too true. First time I tried I just messed around. I got confused and deleted the program from my PC. Then after seeing all the cool things people have done I went back a while later and with tutorials I got to know it. It is now my favourite piece of software. It has so many aplications
Yes, it's a button in the main bar, appears as a purple PacMan, And when you press it, the GameBlender engine is on, and you can apply actuators, sensors, etc. with easy and comprehensible buttons. Seach in google tutorials about the Blender Game engine
Damn you can do that whit blender? Thats impressive. I can only make some 3d pictures and stuff but i have no idea how to make things like this. Awesome.
If everyone could make "GTA type games" on blender, then there would be no need for real gaming industries. Unless you have lots of motivation (and money), its not happening.
I think that Sketchup models can be exported to .obj or other 3D format, then in blender File-import-then the format, and you can choose the file you want.
Looking at this video I know how much is bad my work with blender... The video that I share is complete maded by my classmate and I... but it's only a "small" part of what a good animator can do whith this beautiful free animation software!
The interface is going to be changed with the next release (Due out this month). And lol I've almost forgotten what it's like to be a Windows user afraid of viruses.
How long does it take to learn blender. I've had it for 1 day now. I've been watching tutorials...how long did it take u to learn it? Is it better for me to just mess around and figure it out myself than going through tutorials? I learned photoshop, vegas movie editor this way, but blender seems so much more complicated...
Actually, Its a render. Some examples in it are game engine, but they are baked to ipos. The BGE can't handle the particles and shading in this video. Great Video though!
I'd say learn by tutorials...just think of something you wanna model it...find tutorials that teach you the ways which you need...and model! That's how i did/do it...
Hmm.. I heard what, with a script, the GE can have shadows... and the particles... I don't know xD but yes, this is an animation, so you've got the reason, it's render...
I use Blender and Maya. I like them both, but I have problems importing my 3D models from Blender into Maya, as I can't get them out of polygon mode. :( I don't know how to texture my models in Maya, so transferring between the two programs is a quite good idea
There are a lot of techniques involved. search blender tutorials for rigging and animating on youtube, the blender website is pretty bad for tutorials. If you want to get really good google blender noob to pro and do every tutorial in order. It will take you from a noob to a pro... fancy that! good luck
Blender is awsome, but its not a program you can learn by messing around, kinda like you can't learn programming by messing around with the keyboard. All in the tutorials. :)
I think it's not so hard. I'm making a videogame, and, if you have a group of friends, you can do a very good work. It's true what the interface is a bit difficult, bout, if you learn it how to use it, it's very very easy. Of couse, I'm using Blender some years ago.
dng im gonna try blender i use c4d now trying 3dmax O_O i start with c4d best for me/.....3dmax is hard i have to click other places to see all the objects thats strange and blender rocks i wanna try it
considering what blender is really capable of, this isn't all that amazing. They mostly looked like Blender GE type of things. Good movie, though.(whoever did make it)
11 years later...and I'm still making games with this awesome Software :D
too true. First time I tried I just messed around. I got confused and deleted the program from my PC. Then after seeing all the cool things people have done I went back a while later and with tutorials I got to know it. It is now my favourite piece of software. It has so many aplications
Agreed.
If you have the motivation, you can do anything.
Literally.
unleash the power of 3D with the blender!
You’re breathtaking!
That was an amazing trailer, I'm utterly impressed! :D
this video is so great it made me cry i only wish it was longer though

great peace of production and animation.
I should make a Blender trailer of my own! Thanks for the inspiration! :D
Damn you can do that whit blender?
Thats impressive. I can only make some 3d pictures and stuff but i have no idea how to make things like this. Awesome.

No 3D suite matches it's ultimateness O_O
Bow before your master!

I only just heard of Blender 3D. Had no idea it was capable of generating such graphics. And to think the software is actually FREE?!
I love blender so much i'm a blender head myself.
ZBrush- this is awesome
This is a trailer for the game engine of Blender, which has recently had more features added.

is that an early version? b/c it seems that blender is LOT more capable now.
yep, but its REALLY hard. i never really learned how to use it, i only made a ball move across the screen lol
Waterboy418, no problem, I also use Max (It was my first program 3d).
if you look in the right places you'll get it.
But does it blend, that is the question?
anything 3d is hard because all our computers are not seen in 3d. you have to navigate in 2d...just how i look at it.
The interface is going to be changed with the next release (Due out this month).

There are a lot of techniques involved. search blender tutorials for rigging and animating on youtube, the blender website is pretty bad for tutorials.
If you want to get really good google blender noob to pro and do every tutorial in order. It will take you from a noob to a pro... fancy that! good luck
Blender Game Engine. It's a game engine built into blender....
So you can make animations and games??
Blender 3D is best open source!
