They managed to make fun of black and white people with the absolute best stereotypes out there, without anyone getting triggered
luggi lu it’s the cold fusion of comedy
I'm triggered, I just have to come up with a good reason why... I'll think of something.
because it was blacks making fun duh..
Yet
We need more triggers
Keenan’s face every time Doug gets an answer right tho
AFK Rynoz keenan: yesssss! YESSSSSSSS! YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!
lol
The whole skit revolved around reactions. Darnell's reaction when Doug gets the first one right, the awkward handshake, and the "Not a damn thing" reaction. Of course, the "What Lives Matter" had the best reactions of all. They KNEW where it was about to go!
Kenan makes this bit work, tbh.
:0
Tom's delivery of "what is, not a daaamn thing" is just so pure and golden. And the ladies' appreciative reaction to it just makes it even better. The writers and cast really outdid themselves with this one I'll tell ya h'what.
But I did not understand what does it mean?

I like how they show that people, no matter your color of skin, have more in common when you share the same tax bracket.
Um, no. They are pointing out black people and southern conservative white people have more in common than society will admit.
@@labountisure but they usually are in the same tax bracket. Coincidence?
Only color that matters is green.
Imagine if people realized the truth.
@@labounti have you ever been to the south before? the majority of the ppl there are black lol
This is how you do racial humor without being racist.
Well the reason why its funny is that it focuses on class rather than race. Poor whites are the same as poor blacks.
Sentirion Beats well I’m white and black but haven’t experience any poor livelihood
@@ReedBoi-tv2se well in the south there are a ton of poor people, white and black (a few hispanics too)
Thank you, I guess the SNL's writer didn't know how to do this type of comedy without you layin'-out the whole skit, so happy you approve!? Not!!🙄
(Sarcasm) 🤨
Sentirion Beats whoosh
This sketch perfectly illustrates that people are more separated by class than by race. Hilarious and ballsy.
HAH!! Exactly...United Arab Emirates: I know who they are in this soap opera but I had a blank spot the other day. I was watching a commercial and Jennifer Anniston was doing a commercial for Emmerites Airlines. She never or I hardly ever see her do commercials. It was just one of those weird things that just didnt sit right. Isnt that airline owned by Saudi Arabia? It didnt sit right, weird.
My take away is that people are 90% the same but the rest of the 10% really start defining who we are, in a lot of ways. This is why all the contestants were equally picking off the answers throughout the game show and why, when it came to Final Black Jeopardy, Doug was clearly going to lose and the host and other contestants clearly took issue with it. Black people feel marginalized and the single white guy couldn't see it from this perspective.
But, I definitely agree with you that this was hilarious and ballsy.
David Lor Let me ask you something. Since the installment (or election) of the countless black aldermen/women in the black neighborhoods, how much better have those neighborhoods fared economically, safety, and crime wise? Was there the improvement that was supposed to have been seen? I havent seen it. It just looks to me that the only blacks that had an improvement were those elected and their own inner circles. The rest stayed the same.
David Lor your comment just goes back to Berk's original point that people are actually separated by class and not by race.... If a black person feels marginalized it is largely because of some notion instilled into them from this idea of being part of a "black community" that is separate from the mainstream American culture at large. The political class both fosters and utilizes this exactly so that it can create the conditions where we believe ourselves, as a society, to be separated by race. So in a way we really are separated by race, at least apparently, but this separation is artificial and contrived having been created so that we don't become wise to the fact that it is only class that is separating us, naturally, in truth, in our so-called "classless society". This is why working class people of all races intuitively understand that the game is rigged and they are being conspired against. The real conspiracy is, of course, nothing like they imagine, but what they imagine has been fueled by the unconscious awareness of what is really happening to them.
I see the same change in other communities as well. What do you suppose is the culprit to this lack of change? And how can we address it?
“If I can laugh and pray in 90 minutes that is money we’ll spent” GOLD😂😂😂

@@joanaasta6796 quite a few people, more specifically people of color, kneel during the National Anthem and it makes a lot of people upset for some reason while other people of color and white saviors try to defend them. That’s what it’s referencing
@@QGonline thanks! this skit is a gem
@@QGonline The people who get offended see the kneeling as disrespectful to our flag and our country, which is absurd. It is literally the most passive, peaceful thing you can do to show respect to the people of color who have lost their lives in senseless acts of violence. This is one of the main reasons why people on the left and people on the right are always fighting. People on the left are not afraid to face these harsh realities directly, while people on the right want them to go away because they don't like feeling uncomfortable and having to address their own flaws.
This sketch is the best thing SNL has put out in years. You gotta love how they put a new spin on it every time. Tom Hanks is a national treasure.
Kelly I totally agree! Tom Hanks is a class act too! I had a selfie done with him and a group of fans at one of his movie premiers. He was so polite and funny, no ego! It was very refreshing!
Actually Nicholas Cage is the national treasure.
Actually Nicholas Cage finds national treasures. Meaning, National Treasure 3: Finding the Hanks.

Qupid VOneOhOne Actually, Tom Hanks finds National Treasures as Robert Langdon. Tom wins in every situation here😁
I haven't laughed this hard at Tom Hanks on SNL since he joined The Five Timers Club.
Damn this writing could heal a nation haha. This was actually a really tricky sketch to write without getting cancelled by one group or another.
One of the all time great SNL skits. To this day still laugh at "NOT A DAMN THING"
I rewatched it today just for that line lol
@@KG-zz8ik lol Same...just now
"Welllll ... it was good while it lasted" along with the looks from Leslie and Shasheer bring this one home perfectly. As good as it gets.
😂
@@yannickomani7382 Yep. Total stink eyes.
As a broke white dude whose friends are mostly broke black folks, the accuracy here is ridiculous 😂
Does your friend fix anything for 40 dollars? 😂
@@bruhmoment-yc5zg some of 'em do 😂
I grew up biracial and poor, can confirm both sides of my family are pretty much the same lol
@@bruhmoment-yc5zg refrigerator... air conditioner... and my cat. may be my favorite line in the whole skit!
@@bruhmoment-yc5zg Yup, but it's 50 bucks up here in Canada!
SNL is at its finest - and funniest - when it teases out social realities. Poor people are just poor people.
My favourite SNL skit!
"Not a daamn thing!" made me burst out laughing the first time I heard it
