Truer words…never spoken. In this f’n day and age for any level of this bs to still be going on…with all that history should have taught us… Sadly we’ll never ever experience an asshole shortage.. It just doesn’t need to be this way…we really are all just people. We should know this by now. Not to compare any person to dogs but it’s like thinking of Rottweilers and Pit Bulls the way many do…they’ll never know what they’re missing unless they have one. Biggest lovers in history. The dozens I’ve been around in life do not deserve the stereotype that has been givin to them. There’s always the exception to that as there is in everything. For the most part they are gentle loving animals. They’re powerful enough to cause real damage so therefore they are bad. It’s actually illegal to have these dogs in some places. It’s very sad to me as I’m sure with most people the bad ones are the exception, not the rule. Smarten up people…even if someone is an asshole one day…doesn’t mean they “are”an asshole.

One thing I'm not convinced that Hanks can do is play a genuinely intimidating man... I know he played a mobster in Road to Perdition, but it was just... "Oh, how nice, Tom Hanks is stretching himself."
Compare him in that to Ed Harris in A History of Violence... Harris was intimidating/scary as hell... I've never gotten the impression that Hanks could have pulled off that role... or Cruise in Collateral... while Hanks is a more versatile actor than Cruise, he wouldn't have been able to do what Cruise did in that role.

And I agree with many commenters here - this skit is a brilliantly written and performed piece of work, and it is much more about our various economic or city/rural lives. It was such a pleasure to find such humor in our commonalities versus our "differences." Love God, show kindness and respect to each other, treat others as you would like to be treated yourself.
