i came here today just to get a rough idea, what‘s this evolver-thingy at all (?). Wasn‘t surprised, that it is a outstanding/strange app, capable to do some jobs you don‘t even thought about before, mixed with unexpected extras. I use a bunch of his ios offers frequently, and know for sure, that under the hood of a oldfashioned looking GUI, the running app in front of you ALWAYS reveals a very versatile unit, you won‘t miss in your toolkit. Even if personal idea of optimized workflow may slightly differ, the IDEA WHAT IT IS MADE FOR is regularly a showcase of „I thought a LONG time about WHAT to do, Why, and How.“ In fact, it is overwhelming how much useful tools Paul is able to exploit one by one, well documentated almost free of flaws and errors. A genious. Covering a wide range of possible (or even impossible) neccessities in music production AT ALL - not only ios space. You can purchase, almost everything, blind, and won‘t regret - sooner or later. This one, well, is - from my point of view - unknown territory. Can‘t resist, I will give it a try. Every single shown aspect, here in this vidfile, is making curious. @Paul: chapeau, you are the multispectral tool-king. YOU make things happen. Thanks for your ideas. Applause to the visionary.
Freaking genius !!!!! This is almost like a Korg Wavestation/Wavestate but on steroids and if I'm wrong, it's all good ......freaking genius Love how your mind works .......
I think this is going to more than satisfy my itching desire for a Wavestate for which I have no room and cannot justify the expense! Thanks, Paul, this looks amazing. I do intend releasing a short video on app usage since this was really designed to be programmed via a DAW rather than a real time performance tool. It was designed to latch to an incoming beat/tempo rather than be free running which may put off a few people wanting a more real-time performance tool. I'm sure all will become clear soon.

Wow, this looks very exciting. I certainly will buy this (like almost all of your other great Apps). But please don‘t forget to give us a wider note range in Digikeys. Thanks Nik, and I understand well your request for DigiKeys. I guess those using external synths are using chromatic mode which does limit the note range. I will indeed take a look at this one.
Just reading the spec in your description...super exciting! There’s actually elements of Mitosynth and Kronecker in there (two very unique synths on iOS that I love very much) plus obviously a whole lot more mind boggling functionality and capability. This is going to be just awesome for sound design! 😃🤩🤯🤤🤪
I bought it, wish there was a separate EvolverFX playlist here, must say I'm overwhelmed, your demos sound great, so far I can't make it sound good :), wish there was something explaining definition of "multisamples" - is there such thing as too much goodness in one place ?
Yes, I really need to make a playlist for Evolver, but there are many videos on this subject. MultiSamples as the name suggests are files that contain multiple samples recorded at different octaves so that they can be transposed over a greater audible range without sounding too stretched.
Awesome.. and the harmonics thingy is terrific. I really don’t need anymore synths unless they have a bit of innovation in them, as far as I know, there’s nothing on iOS that does this aside from the Korg wavestation, which I have but it’s interface is tedious. In korgs defence I admit I’m a tad impatient sometimes. Hurry up Paul! 😉
Your videos and apps are great. I have 1 request. Please use a mouse that highlights where you are clicking on your screen. I have to watch the videos repeatedly just because things change and I didn’t see what was changing. I noticed this with all of your videos. I’m constantly rewinding trying to figure out what changed where. I’m learning these apps so I don’t have the layout and what every button does, so your talking, I’m listening and suddenly knobs and things are changing but I don’t know where. You know tour apps inside out. We are learning them so it’s a challenge to follow not being able to see what’s going on. A lot of rewinding and rewatching trying to see the changes and apply that to what I’m learning. Thank you
I'm guessing people are drawing the comparison because you can sequence sounds/samples rather than just notes, which kind of gives it a familiar sound.
So let’s see if I’ve got this straight- I hit a couple of notes on a keyboard and Paul’s brain turns it into a multi-layered sonic experience with full orchestration and percussion thrown in for good measure... yes?
Alternatively you could 'lay some notes in your favourite DAW' and it turns into a sonic experience! I do have a usage video coming soon.... hope your keeping well matey
Purchased on release and now going through the videos. It's awesome! One question, would it be possible, when in the Edit Sample screen to switch to the actual sample selected? It seems to do that on Harmonics.
@@PaultheMusicMan If I select various single samples in the sample slots and open the "Edit Sample" screen the sample slots S1, S2, etc are still "selectable" and I would expect the contents of the "Edit Sample" screen to switch to the selected sample slot. It doesn't do that so it gets confusing which sample is getting adjusted in that case. Same applies when swithing sequence steps
It has MIDI in/out, but only for recording purposes and this does not include the sequencer data as it just isn't possible plus most host apps don't support the required routing on iOS (with the exception of AUM). If you need that kind of thing stick with DigiKeys, but this does things I couldn't hope to do via MIDI.

This is an AUv3 plugin (err I mean toy) so you should ideally be using the keyboard in your DAW. The internal one is really only useful when following these tutorials, but since your the second person to ask I'll get a lock function in there nect version I promise!! But now you have the Chord Pad so you have no excude to use the keyboard?

Paul the MusicMan thanks Paul! Yes, Suggester is a cool app that will give you all the chords for just about any scale and allow you to create chord progressions and specify how they play back via MIDI. I think these two apps will work great together, especially for creating jam tracks!
Instead of hosting other AUv3 plugins within Evolver, what if we used multiple Evolver instances as midi effects in let’s say 3 channels as master in a DAW or AUM and as a slave in another channel which controls the other 3 instances. I mean something similar approach you did with Sidechain compressor. I know Evolver probably does not have midi effect mode currently, but it might be feasible. I don’t know, it’s just an idea. What do you think Paul? This app is amazing by the way!

It should edit the sample associated with the currently selected step. At least for single-samples and harmonics, is it not doing that?

You actually play in the chord progression or use another app to do it via AUv3 and MIDI.

As far as I'm aware an AUv3 plugin cannot host other AUv3 plugins so this is unlikely. Would be cool if Apple open things up and allow it mind you!!
