then hold the food with those fingers then eat that food. If we learned nothing from c..d then that’s really bad.
It's a touch screen, not a press screen!
👍🏼👍🏼
looking forward to this, as usual il comment now at the start before I watch, and again at the end after I watch .. iv had pop eyes biscuits and gravy, once.. it was nice fair play...
This was good but the screen 🖥️ needed a hammer 🔨 lol
A really good visit taste test and fair review 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🙌
I again have never tried popeyes, nothing in my area for two hours at least- but I have seen vids and I would like to try. Tenders definitely the deal here. Excellent as always Gary
Very kind and thank you 🙏
Funny how passing money over never used to leave us reaching for hand sanitiser!?
Great observation !
It always should've done, it's a habit I've always had.
It shouldn't :)
Money is one of the dirtiest things the average person will handle.
Money is dirtier!
I hate self-service. It is a way to get rid of staff and cash. I would just leave.
Prefer to just order at the counter
Biscuits and sausage gravy is an American classic for breakfast, had some in Chicago recently. Another great post. Off to Reading with junior opp tomorrow for his driving theory, perfect timing for this Gary, Popeyes or 5 Guys 😋😋
Biscuits, and gravy is only found in some parts of America, usually in the South,I don’t know much about Chicago, I have never seen gravy in Popeyes in NYC.In fact I wouldn’t know where to go here on the East Coast to get Biscuits and Gravy.
That sounds lovely Julian, good luck on the test 👍. Five Guys for me
Thankyou for your review Gary me and myson will be going there in Liverpool hopefully it will be a good place to go. We would like to let you know what it was like 👍
It’s really good Chris but choose carefully and enjoy Liverpool YNWA 👍
It's like you're reading my mind with these reviews. You really do cover all the bases restaurant wise.
That’s very kind thank you we do try to mix things up 👍
Don't use two fingers on a touch screen uncle
Ok sorry ☝️
@@GaryEats Agreed Gary, only use one finger when using a touch screen and you'll have no troubles
They should be paying you to use those god awful touch screens.
It’s probably me doing it wrong
Admittedly wanted to watch you bang the screen a bit more
🤣🤣
😂
Hello Gary. I've had the same issue as well with those machines, the trick is to only tap with one finger. In the video, any time you tapped with two, you had issues, but once you used only one finger it worked well. I think the screen just doesn't register when it senses two touch points. Great video!
Good to know. Thank you!
Never heard of POPEYES untill now. Food looked good, going to LA and Vegas soon will try one out there. Great vid Gary.😀😀
Thank you John and good luck when you visit Vegas 👍
touch screens don't like it when you use 2 fingers....
Same as my ex
👍🏼👍🏼
I hate those touch screen gimmicks and always have problems with getting them to work. Perhaps a slightly harder touch with a hammer would work better.
Fab idea👍
Lol completely agree Michael
Love the content but use 1 finger FFS it's user friendly but not idiot proof
Clearly this idiot isn’t used to new fast food technology 🤣
Idiot design, testing, real world trials and a failure to respond to feedback.
I see Gary, I watch. Congratulations on building your channel up mate
Thanks 👍
That used to be a really nice family run tapas restaurant called Don Fernando's. Closed a couple of years ago after more than thirty years in business.
Very sad to hear. Others have mentioned it
Gary! Amazing video as always!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you very much
I actually like those screens at least you can add and take things from your order and it understands unlike some staff who gets very confuse and just ignore your requests and gets your order wrong. We do not have a Popeye in Australia yet. The main chain I am waiting for is Jollibee but my son is desperate for Popeye.
You like them 😳. Ne its hammer time lol 🔨🔨🔨
Hi gary I love love ❤️ watching your videos, we visited a popeyes on Tuesday because of your visit, you are such a lovely gentleman you always make me smile, keep doing what your doing, thanks again Annie ❤ x
Thanks so much Ann xx
Hi Gary, I hope you are well, that touchscreen looked like it had software from 1972 ha ha I was getting impatient just watching you, fast food slow computer.
Great review as always, take care, Gareth
Will more than likely never get to eat at any of the places you visit, but I really like your reviews. Fan from Perth, Australia. Keep up the great work.

Another great job my friend 👍👍👍
Glad you like them Kev!
Glad you tried Popeyes Gary chips and gravy always a winner we love it in the Midlands 😊😊😊Enjoyed the video best wishes Diane 😊😊
Thank you Diane we try to mix things up on the channel
I love the deluxe burger, I think it's prefect and well thought through. The slice of cold cheddar acts as a barrier to stop the crunchy gem lettuce from warming and wilting so it tastes fresh. Nothing worse than hot wilted lettuce in a chicken burger. Kind of wish you hadn't had dry fried chicken but glad you found the flaw so others can avoid. The tenders are awesome, so is the Mac and cheese.
Thank you a good comment
Yet again you smashed it,not the screen 😜. You always come up trumps giving a good honest review. I definitely go there for a Popeyes chicken dinner . Thank you 🙏🏼⭐️😜👍❤️
I nearly lost it Karen but all good in the end have a great weekend x

The brioche can do one as far as im concerned Gary.
The rest of it looked good though.
I went to the one in Cardiff and thought it was nice food.

More than welcome and yes, I'm not big of bricohe but it worked here
Great review as always Gary food looks tasty gotta love fried chicken keep up the videos mate
Very kind Jack thank you
Looks good Gary! I think the screens need pressing with just one finger rather than two. They can be hard to navigate but once you’ve used them a few times it’s easier. Never seen a popeyes in the UK I didn’t even realise we had them over here!
Next time I will simply bring a hammer 🔨😂
@@GaryEats 🤣😁
The "biscuit" looks like what we call a scone? I think the machine has been well used, you did try all the different ways it could be pressed, it just wasn't up to playing properly any longer.
