What is wrong with the 132 ---- heads that DISLIKE this lesson ?? Justin is by far the best guitar tutor online -- So easy to follow and not trying to rip us off financially -- why be negative about him - if you don,t like it - go elsewere !!
Stephen Whiteside because you can't call it and easy beginners lesson if your gonna just say random chord names and not show HTf to put your fingers in that chord
Jesse Nelson it's called a folsom blues easy lesson. Not teach jesse how to play simple chords that you could find in a video called how to play simple chords. So yes you definitely can call it an easy folsom blues lesson. People like you don't want to do anything to help yourself. Expecting all the work to be done for you and then having the cheek to moan about it. You sum up all what is wrong with the world. Take your negativity and piss off
Been following Justin since I began guitar. A stranger, in a guitar store, told Me about him. Next time I saw the stranger I bowed and We both had a good laugh. Point being - Justin is a very good guitar teacher.
I feel compelled to comment on the last two comments...Justin teaches in a very thorough, clear, concise and entertaining manner for which I am very grateful. When Justin talks, you best listen closely. He's regularly giving you gold!
I now find that I am a worse guitar player than I thought I was. After wasting years playing badly I watched this and find I have to re-learn most things!.I am gutted gut glad I found Justin guitar to help.
The best things in life are free Justin's songbook is completely optional, hell you can even write your own version of justin's songbook just by watching his videos
As always, another excellent song tutorial. I just wanted to agree with the guy that said you look alot like a young Norm McDonald, a very beloved Yank comedian. Please keep making tutorials, yours are some of the best out there.
These are the best lessons I've found on the net, especially since they are free. They are the first ones that have really helped me. I've gotten better just this week watching Justin. Thanks man!
jutin is awsome first person I used for lessons on the internet. Always shows the chords and explains ways to play the song the easiest way and also embelishments that can be added to make the song more interesting after you get the hang of th easy way. gotta love the guy. He's great!
I've finally made a simple home recording of me singing this one. Now I'm on my way to "Wonderful Tonight" by Eric Clapton. Guitar is done.. got to learn how to sing it properly. This video helped me a lot, so I'm here to say thank you one more time, Justin.
Justin,”THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!” You have ALWAYS been my favorite guitar teacher and I have learned so much from you my friend…..Johnny Cash is my absolute favorite and I can’t wait to use what I have learned in this lesson to increase my enjoyment of playing this song! BEST WISHES TO YOU and your FAMILY!!!!! 🤠🙏🎸🦅☀️
Hi, I’m about to buy my first guitar. I’m a lefty but will probably buy a regular guitar and learn that way. My ambition is to play (and maybe sing badly) this tune. Thanks for posting
I've always found his videos very informative, and he is providing me with the basic information if i need to learn more than that is what is called "Self taught". You pick up information from this man here, who gives me some good ideas and timings on the Sony. Then i have to write it down practice it and understand it. He is just here to share some knowledge and I'm sure if you want the teacher experience he provides that for a fee, like every other teacher. A more one to one based exp.
Marty Schwartz has lover's warts! Justin thanx a ton for explaining the rhythm, my train sounded like a blender.Appreciate the time you take to help us in UA-cam world.
Justin!!! Music is for all,,and the best is you can make it your own..Your a great teacher,,,Must be across the pond,,,,Many thanks,,Ill pass your site around to others,,,Best on here!!!
You can do it! Are you following Justin Beginner Course www.justinguitar.com/classes/beginner-guitar-course-grade-one and learning from his 600+ song lessons www.justinguitar.com/songs Cheers 😊 | close2u | JustinGuitar Official Guide [ www.justinguitar.com/ ] & Moderator on JustinGuitar Forum
Hey man, great video tutorial. I see a few people commenting on your singing, it aint so bad, not everyone's a Barbara Streisand ;-) Anyway it's a guitar tutorial - FOCUS people, FOCUS!
FYI, Justin sings the song at about ~120 bpm while Cash does it at 100 if you assume 16th notes. The lesson counts 8th notes, but it is easy to transpose it to 16th notes -- just hit the base note on each beat instead of every other. I keep the rhythm by tapping my foot and it is way easier when you use 16th notes.
For those who are confused why he says the chord progression starts with 4 bars of E (x2), then he only plays half of that, it is because he is strumming down on ONLY beats 1 and 3. If you go back near the start, you will see that he says strum down on only those 2 beats because it's a blues shuffle. So then it ends up working out because 4 bars of E (2 times) becomes 4 bars of E with 2 strums per bar, rather than the usual 4. Keep pressing on, fellow beginners!

Jealous, people are shit at times
Been following Justin since I began guitar. A stranger, in a guitar store, told Me about him. Next time I saw the stranger I bowed and We both had a good laugh. Point being - Justin is a very good guitar teacher.
Intro: 2 Bars of B7 2 Bars of E
Main verse: 4E 4E 4A 4E 4B7 + 2E
“And we’re going to A chord now.. it’s for a whole whole four bars”
The voice of this angel lives in my head rent free for almost ten years

Gotta say i love all your lessons Justin so accurate, fun and delivered with class :-)
Yes, always done with a sense of fun and always very accurate too.
I now find that I am a worse guitar player than I thought I was. After wasting years playing badly I watched this and find I have to re-learn most things!.I am gutted gut glad I found Justin guitar to help.
man you look so much like a young Norm McDonald
Shit he does! Xd
Yeah lol
I can’t unsee it now! 😂😂😂 this is one young chunk o coal
I think peter frampton.
Lol he actually does look like norm mcdonald.
Looks nothing like Frampton whatsoever though
His hat is majestic and he knows many things...
If you are playing along to Johnny Cash and think it doesn't sound right put a capo on the first fret. Same chords. E, A and B7 but with the Capo.
Gavin Smith 5 years later replies HI 😂
But if you’re playing along with Jonny cash, the low notes are far too low for a capo
i think its better to just tune up 1/2 step
And if you put it on the second fret the chords are D, G and E.
Dude, every time I think about putting down the guitar and taking a break, you come out with a new video, thanks man.
how are you at guitar?
