Funny how now we worry about strange bike lights coming on when in the old days, the days of Lucas Prince of Darkness, we worried about lights going out...and they did. Thanks TAYM 😊
You captured this bike’s purpose just right for those back roads around Suffolk, looks like it handled them very well. A lot of bike for the money. Great recap 👍
Lovely bike . Good looking as are all Triumphs. This bike's a bit like a 350 RE Hunter that's been fed a bucket of oats and wants to go . If I was younger, I'd have one. I'm an old guy now , but not yet old enough for a RE Meteor 😇 or Classic 🧐 ! It doesn't bother me that it's made in India . I am sure that Triumph won't tolerate poor quality. If it were Chinese , I wouldn't even look at it .
Definitely one of the best "real reviews" out there. (You get the feeling a lot of vloggers give unduly positive reviews, to obtain the next freebie ride, from which ever dealership they are using). Clearly, if you have purchased a bike for your own use, it's a more genuine perspective. I have a green one on order for the summer. Can't wait.
I’m so pleased you’ve revisited the 400x and that you still love it! Great review and commentary as always. Don’t forget I was first to ask to buy it off you when you sell it after you’ve bought it! You didn’t say no so I consider the deal’s done. I think it’s an ideal winter bike for people over 6’. The Honda nx500 is also tempting but this Triumph is probably better for north Essex and Suffolk back “roads”.
Thanks TAYM good review, I’m defo going to try one of these out as I haven’t heard anything bad yet ,the lightness and agility coupled with enough power for the road really appeals
Really like the look of this bike. Nice review. It will be interesting to see if we get these in the US. I’ve not seen them at our local triumph dealer but would love to take a spin.. great review 👍
I've had two Triumphs and am amazed they're selling these for such a cheap price. I'd prefer to see spoked wheels rather than alloys on a Scrambler otherwise it looks good 👍
Love the looks etc, Nice to have a Big / Small bike, For us 6 footers, But those revs !, Like the Scram, I would have to alter the gearing, There seems enough power to play with ?. Funny how people say 40 BHP is not enough, Back in the 60 s, It was good !, A Vincent Rapide didn't have much more !!. I enjoy your rides, Well Done.
I think my GS400E was 36bhp. To me, then it was a big bike. I'm back at 20bhp now with Ernie the Classic 350 but it's perfect for today's roads and speed limits. Somehow at 60, I'm having more fun going slow these days. If there's a change of government this year (and that looks likely) they'll roll out many more speed limits over the next few years too especially 20mph zones.

Nice review TAYM 👌. I was 5'6" when I was 17. I'm 5'5" now 🤔 😂. My Classic 350 smelled of very hot metal for the first 800 or so miles - even though I coaxed it. It now doesn't smell at all, which is a good indication that's it's fully run in 👍
It's a marvellous looking little bike, I do think it sounds a bit weedy but it won't be long until someone develops a can for it to sort that out. I reckon it's a brilliant little tool for bombing around the lanes on.
Morning TAYM, nice day for a test ride, I took the road version out a few weeks ago, it's a nice looking bike and very comfortable, but yes I found it to feel a bit buzzy and revvy myself, I wouldn't enjoy riding it at 70 and above for very long , I think it would get annoying, but I think most buyers would enjoy it on the type of routes you've just done. Speaking of noise it sounds like someone was doing a bit of clay shooting in the background there? Keep your head down eh? 😅 Enjoy your weekend, cheers Mel . Oh and I'll try and get my dance in this weekend as well eh! 🕺 🕺
Nice one TAYM I do like the looks of this one and in the black very nice indeed , as a comment below said it's in the realms of the BSA price wise so would that be a more tempting option given that extra little bit of go well I think it might especially in black .a good start to my saturday a caramel latte and and a TAYM vlog could this day get any better well only when the temperatures rise 😂. A blackjack perfect description and I saw a bag of blackjacks in a shop this week had no idea they were still available how cool is that 👌👍.
Nice looking trumpet there TAYM at a reasonable price but having owned a low cc single the lack of power in reserve can be annoying. Carry on that man Caio for now 👍🏻
Agree about the seat height on smaller capacity bikes,my first bike DT50,was the tallest I could get at 16,and I remember a little kid calling me Lofty after the character from Eastenders.😂 Great video TAYM.
Great little bike for a taller person , interesting that some are saying the Speed model rides even better. In my opinion although very different in looks , the BSA now available discounted is a real rival . A much bigger and more grunty single for around the same price. ... despite being a Triumph fan boy I think It might be the one I'd go for given the choice, not as smoothly finished as the Triumph but more bike for the money in many ways?
The bigger problem is the lack of parts and accessories here in the US. I can ignore a damn light but I have been waiting for a 15 tooth front sprocket which is standard on the Speed 400. I also waited several weeks for parts back in March to solve an ABS issue.
Thanks David 😁 yes, I know dealers that are having to sacrifice whole bikes to get parts 😁 but I also know it’s the same with Royal Enfield and BSA for example 🤔 it’s a crazy world at the moment 😁
